Grinding EXP From Fireball Skill-Chapter 92: Second Dream World
Li Wei returned to his room.
He sat at his desk, gazing at the blue sky outside as he mulled things over.
’Based on what happened in the Dream World, there’s a greater than ninety percent chance that Lilith and Lilia are the same person.’
’But she didn’t recognize me...’
Li Wei gently tapped his fingers on the desk, creating a rhythmic sound.
’Does that mean Lilia’s and Lilith’s memories might not be connected?’
’No, that’s not right. If their memories aren’t connected, how would Lilith know my characteristics?’
’Are their memories partially connected?’ Li Wei thought this was the most likely possibility.
Because Lilia had helped Li Wei turn in the Rock Demon Beast slaying quest, countless people in Maple City now had their eyes on her.
Her situation was perilous.
This had forced out the other person within her, "Lilith."
Lilith had likely realized who was responsible for putting her in such a dangerous situation. As a result, Li Wei had left a deep impression on her subconscious.
This deep impression allowed her to vaguely recall some memories related to him.
She knew he was young and skilled in Fire Element Magic, but she didn’t know what he looked like.
Compared to his appearance, the first two traits were much easier to remember.
Li Wei wasn’t sure if Lilith was looking for him to get revenge or to expose the fact that he possessed the Rock Demon Beast’s Demon Core, thereby resolving her own crisis.
Compared to the naive Lilia, who was being hunted and fled everywhere, clueless about what was happening, Lilith was undoubtedly far more intelligent. She had pieced together the subtle clues to find the real culprit.
Given the current situation, Li Wei decided to lay low for a while.
For the next few days, he stayed in his room, focusing on his Cultivation.
When he needed to eat, he sent the Shadow Attendant to get food. When he wanted to borrow a book, he had a Magic Servant deliver it.
「Three days later.」
After some intense grinding, Li Wei’s Mage’s Hand reached the Great Success Level.
[Mage’s Hand (Tier Zero Great Success)] 0/8000
’Thank goodness I can practice in the Dream World. Otherwise, who knows how long it would have taken to grind Mage’s Hand to the Great Success Level.’
Spending several months grinding a Tier Zero Magic spell was something Li Wei might have been willing to do in the past. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
He didn’t have a choice back then.
But now, given the option, he would probably choose a Tier One Magic spell that was more suitable for him.
After all, a few months was a very long time.
「In the Dream World.」
Li Wei cast Mage’s Hand, and a pale blue hand made of Mana appeared before him.
With a single thought, he poured more Mana into it.
The Mage’s Hand swelled in size, instantly transforming into a giant hand large enough to grab a table.
BOOM!
The Mage’s Hand seized the desk in the room and crushed it.
Wood shattered, and splinters flew everywhere.
Li Wei smiled.
With the help of Basic Level Mana Control, once Mage’s Hand reached the Great Success Level, he could expend extra Mana to create an even larger and more powerful version.
In terms of sheer Power, it was now strong enough to deal with a Tier One Professional.
However, the flaw of its slow Flying speed remained unsolved.
At the Great Success Level, the Mage’s Hand moved at three meters per second when empty-handed.
Its speed while carrying a load, on the other hand, was not significantly affected thanks to its immense increase in Power, unless it was lifting an extremely heavy object.
Li Wei kept creating heavier objects to test the upper limit of the Mage’s Hand’s Power.
He finally determined that its maximum carrying capacity had reached an astonishing three thousand, three hundred pounds.
Lifting a heavy object and dropping it on someone from a great height might have some unexpected results.
But it could only be used to smash people, not throw heavy objects.
Mage’s Hand was not a real hand, after all. It could only grab, drag, and move objects; it couldn’t throw, hurl, or launch them.
’The Object Control Skill... there’s hope for it!’
’The potential of Mage’s Hand is actually quite significant.’
After testing the Great Success Level Mage’s Hand, Li Wei pushed open the door and walked out of the safe house.
Maple City seemed to be bustling lately; the number of dreams in the vicinity had increased.
This meant that a lot of people had recently flocked to Maple City.
The more turmoil there was in reality, the higher the probability of Nightmares appearing.
When the number of people affected by the turmoil reached a certain level, a large-scale dream would form from the fusion of multiple individual dreams.
To be honest, Li Wei was rather looking forward to the Maple City dreams evolving into a large-scale Nightmare dreamscape, like the one in Cold Sand City.
This would mean a significant increase in his rate of gains in the Dream World.
Although, it was a bit wrong to think that way.
’Hm? A Nightmare!’
Just as Li Wei stepped outside, he saw a dream that a Nightmare had targeted.
He stepped into the Dream Bubble and found himself in a damp, dark dungeon.
"AHHHH..."
A bloodcurdling scream echoed from the end of the dungeon corridor.
Li Wei’s eyes narrowed slightly. ’The punishment Nightmare of some prisoner?’
"Shadow Attendant."
Upon hearing the command, the Shadow Attendant moved ahead to scout the path without needing further instruction.
Now, clad in the Nine-Layered Invisible Armor, the Shadow Attendant’s Defense Power was astounding.
It could even hold its own against a Tier Three enemy for a short while.
Before long, Li Wei reached the end of the corridor and saw a Beastman tied to a cross, being tortured.
A Prison Guard, shrouded in the gray mist of a Nightmare, brandished a bloody whip, relentlessly lashing the Beastman and forcing shrill screams from its throat.
Each time the Beastman screamed, the Nightmare Prison Guard would take a deep breath, an expression of ecstasy on its face.
It was savoring the Power of Nightmare generated by the Beastman prisoner’s torment.
When the Shadow Attendant arrived, the Nightmare Prison Guard sensed the aura of a fellow creature.
It turned its head toward the Shadow Attendant, revealing a ghastly smile.
It swung its spiked whip at the Shadow Attendant.
It had no desire to share its feast with another of its kind.
WHOOSH!
As the whip flew through the air, it rapidly expanded, transforming into a giant, spike-covered python that coiled toward the Shadow Attendant.
If the Shadow Attendant didn’t retreat, it would be crushed by the python, exposing its Nightmare Core.
The Shadow Attendant ignored the attack completely, allowing the whip-turned-python to wrap around its body as it walked step-by-step toward the Nightmare Prison Guard.
CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
The whip tightened relentlessly, its collision with the Invisible Armor producing cracking sounds. The spikes broke off, yet they couldn’t penetrate the Invisible Armor.
Seeing this, the Nightmare Prison Guard let out a furious roar.
It reverted to its true form, transforming into a cloud of gray mist and lunging at the Shadow Attendant.
Just as the Shadow Attendant was about to engage the Nightmare Prison Guard in battle...
WHOOSH! BOOM!
A Fireball flew over and shattered the mist-formed Nightmare Prison Guard, revealing a Nightmare Core.
The Shadow Attendant snatched the Nightmare Core and looked at Li Wei with an expression of longing.
Li Wei glanced at the progress of his Great Dream Traveling Skill.
"I’ll give it to you next time."
Hearing this, the Shadow Attendant crushed the Nightmare Core in its hand.
A stream of light flew into Li Wei’s body.
[Great Dream Traveling Skill (Tier One)] 0/10000
The Great Dream Traveling Skill had advanced to Tier One.
In an instant, Li Wei felt a massive change in the dreamscape around him.
He felt as if everything around him was separated by a pane of glass.
Breaking that glass would reveal another world.
’The Second Dream World?’
Li Wei’s expression turned thoughtful.
He recalled his Shadow Attendant, activated the Great Dream Traveling Skill, and passed through the "glass" into the Second Dream World.
BOOM! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
The Dream Bubble shattered, and Li Wei felt his body sinking continuously.
The Shadow Attendant’s form trembled violently before disappearing.
Feeling that the Shadow Attendant’s core was still within his body, Li Wei breathed a sigh of relief.
WHOOSH!
After a long while, he Fell into the River of Dreams.
