Future Beast World: Becoming A Pampered Beauty-Chapter 63 - 38: Feeding the Mermaid
Caesar knew Sang Luo was just looking for an emotional outlet, so of course he didn’t dare get rough with her. Once he had tended to her until she tired herself out and fell asleep, he carefully coiled his snake tail around her, resting the tip on her belly.
Outside, a storm was raging.
The seas had been rough for the past few days.
It wasn’t the rainy season, and Caesar had specifically chosen a sunny day to set sail. He just had rotten luck, running into one downpour after another.
Sang Luo, who had been sleeping nestled in his arms, was jolted awake by a sudden clap of thunder.
Caesar said, "This storm is no ordinary one. I can feel the fluctuation of a Talent Power."
Sang Luo looked outside as well, but her senses were too dull; she couldn’t detect anything out of the ordinary.
"Are you saying a Beastman is trying to stop us?"
"Not necessarily. I rarely interact with Sea Beasts, and I haven’t made any enemies in this part of the ocean. They would have no reason to pick a fight." Caesar stroked her hair. He’d noticed before how her black hair was as soft and smooth as silk. "It’s the breeding season for many of the Sea Clan’s Beastmen. The power of Water in the nearby seas is in turmoil. Don’t worry, I’ve set up a Space Barrier around us. It won’t affect us."
As he spoke, he erected a Space Barrier, enclosing the entire cruise ship.
The flashes of lightning, the roar of thunder, and the sound of the downpour vanished in an instant. Not even the cold wind from outside could penetrate it.
Caesar shifted her into a more comfortable position to keep her belly from getting bumped. "Go back to sleep."
Sang Luo rubbed her belly and smacked her lips. "Sigh... I’m hungry again."
Caesar quickly retrieved a few Purple Crystals from his storage space for her to eat. Sang Luo had been pregnant for less than a month, yet her appetite was growing ravenously by the day. Ordinary meat no longer satisfied her. No matter how much she ate, she couldn’t quell the feeling of hunger!
Only by eating High Rank Star Beast Meat and consuming Beast Crystals could she barely fill the empty black hole inside her.
"Still hungry?"
Sang Luo felt a dense wave of energy enter her body, only to vanish in an instant. She had no idea where it went, but at least the hunger in her stomach had subsided. "Looks like I’ll have to trouble you to hunt more for me for a while."
"Don’t talk about it being a hardship. I’m a King Beast, after all. You think I can’t provide for my own mate and cub?" Caesar smiled and pinched her cheek, but he was thinking, ’I need to get to the East Continent as soon as possible.’
He was used to a life of extravagance and had never bothered to save any Beast Crystals. His nest egg was indeed a bit shallow and wouldn’t last long.
After several days of wind and rain, the sky finally cleared. Sang Luo came out onto the deck and sat on the railing, soaking up the sun.
She enjoyed the sea breeze, nibbled on some jerky, and swung her legs as her white dress fluttered in the wind.
The ship cut through the water, leaving two trails of churning white waves in its wake. Now and then, spray would splash onto her legs.
Night fell. Beneath the pitch-black surface of the sea, lights flickered in the darkness.
At first, Sang Luo thought it was just some phosphorescent algae reflecting the moonlight. But when she focused her spiritual power to get a closer look, she was horrified to discover pairs upon pairs of hungry, glowing red eyes!
’Shit!’ She was so startled she almost cried out.
The next second, as if they had seen something terrifying, they scattered in all directions.
Caesar walked up from behind her and draped a mink fur cloak over her shoulders. "The night air is chilly. Be careful not to catch a cold."
"What were those things hiding under the water just now?" Sang Luo asked, her heart still pounding.
"Deep Sea Beastmen in heat. The male-to-female ratio is even more skewed in the deep sea. They smelled your scent and swam up to the surface. It’s getting late. Do you want to go back and rest?"
"The breeze feels nice and cool. I’ll stay a little longer, then I’ll head back."
"Alright." Caesar was always indulgent with her. He reached out to stroke her already slightly rounded belly. "Are you hungry again? What would you like to eat? I’ll go tell the galley to prepare something for you."
Sang Luo licked her lips. She was suddenly craving some fresh fish soup. Caesar immediately went to tell the galley to start preparing it.
She looked down at the calm surface of the water. Caesar had only been gone for a moment when, one after another, reckless Sea Beasts began to gather again. More and more appeared until they had practically surrounded the entire cruise ship. A quick glance suggested there were over a thousand of them.
The corner of her mouth twitched. It was enough to trigger someone’s trypophobia.
Sang Luo wasn’t afraid, though. Thanks to the Space Barrier Caesar had created, no Beastman below King Rank could get near. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
These red-eyed, lust-crazed Sea Beasts could only stare from a distance, practically drooling. But no matter how much they coveted her, they would never get a bite of this "monk’s flesh."
Sang Luo casually picked up a few pieces of jerky and tossed them overboard.
