Chapter 220: Chapter 214: The Thunder Dragon Duke Arrives in Person

Raylo was even preparing to sound the horn.

Just then, another, completely different aura quietly rose from the ranks of the Thunder Dragon Duchy.

If Galio’s aura was the scorching summer sun that incinerates all things, then this new aura was the biting winter that freezes heaven and earth.

It was cold, profound, and carried a glacial chill that seemed to freeze all creation.

A Knight, also clad in silver-white Heavy Armor and a snow-white cloak, rode his mount slowly out from the formation.

His mount was a snow-white Giant Bear. With every breath, it exhaled a puff of white, frosty air, and a thin layer of frost formed on the ground wherever its massive paws stepped.

He removed his helmet, revealing the chiseled, naturally imposing face of a middle-aged man. His eyes were like the calm, waveless ice seas of the Far North Land.

"Vice Commander Elvin, ’Frosty Winter’!"

Ed let out a surprised gasp.

The tension in Raylo’s body eased slightly.

’So the Duchy was prepared all along.’

The Thunder Dragon Knight Order had two Vice Commanders: Luke, "Iron Blood," who led external offensives, and Elvin, "Frosty Winter," who guarded the main army from within.

The two were the Thunder Dragon Duke’s most trusted right and left hands.

Elvin ignored the commotion around him. He simply watched the rapidly approaching Galio and slowly raised the Knight’s Long Spear in his hand.

Frosty energy gathered at the tip of the spear, forming a piercing point of ice-blue light.

"Galio."

Elvin’s voice rang out.

"You’ve crossed the line."

"HAHAHAHA!"

Galio’s wild laughter was like a clap of thunder.

"Elvin! You stinking, ten-thousand-year-old block of ice, you dare to stop me? Today, I’ll burn you and that stupid bear of yours to ashes!"

Before his voice had even faded, he was already within a hundred meters.

"Red Flame Domain!"

Galio roared, and an invisible field of scorching heat erupted from him!

The ground instantly turned scorched and dry, and the air warped as if it were about to ignite.

Raylo’s mouth went dry, and even Baofeng shook his head in irritation.

Facing this world-burning aura, Elvin simply spurred his Giant Bear forward to meet the charge.

"Frost Domain."

There was no earth-shattering roar, only a calm statement.

A chilling cold spread out from Elvin, meeting the heat head-on.

The two diametrically opposed Domain Powers collided violently in the open space between the two armies!

There was no sound, but everyone witnessed a strange spectacle.

In the center of the battlefield, one half of the air twisted and rose like a midsummer mirage; the other half condensed into countless fine ice crystals that shimmered with rainbow light under the sun.

Heat and cold, red and white, fury and tranquility.

The two ultimate Powers crushed and annihilated each other, forming a dividing line where they met—a line that was both distinct and chaotic.

Half the earth was cracked, the other half was white with frost.

Half the sky was a crimson sun, the other half was falling snow.

The common soldiers couldn’t even stand in the aftershocks of this power and scrambled to retreat, leaving only the two god-like figures in the cleared-out space.

"You stinking block of ice, come on, let’s settle this!"

Galio roared as the Knight’s Lance in his hand erupted in blazing flames, transforming into a massive Flaming Whip that tore through the air, whistling sharply as it lashed toward Elvin.

Elvin’s expression remained unchanged as he casually thrust his Long Spear forward.

TING!

A crisp sound of metal on metal rang out.

The tip of the spear struck the end of the Flaming Whip with perfect precision.

There was no earth-shattering explosion, only the silent dissolution of fire and ice.

Galio’s violent Flame Fighting Spirit, upon contact with that single point of ultimate ice-blue, was instantly extinguished as if it had met its nemesis.

His first strike having failed, Galio’s expression shifted. His Flaming Warhorse reared up, and the violent Flame Power began to gather once more.

Elvin, however, sat firmly on his mount, his body as still as an icy statue. But the restrained killing intent he exuded was more intimidating than any battle cry.

Watching from the high platform, Raylo was utterly captivated.

’These are the truly supreme powerhouses, able to alter the weather and divide the battlefield with a mere gesture.’

The standoff on the battlefield did not end in the earth-shattering duel everyone had expected.

With a tacit understanding, the two withdrew their deployed Domains.

As the two Domain Knights pulled back, the strange phenomenon of ice and fire slowly dissipated. The air in the center of the battlefield returned to normal, leaving behind only the eerie sight of land that was half-scorched black and half-white with frost, a silent testament to the terror of the formless clash that had just occurred.

Raylo let out a long breath. The palm of the hand gripping his sword hilt was slick with sweat.

「On the south bank of the Nu River, atop a temporarily constructed command platform.」

An old general, dressed in Dark Gold General Armor and a cloak embroidered with a golden Fiery Sunburst Emblem, was observing the battle at the floating bridge through a spyglass.

His face was weathered by time, which had carved wrinkles at the corners of his eyes but had also imbued him with a mountain-like stability.

He was the Commander-in-Chief of the Fiery Sun Kingdom’s forces for this campaign: Marshal Valerius, known as the "Undying Sun."

He lowered the spyglass, his face calm and devoid of any emotion.

"Marshal!"

A general with a worried expression hurried forward.

"We’ve lost our position at No.1 Floating Bridge! Elvin, ’Frosty Winter,’ is personally holding the line! We... we can’t take it back!"

Another young, hot-tempered commander knelt on one knee and declared loudly,

"Marshal! I am willing to lead three hundred ’Shining Day’ Personal Guards to retake No.1 Floating Bridge! I swear I will tear down the flag of the Thunder Dragon Duchy!"

Marshal Valerius did not look at him. He simply raised a hand and pointed to the flank of the battlefield.

"I’ll give you all six hundred ’Shining Day’ Personal Guards. Can you take down Luke’s Allied Army on the flank for me?"

Over there, a well-equipped army with distinct banners was searing into the side of the Fiery Sun Kingdom’s army like a red-hot branding iron.

Their assault was fierce and experienced, coordinating with the Northern Lords’ Alliance Army on the main front to tear the Fiery Sun Kingdom’s defensive line to a precarious state.

On that army’s command banner, a roaring Thunder Dragon head was depicted in all its ferocity. Beneath it, the figure of a Knight was distant, but his indomitable, iron-blooded aura of charging headfirst into battle was still clearly discernible even from miles away. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

"Do you see?"

Valerius’s voice was low.

"The moment Luke, ’Iron Blood,’ appeared over there, we had already lost the fight for the Nu River Defense Line."

The young commander who had volunteered for the mission froze. He followed the Marshal’s finger, and the color instantly drained from his face.

"Luke... ’Iron Blood’?"

"The Prince of Karachi has been defeated, ’Blood Lion’ is dead, and ’Radiant Blade’ is missing. We have lost two Domain Knights, while their ’Iron Blood’ Luke has appeared unscathed deep in our flank. The tide of battle has already turned in favor of the Thunder Dragon Duchy. Most importantly, with their gains and our losses, we are now at a definitive disadvantage when it comes to Domain Level Power."

"Furthermore, according to the latest intelligence, Aiden himself has arrived at the Nu River Defense Line. He’s watching us from the other side right now."

Valerius dropped another stunning piece of news.

"If we try to hold on now, we’ll only force the Thunder Dragon Duke to personally enter the fray. At that point, it won’t be a retreat for us—it will be a rout."

The command tent fell into a dead silence. No one dared to speak of a counterattack again.

Everyone knew in their hearts that the Marshal was speaking the truth.

To continue a war where the balance of top-tier power had been lost was a massive gamble, and they no longer had the chips to play.
