Chapter 252: The Pain of the Flames

Third person POV

Liam advanced without hesitation, after all, he was confident in his own victory. However, each of his steps seemed to weigh like thunder in Aeris’s ears.

The flames enveloping his body burned in an intense orange hue, the heat making the air between them vibrate as if the warehouse itself were melting.

Aeris gritted his teeth, raising the knife once more and lunging forward in a desperate attack. Liam didn’t move until the last instant.

Then, with a minimal body dodge, he grabbed the enemy’s arm and twisted it with brutality. The dry sound of the bone being strained made Aeris scream.

"Did you really believe you could beat me?" Liam growled, before delivering a direct punch to Aeris’s face.

But the worst part would come next. The flames that Liam had created around his body spread to every point of contact, leaving the tyrant’s skin marked, the flesh scorched around the cheek.

However, this wasn’t a normal fire; on one hand, the burns caused were small, almost like a cold fire. On the other hand, the pain felt was unbearable. After all, these were flames of punishment.

Aeris staggered but didn’t fall. He tried to slash Liam in a horizontal arc, but the blow was easily blocked. Liam gripped the armed wrist and, with his knee, crushed Aeris’s stomach.

The explosion of pain was accompanied by a muffled crack and a flash of fire that left a glowing mark on the enemy’s clothes and skin.

The man bellowed in pain, taking several steps back. His mind seemed to spin, and he could barely stay on his feet. Even so, the man didn’t know when to give up; he wouldn’t accept his paradise being destroyed.

"I’m going to kill you! I’m going to cut you into pieces, you bastard!" Aeris bellowed in a terrifying roar.

Once again, he advanced aggressively, trying to kill Liam, but it was clear that nothing had changed. Just rage wouldn’t change anything at all, and trying the same attacks expecting different results was merely stupidity.

Liam dodged with ease and counterattacked whenever he saw an opening. Naturally, each attack was accompanied by his fire, which made his opponent scream desperately in pain.

Each punch, each kick left not only bruises but burns that spread in irregular patterns across Aeris’s body. He screamed, roared in rage and despair, but his fury became increasingly impotent in the face of Liam’s brutal calm.

"I’m going to... kill you!" Aeris roared, spitting blood as he tried to thrust again.

Liam dodged, grabbed the enemy’s arm, and pulled it downward, before smashing his face against the concrete floor. Flames exploded on impact, scorching the ground and leaving Aeris’s skin crackling and dark, like charred wood.

"You’re already dead. You just haven’t realized it yet." Liam’s voice was low, almost cold.

He lifted him by the collar, only to deliver another punch to the chest. The blow burned the flesh and fabric, the smell of charred meat filling the warehouse.

Aeris screamed, but the sound was muffled by the next kick, a sweep that launched him against a wall, cracking the concrete.

The slaves, trapped by fear and anticipation, watched in silence. In their eyes, it was possible to see how they silently rooted for the death of their tyrant.

That said, desperate and with no more options, an idea flashed in Aeris’s mind. So he took a few steps back, distancing himself from Liam.

Then he bellowed his orders:

"Grab the girl in the cell and use her as a hostage!" He was referring to Clara. Liam had gone through all this effort just to save her, so she would probably make a good hostage.

"If you move a single muscle, my slaves will mutilate that damned girl, so stay right there!" Aeris shouted, noticing how Liam seemed about to react.

Worried about what would happen, Liam stood still. He wasn’t sure how to react, but his first instinct was to look around to find where Clara was.

And it was at that moment that he noticed something: no one was moving. Not a single one of the servants seemed to have any intention of obeying that man’s orders.

Noticing this, Aeris snorted, an unimaginable hatred burning in his chest. To him, animals existed only to obey humans, which is why he wanted half-animal girls. He wanted slaves who would obey him unconditionally.

"I’m going to kill all of you, how dare you disobey me!" His voice echoed irritably, then he pulled the phone from his pocket. "And don’t you dare take a step toward me; I can kill that damned girl using this!"

Aeris was desperate; if Liam was willing to sacrifice Clara, he would be dead. Even so, he bet everything on that threat, opening the app.

However, it was at that moment that Jasmin arrived, carrying Amber in her arms. And in an instant, she appeared at her master’s side.

"You finally arrived, you useless whore," Aeris murmured with relief. "Help me kill that useless one. And all of you, know that those who didn’t help me will be killed in the most terrible way."

"Amber..." Liam murmured and clenched his fists upon noticing that another one of his girls had been captured.

However, what happened next surprised him. Instead of obeying the orders given to her, Jasmin spun gracefully, landing a kick precisely on Aeris’s phone, destroying the object.

According to the app’s rules, the girls created by him couldn’t attack their master directly. But Jasmin had secretly tested the limits of that rule and discovered that, within a certain limit, she had the freedom to do as she pleased.

"Boy, please, kill our master!" Jasmin implored, seeing this as the moment when she would finally have her freedom.

She didn’t need to ask twice.

In an instant, Liam appeared in front of Aeris. After everything that had happened, he decided he wouldn’t drag it out anymore: he needed to kill his enemy once and for all.

Liam grabbed the man’s neck with force, slamming him against the ground. Then his flames spread, enveloping Aeris’s body completely.

For about ten minutes, Aeris’s guttural screams echoed through the warehouse as his body was slowly consumed by the flames.

Aeris begged several times for Liam to just kill him at once, but the boy wouldn’t allow his death to be easy.
