HDXD: Omni Harem System-Chapter 265: A Jealous Vampire
The classroom was basically a boring space of lessons, and bored students, and their whispers and the scratch of pencils on paper filling the air like a restless hive of bees.
Adam slouched in his seat near the back, his sharp golden eyes half-lidded as he tried to tune out the droning lecture on human world history.
The digital bored was a combination of dates and names, but his mind was elsewhere, still tangled in the silk sheets of this morning.
At the moment Priscilla was sleeping in his mansion in the school property, till their date tonight.
Priscilla's flushed face and her stumbling, tsundere plea for a date lingering like a fever dream in his mind.
But also thought's of Osmondra envelope, sat heavy in his thoughts too.
'I really need to find a way to convince Minerva on entering that space with me, it basically the same space where the Father of Destiny and the Mother of Certainty left his and her inheritance, and only those worthy of it would be able to take their trials and inherit their powe's and weapons.'
It was thanks to the power of Destiny, that Xeres in the final battle against father Chaos was even able to beat beat Chaos as he controls the flow of Destiny even when certainty of being final outcome is all but assured.
Naturally it was a ticking bomb of destiny he wasn't ready to face, since in the original game, both Xeres, and Divana his teacher entered that place together essentially coming out as New Gods.
But right now, as he think on this situation, he had no choice but to divert it elsewhere, given this current situation was a more immediate problem that demanded his attention, and that problem was Moka.
The white hair beauty was usually so stoic and composed, was now for some reason acting like a damn bloodhound.
She leaned over the desk, her nose practically buried in the crook of Adam's neck, sniffing him with an intensity that made him wonder if she had traded her vampiric heritage for a werewolf's.
Her crimson eyes, sharp and unyielding, darted over his skin as if searching for a hidden truth, her man jewelry glinting against her school uniform and the cast of the sun outside shining in on them.
It was cute, in a weirdly endearing way, but the stares from their classmates were starting to burn holes in his back, his two sides, and his chest.
Whispers rippled through the room, eyes narrowing with judgment. Adam was sure if he wasn't the strongest, most influential guy in this school, hell, probably the whole damn city, they would be slandering the fuck out of him on whatever passed for social media in this fused HDXD world.
Even the teacher, a nervous, balding man with glasses perched precariously on his nose, pretended not to notice.
He kept his eyes glued to his lesson plan, scribbling furiously on the board, as if Moka's behavior was just another Tuesday.
Adam caught the man's fleeting glance, a mix of fear and resignation. The poor guy probably thought this was some bizarre fetish of the ultra-rich, too scared of Adam's reputation to intervene.
After all, Adam hadn't told Moka to stop, so why would he? A faint smirk tugged at Adam's lips as he leaned back, letting her do her thing for a moment longer. Her antics were adorable, in a chaotic, vampire-cat kind of way.
Finally, he have had enough of the spectacle. With a swift, playful motion, he grabbed Moka by the collar of her uniform, lifting her like a kitten by the scruff.
She froze, her crimson eyes widening as her body went limp, dangling in his grip. Her legs curled slightly, her hands hovering near her chest like paws, and her stoic expression cracked into something almost comically cute, a pout that didn't quite hide the flush creeping up her pale cheeks.
The class went dead silent, every eye locked on them, but Adam didn't care. He tilted his head, his grin sharp and teasing.
"Alright, Moka, what's with the dog routine? You're sniffing me like I'm a steak dinner. Care to explain?"
He said softly as only he and her could hear.
Moka's lips parted, her voice cool as ever despite her cat-like pose.
"From the moment you stepped into this classroom, Adam, you smell."
She said, her tone clipped but tinged with a faint tremor.
"I smell, slander I take bathes and put only the best cologne on my body."
Adam said to which Moca replied.
"No I am talking about the scent of another vampire. It's thick on you, heavy, like a storm cloud clinging to your skin."
She paused, her eyes narrowing, though her cheeks grew redder.
"Clara, I can tolerate, she.is your maid, part of your… household. But this one? It's strong. Too strong. And I...
She hesitated, her voice dropping to a near whisper as she averted her gaze.
"I don't like it. I'm your only vampire best friend, got it?"
Adam's grin widened, a low chuckle rumbling in his chest. He set her down gently, but kept a hand on her shoulder, his golden eyes glinting with mischief.
"Oh, Moka, are you jealous?"
He teased, leaning in just enough to make her squirm.
"Come on, admit it. You're all worked up because you think some other vamp's stealing your spot."
Moka's face flared, her crimson eyes snapping back to his as she jerked out of his grip, crossing her arms with a huff.
"J-Jealous? Me? How preposterous!! w-W-w-wWhy would I be jealous of some random bloodsucker clinging to you?"
She snapped, her voice sharp but shaky, her tsundere switch flipping so fast it was almost dizzying.
"Don't be ridiculous, you idiot! I just… I just don't like weird smells, okay? It's distracting!"
Her pout deepened, her fingers fidgeting with the edge of her collar like chocker Adam bought for her two days back during the after noon fair, as she turned her head away, clearly flustered.
Adam sighed, shaking his head with a fond smile.
"Alright, alright, calm down, kitty-cat."
He said, his tone softening as he leaned back in his chair.
"The reason there is another vampire's scent on me is simple, you see, this morning my sister came to visit me."
He paused, watching her reaction closely.
"You know, Priscilla. She popped by the mansion, unannounced, because of course she does."
Moka's eyes widened, her ears practically perking up as sweat beaded on her pale, undead forehead.
"You mean…
She stammered, her voice dropping to a terrified whisper.
"II Priscilla Heartbreak? The Shinso vampire? Second-in-command to Minerva, the Monster Lord, and the third strongest vampire in the entire Astrum Field?"
Her hands clenched, her cool facade crumbling as panic crept into her tone.
"The diabolist who could burn half a continent with a flick of her wrist?"
Adam chuckled, raising an eyebrow.
"That's the one. Though, to be fair, she was mostly just yelling at me and being her usual grumpy self."
He didn't mention the part about finding her naked on his bed, or the date she had nervously asked him on. Some things were better left unsaid, especially with Moka's current mood.
Moka's pout returned, but now it was tinged with something deeper, annoyance, maybe, or something closer to hurt. She turned her head away, her silver hair catching the classroom's fluorescent light.
"Tch, you're such a big, stupid idiot."
She muttered, her voice barely audible but dripping with tsundere venom.
"Always chasing after those crazy sisters of yours. Especially Priscilla. And Minerva."
She practically spat the names, her cheeks flushing again as she crossed her arms tighter.
Adam blinked, caught off guard by the shift.
"Whoa, what did I do now?"
He asked, his tone half-amused, half-genuine.
"What has got you so worked up?"
Moka refused to meet his eyes, her lips pursed in a stubborn line.
"Nothing!"
She snapped.
"You're just… you're just dumb, okay? Running around with all these women, building your little harem like it's normal. It's annoying, that's all."
Her voice wavered, betraying the jealousy she had denied moments ago.
Adam couldn't help it, he laughed, a warm, rolling sound that made a few classmates glance over nervously.
"Oh, Moka."
He said, leaning forward, his voice dropping to a playful whisper.
"Are all vampires just passively tsundere or what? You went from cool, stoic kuudere to full-on dere-dere meltdown in, like, ten seconds flat. That's gotta be a record for bipolarness."
Her face went scarlet, her eyes flashing as she whipped her head back to glare at him.
"S-Shut up, you jerk!"
She hissed, her voice low but fierce.
"I'm not tsundere! I'm just… looking out for you, okay? Someone's gotta keep you from getting in over your head with all these dangerous women!"
She paused, her blush deepening as she muttered.
"Especially that Priscilla. She is… she is trouble."
Adam's grin softened, his golden eyes catching the light as he studied her. He knew Moka wasn't wrong, Priscilla was trouble, the kind of trouble that could easily set worlds ablaze. And yeah, maybe he did have a crush on her, and Minerva too, their strength and fire pulling at him in ways he couldn't quite explain.
But Moka, with her stubborn pout and fierce loyalty, was just as much a part of his world. He reached out, gently flicking her forehead, earning a startled yelp.
"You're trouble too, you know."
He said, his voice warm but teasing.
"But I wouldn't have it any other way."
Moka rubbed her forehead, her scowl faltering as her eyes flicked to his, softer now, almost vulnerable.
"Tch, you're so mean, you big meani."
She muttered, but the faintest smile tugged at her lips, a crack in her tsundere armor that mirrored the one he had seen in Priscilla just this morning.
But at that moment the bell rang, shattering the moment, and the classroom erupted into chatter as students scrambled to pack up.
Adam stood, slinging his bag over his shoulder, his mind drifting to the date with Priscilla tonight.
"Well I guess it's time to go home."
