The late afternoon sun cast long shadows across the sprawling campus of New Hera, its golden rays glinting off the sleek glass of the school building and the worn tracks of the field where students still lingered, their laughter and shouts fading into the warm air.

Adam strode through the grounds, his school bag slung carelessly over one shoulder, as his cape fluttered with the cool wind, his golden eyes scanning the horizon with a mix of exhaustion and anticipation for tonight.

The day had been a whirlwind, yet it was never a dull time with her around at the very least.

Given today Moka temporarily became a bloodhound, smelling him in class, her tsundere jealousy over Priscilla's scent was cut to see at least.

'Why are vampire girls so cute?'

He said to himself, as his mind churned with thoughts of tonight's date with Priscilla, her flushed face and nervous plea still burning in his memory like a ember that wouldn't die even when deeply submerged in water.

The air smelled of fresh-cut grass, but his heart was a tangled mess of duty, desire, and the inevitable trials of a destiny he wasn't sure he was ready to face.

Minerva would be the ideal person to take that with.

But ultimately he tried not to think too hard on it.

Moca on the other hand trailed beside him, her white hair catching the sunlight like a halo, though her crimson eyes were narrowed towards the boy beside her.

But her usual stoic composure was fraying at the edges. She kept pace with Adam, her steps light but meaningful, like a cat stalking something it wasn't sure it wanted to catch.

The housing area loomed ahead, a cluster of sleek, modern residences dwarfed by the towering mansion Adam called home, the biggest house on campus, the home resident of the future Duke of the Van Hellsing Family.

But as the walk, and just enjoy the peaceful gift of nature, since as the cool breeze, and refreshing scent of the world around them.

Moca caught Adam attention, as she said.

"So, uh, Adam."

Moca said, her voice cutting through the comfortable silence. She fidgeted with the edge of her skirt, her cheeks faintly pink.

It was clear she wanted to say something, and Adam open one eye as he look her way.

And groaned, and said.

"Hmmm!?"

"I just want to know if you are free this Saturday? Like, no big plans, or gathering in the mix, you know stuff a noble like yourself would usually occupied yourself with during weekends or day's off."

Adam glanced at her, his lips twitching into a curious grin.

"Why do you ask?"

He said, slowing his pace to match hers. His golden eyes sparkled with his usually familiar teasing glint, though his heart gave a little lurch at her nervousness.

Moca wasn't one to just ask for things, she was mostly silent, or did things at random, but usually not outside her schedule, so this was new.

Moca's blush deepened, and she looked away, her fingers twisting the hear shape bud at the chocker chain, clearly nervous to speak up for some reason.

"I was just… thinking we could hang out or something."

She mumbled, her voice barely above a whisper.

"You know, go somewhere together.... You know just you and me."

Adam's grin widened, and he tilted his head, his messy black hair falling into his eyes.

"Sounds cool, Moca. But where exactly you got in mind? You got a plan, or are we just wandering the city at random, I could do that too I guess."

She huffed, crossing her arms, her crimson eyes flicking back to him with a mix of annoyance and uncertainty.

"Tch, I am still working on it, okay? I'll figure it out by tomorrow. But… what about today? You free tonight, or what, maybe we can go singing at the Karaoke club."

Adam's grin faltered at those words, for a split second, his mind was flashing to Priscilla waiting at the mansion, probably still asleep in one of the guest rooms.

As tempting as Moca offer was, promise as a promise, Adam cannot break a Promise after all.

Or Medea will punish him.

As such he had to let her down gently for now.

"Nah, I am actually busy tonight."

He said, keeping his tone light, though his heart gave a guilty twinge.

"I got some stuff to handle."

Moca eyes narrowed, her womanly instincts kicking into overdrive. She stepped closer, her nose twitching as if catching that damn vampire scent again.

"You're going out with your sister tonight, aren't you?"

She said, her voice sharp but laced with a pouty edge.

Adam chuckled, playing it cool, though his pulse quickened.

"What? No way."

He lied, waving a hand dismissively.

"Just a family dinner at the mansion. You know, boring stuff. Catching up, eating fancy food Clara whips up. Nothing exciting."

Moca pout deepened, her crimson eyes boring into him like she could see right through his bullshit.

"Is that so?"

She said, her tone dripping with skepticism. She crossed her arms tighter, her silver hair catching the fading sunlight.

"Whatever. I am not gonna pry."

But her expression screamed she wasn't buying it, and the way her lips pursed said she wasn't thrilled about being left out of whatever competition she imagined was brewing between her and Priscilla.

Adam could almost hear her thoughts, vampire best friend versus tsundere sister, a rivalry she didn't want to lose.

Before Adam could tease her further, Moca's phone buzzed in her pocket, the sharp ring cutting through the moment.

She stopped dead in her tracks, pulling it out with a frown. Her crimson eyes scanned the screen, and in an instant, they went bloodshot, a flicker of panic crossing her face.

She sighed, loud and dramatic, and shoved the phone back into her pocket.

"Fuck me... I gotta go."

She said, her voice clipped as she met Adam's gaze.

"We'll talk more tomorrow. I'll also have the date planned out by then."

Her tone was firm, but the way her hands clenched betrayed something deeper, something urgent. Adam had a bad feeling for some reason but he didn't know why that was the case.

Adam raised an eyebrow, concern creeping into his voice.

"Hey, what's wrong? Everything okay?"

Moca waved him off, her expression shuttering back to her usual stoic mask.

"Personal matters is all."

She said curtly. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"Don't worry about it, but I do have to go now sadly... Enjoy your date playboy."

And before he could press further, she stepped back, her shadow rippling beneath her like a living thing. With a faint shimmer, she melted into it, vanishing in a blink, leaving only a faint chill in the air.

Shadow teleportation classic vampire move, but it still left Adam staring at the empty space where she had been, a mix of worry and amusement tugging at his chest.

"Sigh."

He muttered to himself, running a hand through his hair.

"Vampires and their drama."

He turned back toward the housing area, his boots crunching against the gravel path as he made his way to the mansion. It loomed ahead, a sprawling fortress of glass and stone, its sleek lines and towering spires make it obvious to degree of the Van Hellsing wealth.

The biggest house on campus, a fitting home for him nonetheless.

The mansion was still when he stepped inside, the grand foyer echoing with the faint creak of his footsteps.

Priscilla was probably still asleep, her ancient vampire habits keeping her out cold until nightfall.

Kira and Nyla, his roomies, were likely off at their clubs or visiting their sister most likely, different classes meant different schedules, and they were as busy as he was.

Clara, his ever-dutiful maid, was somewhere in the house, probably polishing silver or folding linens with that precise, almost mechanical grace of hers. The thought of her brought a small smile to his lips, as he recalls this morning adventures of the body.

This means Adam had some time to himself before tonight's date, and after the day he has personally had.

Fucking Clara, Moca sniffing, the classroom stares, the appearance of Osmondra Letter.

The needed to unwind in a warm water bath hit him strong.

A bath sounded perfect, a chance to soak away the chaos and clear his head. With that in mind, he made his way to the bathhouse, a lavish wing of the mansion with marble floors and steaming pools fed by hot springs.

The air was thick with warmth and the faint scent of lavender as he pushed open the heavy wooden door, already loosening his tie.

But the moment he stepped inside, his heart stopped. There, lounging in the largest pool, her petite frame half-submerged in steaming water, was Priscilla.

Awake it would seem.

Her blonde drill ponytails floated on the surface, her ruby-red eyes glinting with a mix of surprise and joy... albeit fill with nervousness.

Water glistened on her pale skin, her small curves barely hidden by the rippling waves, and for a moment, Adam's mind blanked, the memory of her naked on his bed this morning crashing back like a tidal wave.

"P-Priscilla!?"

He stammered, his voice cracking as his bag slipped from his shoulder, hitting the floor with a thud.

"What the hell are you doing up so early? And… in my bath... Inside my own room at that."

Her cheeks flushed crimson, but her gaze didn't waver, sharp and challenging as ever.

"Tch, don't make a big deal out of it, you idiot!"

She snapped, sinking lower into the water, though it did little to hide her embarrassment.

"I couldn't sleep, okay? And this place looked… nice. So what? You gonna stand there gawking, or are you going to join me?"
