Grinding EXP From Fireball Skill-Chapter 90: Shadow Mage Lilith
Li Wei invited Gu Ze in and asked, "Teacher Gu Ze, is there something you need?"
Gu Ze said, "I came to tell you something."
"On July 15th, the Mage Association is holding a mage exchange in Flying Flower City. It will last for half a month. Mages from all over the Northern Territory will gather there. It’s a grand event you won’t want to miss."
"This year, the prize for first place in the Young Mage League is the incredibly precious Elf Spring Water."
"Besides the competition between the younger generation of mages, there will also be a trade fair. At the fair, you can find many rare materials, scarce Magic Potions, and valuable Magic Equipment that are usually hard to come by."
"You’ve already broken through to Tier One and become an Official Mage, so you’re eligible to participate in the Young Mage League. Although your chances of winning are slim, it’s a good opportunity to see the world."
"Anyway, at your age, you’ll be able to participate in the Young Mage League three more times in the future. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to go and get some experience first."
Li Wei had heard of the Young Mage League.
The Young Mage League was held once every three years. The requirements for entry were to be a Tier One Official Mage, aged twenty-five or younger.
Li Wei was, of course, well aware of the famed Elf Spring Water.
The Elf Spring, also known as the Magic Spring.
It was a precious treasure capable of improving a Mage’s cultivation aptitude.
The first time it was used, it could greatly enhance a Mage’s Elemental Affinity.
Legend had it that the reason the Elf Race were natural-born Mages was because the World Tree, where the first Elves grew, had its roots in the Elf Spring.
The Elf Spring was located in the heartland of the Elf Race Empire, a place nearly impossible for humans to reach.
Only a very small amount of Elf Spring Water circulated in the outside world.
Hearing this, Li Wei’s heart couldn’t help but skip a beat.
’Elf Spring Water is such a rare treasure!’
Gu Ze told Li Wei about this mainly to encourage him to broaden his horizons, so he wouldn’t just coop himself up in the Mage Tower to cultivate all day long.
He didn’t think Li Wei had a chance of taking first place.
A sixteen-year-old Tier One Mage prodigy like Li Wei was extremely rare.
The problem was, Li Wei’s opponents would be much older and have been cultivating for much longer than him.
In previous years, there had been no shortage of genius Mages who had reached Tier Two before the age of twenty-five.
Since this year’s prize was Elf Spring Water, it was sure to attract even more genius Mages to compete.
The level of competition would be higher than in previous years.
He had watched the competition three years ago. Back then, he was still an Apprentice Mage and wasn’t qualified to participate.
He felt a deep sense of regret over it.
Gu Ze was already twenty-seven, past the age limit for participation.
Since he couldn’t compete himself, he hoped to see Li Wei participate, which would make up for some of his own regrets.
Gu Ze asked, "So? If you want to go, I can help you register."
Li Wei nodded and said, "I’ll go."
"Good."
Gu Ze glanced at Li Wei. "When do you plan on revealing your strength?"
Li Wei replied, "It’s still too early. I’ll wait for the right time."
Gu Ze nodded. "Alright, you can decide that for yourself."
"Oh, right. A new Official Mage recently arrived at the Mage Tower. She’s a rare Shadow Mage named Lilith."
"I heard she’s looking for someone—a Fire Element Mage. From her description, it sounds a bit like she’s looking for you. Do you know her?" Gu Ze asked.
Li Wei shook his head. "I don’t know her. Why would she be looking for me?"
Gu Ze said, "I’m not sure. Just be careful."
After Gu Ze left, Li Wei returned to his room.
’A Shadow Mage, Shadow Tentacles?’
’Lilith? Lilia? Is there a connection between them?’
Li Wei wondered.
If Gu Ze hadn’t mentioned that Lilith was a Shadow Mage, Li Wei wouldn’t have made the connection to Lilia.

Li Wei glanced at his cultivation progress and stopped to rest for a moment.
He turned his head and saw the door he hadn’t opened in a long time.
An idea stirred in his mind.
’Can I see Lilith’s dream?’
He walked to the door and pushed it open.
Beyond the door, a thick fog churned, and farther out was a patch of darkness.
The darkness writhed slowly, as if it were alive.
Stepping out of the room, the surrounding fog quickly dissipated, revealing a thirteen-meter field of vision.
The visible distance in the Dream World was the maximum range of Li Wei’s Spiritual Power.
Li Wei walked through the mist, heading in a certain direction.
Vaguely, he could sense the direction of the dreams.
After a short while, he saw a dream.
It was a sweet dream of prosperity and wealth.
Li Wei stood at the edge of the dream, watching for a moment before walking away without entering.
This was not the dream he was looking for.
The dreams people had while sleeping floated in the Dream World like colorful bubbles.
Suddenly, he spotted a darkly colored Dream Bubble.
Li Wei felt a pull and sensed that this was Lilith’s Dream Bubble.
’Are the dreams of a Shadow Mage always this dark?’
Li Wei stood at the edge of the Dream Bubble, and after confirming his feeling several times, he stepped into the dream.
The moment he crossed the dream’s border, the surrounding scenery changed instantly.
He was standing in the corner of a dilapidated alley.
The alley was filled with trash and filth.
Li Wei scanned his surroundings, and with a thought, he flew up into the air.
Only after reaching a high point in the dream could he get a clear view of its overall appearance.
The entire dream was a single street in a slum.
The environment was incredibly complex; even from above, he couldn’t see the whole picture.
A figure flashed past on the street below.
Li Wei locked onto the figure.
There were other people in the dream, but they were all blurry background figures.
Most of the background figures were motionless.
The one who could move quickly in the dream was most likely the dream’s protagonist.
Li Wei descended and approached under Invisibility.
Through a window, he saw a figure inside. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Lilia was emptying a pile of miscellaneous items from her pocket, joyfully taking inventory.
"I found so much good stuff today."
"Wow! There’s even a Silver Coin! My luck is just too good!"
Lilia picked up the black cat lying on the table and laughed happily. "Bun, you must be the one bringing me all this good luck!"
"Ever since I found you, my luck has been great."
"Tomorrow, I’ll treat you to some meat buns."
BAM!
The door was smashed open with tremendous force.
A burly man in worn-out, broken armor stood in the doorway, holding a wood-chopping axe full of nicks.
"My luck is pretty good, running into a cat-eared Half-Beastman."
"Little one, come with uncle, and you’ll live a life of luxury from now on."
The burly man blocked the doorway and moved toward Lilia.
Lilia clutched Bun and held the Silver Coin tightly, her body tense with anxiety.
She looked left and right, searching for a chance to escape.
Seeing the man move away from the doorway, she seized the opportunity, throwing the black cat toward the window as she bolted for the door.
"Bun, run!"
The man reached for Lilia, but though she was small and thin, she was incredibly agile.
The burly man couldn’t catch her at all.
Instead, Lilia took advantage of an opening to slip past him and escape the room.
The burly man chased out of the room, watching as Lilia fled and disappeared.
He cursed angrily, then turned his head and saw the black cat.
He raised his axe and swung it at the black cat, venting his frustration.
"Bun!"
The fleeing Lilia suddenly returned, shouting in panic.
Seeing this, the man reduced the power in his swing, injuring the black cat’s hind leg.
He grabbed the black cat and threatened Lilia.
"Come here quietly, or I’ll kill it!"
"No, don’t hurt Bun!"
