Future Beast World: Becoming A Pampered Beauty-Chapter 316 - 255: Do You Need My Help?
Vanessa sneered, "Is the Saint Heir someone an outsider like you can see just by asking?"
Sang Luo gave a humorless smile. "Oh? Weren’t you the ones who said I was supposed to bear his child? If I can’t even get into his bed, can’t even touch his ’thing,’ how am I supposed to have a baby?"
"Y-You! How can you be so vulgar!" Vanessa’s face flushed beet-red as she glared at her. "According to the Angel Clan’s rites, the Saint Heir will not meet you before the wedding. You will simply wait until after the ceremony to bear children for the Saint Heir."
"Wedding?" Sang Luo’s brow furrowed, and a cold, thin smile touched her lips.
’Have they even bothered to ask my opinion?’
’Get abducted, forced to marry and have a baby without even a single meeting... They treat a female—no, an "excellent vessel"—as something to be sent to bed. Her only mission is to reproduce for the Saint Heir, with no human rights whatsoever!’
’So this is the so-called Holy Hall. Nothing special.’
Sang Luo laughed in anger. "Keeping him so tightly under wraps... Don’t tell me that great Saint Heir has some hidden ailment? A broken arm, a broken leg? Or is he just hideous?"
"How dare you slander the Saint Son!" Vanessa’s eyes bulged with rage.
"What, have you seen him? Is he some peerless beauty? If he were really that great, the females of your Angel Clan would’ve snatched him up long ago. Why would it be my turn, an outsider? And why capture me and lock me up like you’re afraid I’ll run away?"
Vanessa was left speechless. "You..."
’She wasn’t qualified to meet the Saint Heir, and very few had ever seen his true face. But in their hearts, the Saint Heir was like a god. How could she allow an outsider to slander him like this!’
"Alright, I need to rest. You can go," Sang Luo said, dismissing her.
No matter how much Vanessa disliked Sang Luo, they were currently master and servant. She could only shoot her a resentful glance before bowing and leaving.
For several days, the meals Vanessa brought were all cold. The portions grew smaller and smaller, and some of the food was even spoiled. After Vanessa left, Sang Luo would dump it all and eat the jerky and Spirit Fruits from her storage space instead.
’Sang Luo had figured it out long ago. Vanessa’s hands were slender and smooth, not at all like a servant’s. She was more like a noble female from a prestigious family. Besides, no clan would let a young female serve as a maid. Ten to one, Vanessa had volunteered for this, wanting to see for herself what this outsider was all about.’
’Vanessa had been working both openly and secretly these past few days, trying to force her to leave the Holy Hall. She’d even "accidentally" left behind a map of the Holy Hall once.’
A derisive smile flashed in Sang Luo’s eyes. ’That works out perfectly for me.’
The Holy Hall was vast, with a total of nine gates. She scouted them one by one and found them all heavily guarded. A brute-force breakthrough seemed impossible.
As the old saying goes—if you knock down a wall, you’ve made a door.
’If she couldn’t use the doors, she’d go through a wall!’
That day, Sang Luo found a remote, deserted corner. She dusted off her hands. The palace wall didn’t look too high. ’I can definitely climb out!’
She flew halfway up.
BANG! An invisible force struck her, knocking her out of the air.
An Array sealed the sky above the Holy Hall.
Sang Luo patted the dust off her bottom and got up, extremely frustrated. She examined the wall again. The palace walls were built from a special, sturdy type of rock that naturally suppressed powers. That was why she couldn’t use her abilities to leave the Holy Hall.
Unsure if there was another Array set up outside the stone wall, Sang Luo could only say a silent prayer and hope for the best. The power in her palm solidified into a sharp blade as she tried to pierce the wall’s surface.
The power of an Initial Emperor Rank cultivator was considered extremely strong, but whatever the wall was made of, after hacking away at it for ages, she had only managed to scrape off a little dust.
"Who’s there?"
Someone was coming.
Sang Luo quickly turned invisible and returned to her quarters.
For the next several days, Sang Luo snuck out whenever she could to chip away at the wall. Progress was slow, but her power could indeed damage the stone.
Eventually, she found a section of the wall with a fine crack in it, which was less sturdy than the rest.
After hammering at it for several days, she finally managed to create a small hole. Sang Luo was overjoyed. ’There’s hope for escape!’
She scattered a few seeds on the ground and used her Wood Element Power to make them sprout, covering the hole in the wall. This area was rarely visited, so it probably wouldn’t be discovered.
Sang Luo spent a few more days making the hole larger, until it was just about big enough for an adult to pass through.
Seeing no one around, Sang Luo started to squeeze through the hole.
The hole was still a bit small, and squeezing through was a struggle. The downside of having a good figure was that her hips were a little wide. She gave a hard shove forward—heavens, she was stuck!
She tried to back out, but she was wedged in tight. She couldn’t move.
Just then, a curious male voice sounded from behind her.
"What is the noble female doing?"
The voice was clear and refined, laced with a hint of teasing.
Sang Luo’s face turned bright red. ’Someone saw me! This is so humiliating!’
"Do you need help?" the man asked again.
Sang Luo didn’t speak or move. She decided to play dead.
The man seemed to understand. "I’ll call others to help."
"No, no, no, no—" Sang Luo wailed. ’If a crowd gathers to watch, I’d rather just die of embarrassment!’
"Um, you... could you give me a little pull? I seem to be stuck..." Her voice was as faint as a buzzing mosquito, and her cheeks burned.
A golden light emerged from the young man’s palm, gently wrapping around her body. Sang Luo felt her body lighten, and the next moment, she was pulled free from the hole, floating gently to the ground.
The young man looked at the hole in surprise. "When did this doggy door get here? I’ll have someone repair it later, so the noble female isn’t accidentally injured again."
"..."
"Why was the noble female crawling through a hole?"
"Er, well... I..."
Sang Luo hadn’t come up with an excuse yet.
The young man said it for her.
"You want to escape?"
Sang Luo’s awkward smile froze, and a cold glint flashed in her eyes. She sized up the young Beastman before her. He was slender and elegant, dressed in a simple white robe with a wide-brimmed hood that hid his hair and much of his face. The collar and cuffs were embroidered with pale gold runes. He didn’t seem particularly special, aside from the White Silk covering his eyes, not much different from the two blockheads at the gate.
’He’s probably one of the Holy Hall’s patrol guards who heard the noise and came to check it out.’
’The thought of killing him to silence him flashed through her mind. But the cultivation levels of the Holy Hall’s Beastmen were all very high. Her own strength might not be enough. If she failed to kill him and dispose of the body and was discovered by the Holy Hall, she couldn’t imagine what her fate would be.’
A smile reappeared on her face. "I just saw this hole and got curious. I wanted to see what it’s like outside the Holy Hall." She took out a high-quality Spirit Jade and offered it to the young man. "Thanks for your help. Please keep this a secret. Don’t tell anyone!"
The young man’s beautifully curved lips tilted up. "Alright, I’ll keep your secret, noble female. However, the Holy Hall is millions of years old. It was built with Heavenly God Stone, which makes it impregnable. Escaping this way is a bit difficult. Do you need my help?"
"...No need!"
Sang Luo shoved the Spirit Stone into his hand and quickly took off.
The young man watched her disappear, then glanced down at the fingertips she had touched. He took out a silk handkerchief and wiped his hand.
Then, both the handkerchief and the Spirit Stone dissolved into fine dust.
He then looked at the damaged hole in the wall. With a raise of his hand, a golden light flashed. The stone wall returned to its original state, down to the very same faint crack it had before. Nothing had changed in the slightest...
