Entering Apocalypse in Easy-Mode-Chapter 601: Sheer Power
Clyde stood over the fallen shield-bearer for only a brief moment.
The orange mist still coiled tightly around his body feeding into the storm of lightning that surged along his veins. He could feel it clearly now. The energy coming from the Demonic Sword was not gentle. It burned.
It spread through him like fire hidden beneath his skin, hot and relentless, merging with his lightning and that made his power feel heavier and more dangerous than before. His veins throbbed with it. His movements carried that heat and that unnatural force from Hell realm.
This was not something a normal human could wield. Clyde knew that.
A faint thought crossed his mind. A warning. Power like this did not come without a price. The Demonic Sword was not just a weapon. Something behind it existed. Something that could notice his presence again.
He might already be drawing attention.
But he pushed the thought aside because right now, none of that mattered.
His eyes locked forward. Only the enemies in front of him mattered.
The ground beneath his feet cracked when he moved again.
Lightning burst everywhere as his body shot forward leaving a streak of white-blue energy tearing across the battlefield. The air distorted around him as he closed the distance toward the caster.
She saw him coming. Her expression filled with panic that flashed across her face.
She raised both hands and released everything she had.
Fire erupted. Multiple fireballs formed and launched in rapid succession, filling the space between them. Behind them came layers of magic circles, releasing sharp projectiles, waves of force, and condensed bursts of energy meant to stop him at any cost.
The battlefield lit up with her attacks.
Clyde did not slow down. His sword moved. Lightning surged violently like whips with each swing as he cut through the incoming spells.
The fireballs exploded before reaching him. They were split apart by precise strikes. Energy projectiles shattered against arcs of lightning that lashed outward from his body.
He advanced straight through everything. His crackling step closed the distance further.
The caster’s eyes widened as her attacks failed to stop him.
Then he was already there.
Clyde stepped into her range. His sword moved in a single clean slash.
The blade passed through her neck before she could react.
For a few seconds, her body remained standing. Then her head separated, falling from her shoulders as the rest of her body collapsed after it.
"No!"
The spear-wielder’s voice broke out filled with rage and disbelief as he saw her dead.
That moment of distraction was enough.
Mina moved. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
She stepped in fast. Her daggers flashing as she struck without hesitation. One blade cut across his leg, forcing it to give out beneath him. The second followed immediately, carving across his body.
The spear-wielder staggered.
His balance broke completely and he fell to the ground hard.
He was still alive. But his body could no longer fight.
Clyde arrived beside him a moment later, lightning still flickering around his body. He stood next to Mina, both of them looking down at the man from above.
The spear-wielder coughed and blood spilling from his mouth as he forced out a weak grin.
"So... this is it, huh..." he said, his voice rough and uneven. He let out a breath, his eyes unfocused but calm. "I’m not regretful... The world’s already become hell... I’m glad I die now."
Clyde said nothing.
He simply gave a small nod toward Mina.
Mina stepped forward and killed the man.
For a few seconds after the spear-wielder’s body went still, the battlefield fell into an uneasy silence. They were too tired to do anything.
The crackle of lightning around Clyde gradually softened, though it never truly disappeared. Faint arcs still crawled along his arms and across the surface of the Demonic Sword while the pale orange mist slowly thinned as its energy settled within him.
The heat in his veins remained as a lingering reminder of the power he had just forced into motion.
Mina sighed quietly. Her grip on her daggers loosened slightly as the tension left her shoulders. The adrenaline that had carried her through the fight began to fade, leaving behind the dull ache of her injuries.
Clyde glanced at her.
"We need to move again," he said, his voice sounding tired.
Mina nodded immediately. She understood without needing further explanation. This kind of battle would not go unnoticed. The noise, the destruction, and the energy they had released would draw others.
"Yeah," she replied. "If more come now, it’s going to get worse for us."
Clyde shifted his gaze across the ruined battlefield one last time.
Broken bodies, shattered concrete, scorched ground. There was nothing left here for them.
"Let’s disappear now before they come again."
Mina adjusted her stance, testing her leg. The potion had done enough. It still hurt, but she could move.
"I’m good to go," she said.
Without wasting another second, they turned away from the rubble that had once been a towering building. Their steps were quick as they moved through the wreckage, weaving between collapsed structures and broken streets.
Clyde led slightly ahead. His senses were still sharp for any danger. While Mina followed closely behind, scanning their surroundings.
The dust began to settle behind them as they left the battlefield.
They did not look back.
Not far from where the fight had ended, two figures remained hidden among the ruins.
Sean and Conmor stood in silence, their bodies partially concealed behind a wall. Neither of them moved for a while.
They had seen everything.
Sean’s expression was tight, his eyes still fixed on the direction Clyde had gone. The image of that final strike, his speed, and his overwhelming force replayed in his mind whether he wanted it to or not.
Conmor let out a slow breath, his face more composed but no less serious. His gaze lowered briefly to the ground before lifting again.
"He wasn’t just using normal magic power like us," Sean muttered.
Conmor didn’t answer immediately.
Because there was nothing to say about what they had just witnessed.
The way Clyde moved, how he cut through everything without hesitation with his brilliant lightning power. They both still remembers the sheer intensity of his power
It wasn’t just strength but something else entirely. Something far more dangerous and mysterious.
Sean clenched his jaw slightly.
"If we run into him..."
He didn’t finish the sentence.
Conmor’s silence was answer enough.
For the first time since entering this broken city to look for the Apex, hesitation had taken root between them.
