Ghost Exorciser: The Oust Fake Heiress Strikes-Chapter 197: Seducing Lana?
"I am not adorable!" he screeched. "I am fear incarnate!"
"Mm-hm." She nodded seriously, then pulled out her phone. "Hold still."
"No... WAIT...!"
Click. The damage was already done.
Mr. Crow slumped onto the bed, completely defeated. "Alright! I accept it! I am sorry! Please don’t take photos anymore or post them! I am ready to offer anything; just delete those photos, please?"
"What a smart crow! Pretty simple, you will delete the photo you have taken and..."
"No!" Mr. Crow shouted, his beak showing his indignation. "Not the photos! Anything else is fine!"
"I will post these photos, Mr. Crow." Lana threatened, and Mr. Crow closed his eyes and said, like a person unafraid to get burnt, "Go ahead and do it!"
At worst, he would change his appearance! Once he transforms into a dragon or phoenix, who would even recognize him?
Lana frowned when she saw his attitude and thought in her mind, ’Just why is he so attached to those photos? Does he want to use it to blackmail me later on?’
Mr. Crow remained silent. Only he knew the answer.
It was a side that Lana hadn’t shown to anyone. A side exclusive to him! And he refused to delete those photos because... he finally got a picture of his master that will remain his... till the very end!
In the end, Lana gave up and teased Mr. Crow. Once she felt satisfied, she and Mr. Crow (who removed the outfit with disgust) went downstairs.
Lucian saw that Lana was in a good mood and teased, "How are you feeling now?"
"Who? Me? Great!" Lana grinned while having breakfast.
"Hm. I have arranged a physical and mental examination for you today. Remember to return to the mansion early today." Lucian stated.
Lana frowned in confusion and asked, "Why? Tomorrow isn’t the 20th..."
Midway through her sentence, Lana shut her mouth while Lucian’s eyes narrowed.
’Shit! Shit!’ Lana thought in her heart. Due to her familiarity with the examinations, she blurted out something only Lucian’s employees knew.
In her past life, all the employees/subordinates of Lucian used to undergo examinations every 3rd month’s 20th!
But in this life, she still hasn’t gotten acquainted with Lucian, so it was strange that she knew this.
Sure enough, the next second, Lucian set his cutlery down with a soft clink.
The sound wasn’t loud, but it landed heavily on Lana’s nerves.
His gaze lifted slowly, sharp and probing, stripping away her carefree grin inch by inch.
"The 20th?" he repeated, his voice calm, too calm. "How do you know that?"
The air around the dining table seemed to tighten.
Mr. Crow froze mid-peck at a piece of fruit, feathers puffing slightly. ’Oh no,’ he thought. ’She slipped.’
Lana felt her scalp prickle. Her fingers tightened around her spoon, but her expression shifted smoothly, almost lazily, as if she hadn’t just stepped on a landmine.
’Think. Calm down. Panic will only make it worse.’
She tilted her head, blinking innocently. "Hm? Isn’t that obvious?"
Lucian’s brows drew together. "Obvious how?"
Lana leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms. "I saw the maids and Lucy leaving on the 20th and returning late. When they returned, all of them had a small injection mark, which was visible to me. After all, I am a mystic cultivator."
Lucian studied her in silence. Seconds stretched.
Lana could feel it... the weight of his scrutiny, as if he were peeling back layers she didn’t even realize she was wearing. Her heartbeat thudded steadily in her ears, but her face remained relaxed, eyes clear.
Finally, Lucian chuckled.
A soft, amused sound escaped his throat. "You’re frighteningly observant."
Lana smiled, relief flickering briefly before she masked it. ’Good. He bought it.’
"Anyhow, remember to return early," Lucian said lightly and continued to eat.
Lana’s hanging heart relaxed while Lucy, who was standing far away, was shocked. From how much she knows Lucian, she knows one thing: he wasn’t the type to accept an explanation so quickly.
It was clear that he didn’t want to put any pressure, and hence he accepted her flawed explanation.
After all, from the moment Lana had come, the servants and Lucy herself hadn’t left for any examination!
Once the breakfast was over, Lana almost had the urge to run away but was stopped by Lucian.
"I will drop you."
"Okay." Lana accepted his proposal without any pretense.
She hardly ever rejects Lucian, even though she is worried that one day he will say the words she is most afraid of.
The ride to the university wasn’t a calm one, as Lucian inquired, "How is your university life going? Are you getting bullied?"
"No! Who can bully me!" Lana stated confidently.
"Hm... If someone dares to... just come to me. I will deal with them for you." Lucian said lightly.
If there was someone else, they might have thought that Lucian was being polite, but only Lana knew... he wasn’t being polite... he was serious.
Lucian never believes in pleasantries...
Suppressing the complex feeling in her heart, she gave a soft ’hm,’ while her eyes were trained on Lucian’s side profile.
He was busy with some work and was focusing on the laptop.
Maybe it was lighting, or maybe it was her presence... but Lucian looked less intimidating and softer.
’Who can resist him if he looks so edible! Sigh! I should have bitten his lips when I was in cat form!’ Lana thought wistfully.
Mr. Crow rolled his eyes and glared at Lucian. ’This bastard has seduced my master!’
If even now, Mr. Crow remained clueless, then he would call himself an idiot!
Earlier, he thought that Lana was a lustful girl, but now... he only feels that she is naive. This demon, Lucian, was using his face card to seduce Lana and repeatedly cared for her and protected her.
It would be strange if Lana didn’t end up falling for him!
The car suddenly came to a halt, and the driver’s voice echoed in the air.
"Boss, Miss Everhart is standing in front of the car."
