Harem Stealing System-Chapter 24 :Eiden is being abused
Chapter 24: Chapter 24 :Eiden is being abused
Morning came, and Eiden woke up grumpy. The very first thought that came to his mind was "Food."
"I’m famished... must be because I didn’t eat last night," he muttered to himself. He mustered his strength and pulled himself up from the bed. Immediately, he trudged to the bathroom. A bath was non-negotiable especially since he hadn’t taken one yesterday. After brushing his teeth and cleaning up, he took time to groom his face, even though his stomach was practically growling. But appearances were crucial now, especially when it came to the quests. Charm points didn’t just level themselves.
Finally done, he headed downstairs, hoping for a miracle. And there it was a table full of food.
He didn’t hesitate and sat down quickly, diving into breakfast with gusto. His mom, Dally, noticed this display and commented from across the table, "Slow down, you’ll upset your stomach. There’s no need to rush. There’s plenty."
Eiden, mid-bite, looked up and said with his mouth half-full, "Thanks, Mom." She simply smiled and sat down beside him, eating calmly while Eiden continued demolishing his plate like a man on a mission. Once he was done, he stood up, wiped his mouth, and said, "That was delicious. Love you, Mom."
Grabbing his bag, he made his way toward the door. She watched his figure fade through the doorway and, smiling warmly, whispered, "Stay safe."
As he walked, Eiden opened up his mental interface and asked, "System-chan, give me the progress of every quest."
Ding!
Lyra: 86%
Mika: 50%
Arin: 50%
Eiden frowned slightly. "System-chan, is there a chance the 50% could decrease?" Ding!
No. Once the 50% threshold is reached, the target’s bond with the previous harem owner is considered broken. The system ensures that they cannot mend the relationship again. However, if the progress is below 50%, say 30% or 49%, it may decrease over time depending on the target’s feelings toward the original harem owner.
He nodded thoughtfully. "So if it’s below 50%, it’s volatile. But once it’s 50%, it locks in my favor." Affirmative. "And... what about 100%? Can that ever go down?" Ding!
It can, but it’s extremely difficult. Even if you were to mistreat or harass the target, their love wouldn’t easily fade. Only significant betrayal or prolonged emotional harm could lower affection from 100%.
Eiden absorbed the information, mulling over his stats, when .....BAM!! A heavy slap landed on his back. The impact almost knocked the wind out of him. "What the ?!"
He turned around in shock. "Deuel?! What the hell, man? That hurts!"
Deuel grinned and wrapped his arm around Eiden’s neck, locking him in a mock chokehold. "How dare you hide it from us?! And you dare run away?! You son of a b*tch!"
Eiden groaned internally. Crap... I forgot about these guys.
"Let me go, damn it! That hurts!" he protested, trying to break free. "Nahhhhh," Deuel said dramatically, tightening his grip. "You might run again. Who knows?"
A voice came from in front of them. "He ain’t running anywhere." John had joined them. He had seen them from afar and walked over to confront Eiden. "That time you got away because you caught me off-guard," John said in an annoyed tone. "This time, you won’t escape."
That wasn’t an empty threat. John was taller, more athletic, and his longer legs made him much faster than Eiden. Eiden didn’t jog or exercise. Escape was not an option. Knowing this, Deuel finally let go.
Eiden sighed with relief and rubbed his sore neck. He looked at both of them, who were clearly expecting an explanation. Resigned, he gave them the same story he had told Sasha.
They were skeptical, of course. But the alternatives they had discussed alien, secret idol, or doppelgänger were far more ridiculous. In the end, they had no choice but to accept it. "Make sure you tell this to the others too," Deuel said, "so I don’t have to hook your neck every damn time."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever," Eiden replied. freёweɓnovel_com
When they reached college, they spotted Harry, but he didn’t notice them. He was too busy scrolling on his phone while heading to class. John and Deuel were in his class. Eiden, however, had to go alone.
After the lecture ended, he headed to the cafeteria for a snack. His eyes darted around as he walked, searching for Lyra but she was nowhere in sight. He didn’t go out of his way either, figuring she was probably with Linda. No need to walk into that awkwardness.
He bought some sweet bread and headed toward the vending machines to grab a drink. That’s when he spotted Sasha, buying drinks from the machine. A devilish idea popped into his head. He crept up behind her and whispered into her ear, "Boo!"
"Ahhh!!"
Sasha jumped in fright and reflexively slapped Eiden across the face. Thud! Eiden stumbled back and landed on the floor. Clutching his cheek, he groaned, "What is with that reaction?!"
"That’s what you get for pulling that sh*t behind my back!" she snapped. "You deserved that." He got up, still rubbing his stinging face. "What are you? A gorilla?!"
Sasha balled her fist. "Want a taste of this next?!"
"Hey, calm down! It was a joke!" Eiden backed away defensively. A new voice chimed in. "Last night, we watched a horror film. She’s a bit sensitive right now." It was Crysty. "I’m not sensitive!" Sasha barked. "You are!"
"You were practically hiding behind the pillow," Crysty said flatly. Eiden suddenly remembered how Sasha was always weak to horror. Even the lamest ghost story used to make her wet herself as a kid.
As if she heard his thoughts, Sasha raised her fist again, ready to punch. "I didn’t say anything!" Eiden protested.
"But you thought something," she snapped.
"No fair!" he replied. Crysty stepped in with a sigh. "Now, now, let’s go, Sasha."
She grabbed Sasha’s raised fist and dragged her away. "Pheww... I’m saved," Eiden muttered, finally sipping his drink and munching on the sweet bread before heading back to class.
The lecture went by without any events. When class ended, he stepped out and spotted Harry, Deuel, John, and Petter walking together. He jogged toward them, waving. "Hey, wait up!" They noticed him and stopped.
As he joined them, Harry said, "You know, I was really surprised at the party." Eiden chuckled. "It was nothing." "I missed out, man," Petter said. "Was it really that good?"
"Yes," Harry confirmed. "It was quite impressive."
"Don’t praise him too much," Deuel cut in. "His nose is getting longer." As they continued their banter, Eiden’s eyes wandered and spotted Lyra walking with her friends. She noticed him too. For a moment, their eyes met. She gave a barely noticeable wave and smiled shyly. Eiden nodded and smiled back. She then turned and continued walking with her group.
But something nagged him. Wait... I don’t think I saw Linda in that group just now...
The realization was cut short by a sudden silence. It was too quiet.
He turned his head and noticed all of his friends were staring at him. Then !! A hand grabbed his collar. It was Petter. Tears welled in his eyes, but it wasn’t sadness it was envy. Jealousy. Rage. With trembling lips and shaking voice, he shouted
"What the hell was that, you motherf*cka?! Why was she smiling and waving at you like that?! Huh?! WHY?!!" Eiden glanced around, looking for help or a lifeline. Deuel’s eyes were wide open in disbelief, Harry’s mouth hung agape. And John... John was mysteriously quiet, deep in thought, hand on his chin.
That’s when it hit Eiden. They all saw it ?
Ohh crap!!
