Future Beast World: Becoming A Pampered Beauty-Chapter 64 - 38: Feeding the Mermaid 2
In an instant—
Everything was snatched away!
"..."
’I feel like I’m feeding fish from a bridge.’
Sang Luo took out a large handful of jerky from her storage space. This jerky could barely provide her with the nutrients her body needed anymore; it was only good as a snack to satisfy her cravings. Bored, she was feeding the fish, scattering a large handful at a time.
After tossing out a few more handfuls, a flash of silver-blue caught Sang Luo’s eye. She realized that all the jerky she had thrown was going precisely into one person’s mouth.
Was that a... Mermaid?
Under the moonlight, upon the deep blue sea, was a figure with long, damp, silver-blue hair. His misty-blue eyes were slightly upturned at the corners. His features were exquisitely beautiful, his red lips alluring, and his appearance so androgynous it was hard to tell if he was male or female. His bare upper body was as fair as jade, with a few strands of long hair snaking down over his shoulders.
As if sensing the gaze of the female on the ship, he tilted his head and curiously sized up Sang Luo.
His gaze fell on her round belly, and a flash of scorching heat flickered through his eyes.p>
Sang Luo was utterly captivated by the Mermaid’s appearance.
’The rumors about Mermaids serving others with their beauty are really true.’
She had been in the Beast World for so long and had seen all sorts of top-tier handsome men. She thought she’d long been immune to handsome guys, but this face had still caught her off guard and completely mesmerized her.
A sudden urge to tease him arose in Sang Luo’s heart, and she beckoned to him with her finger.
The Mermaid’s eyes lit up, and he immediately swam over.
"HISS!"
The moment he neared the Barrier, it erupted in a brilliant, scorching light, forcing him to retreat a great distance.
"Did someone touch the Barrier?"
Caesar instantly teleported over. He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Sang Luo was unharmed, then frowned and stared grimly at the sea’s surface.
A silver-blue fishtail flashed and vanished into the dark waters.
"The Mermaid Clan... It’s been a while since I’ve seen them." Caesar turned and saw Sang Luo still staring intently in that direction. He smiled gently. "Was he handsome?"
"Ahem, he was good-looking, but not quite on your level! I still prefer your style." Sang Luo leaned in to curry favor, giving him a quick kiss and a sly grin.
Honestly, Caesar was the pinnacle of her aesthetic standards. Cool, handsome, and elegant, yet without a trace of femininity—a true, masculine sort of beauty.
Only then did Caesar look pleased. "Don’t be seduced. The Mermaid race is on the verge of extinction. To continue their lineage, they’ll stop at nothing. They like to use their beauty to lure females from land with high Fertility and trick them into the sea."
"Huh? Can’t they find partners on land?" Sang Luo’s eyes widened.
"Sea Beasts below King Rank cannot leave the Water for long. So they often trick females into the sea. Most of those females’ partners are Land Beasts who can’t enter the sea to save them. Having lost their protectors, the females can only obey and are forced to mate with all the males of the clan, constantly giving birth," Caesar explained grimly.
Sang Luo broke out in a cold sweat. Recalling the beautiful, harmless appearance the Mermaid had just shown, she realized he had been after her belly!
Seeing the lingering fear on her face, Caesar’s lips curled into a light smile. ’Alright, I did exaggerate a little,’ he thought, ’just to keep her from actually falling for one of those coquettish vixens trying to win favor.’
"I used to know a female in the Kordo Tribe who had a Mermaid partner, a Second Rank Mermaid Beast. He wouldn’t secretly trick her into the sea, would he?" Sang Luo shot to her feet at the thought of Li Man. ’I have to go back someday and tell her about this!’
"Second Rank... his power is too low. Her family should have other males watching over her. That Mermaid couldn’t take her away even if he wanted to." Caesar shook his head. "Competition in the Deep Sea is too fierce. If there’s a river nearby, he might not even want to go back."
Sang Luo finally relaxed, thinking that the Mermaid seemed quite loyal to Li Man and probably wouldn’t stoop to abducting a female.
...
A few days later, Sang Luo was eating steamed vermicelli with scallop meat when the cruise ship came to a stop.
Caesar glanced outside, his expression unusually serious. He told her to stay in the room and not come out, then rose and left.
But Sang Luo wasn’t patient enough for that. She sent out her spiritual power to follow him.
Several unfamiliar Beastmen in court attire had appeared on the cruise ship.
They bowed respectfully to Caesar, but their words carried a compulsory tone. "...You are about to cross the boundary between the waters of the East and West Continents. For the safety of you, Admiral, and the noble female, we ask that you both return to the Western Continent as soon as possible."
"For my safety?" Caesar found it laughable, casting a disdainful glare at them.
The Beastmen’s faces changed drastically. They collapsed to their knees, unable to control themselves, as blood began to pour from their eyes, noses, and mouths. It felt as if the blood in their bodies was about to erupt.
