From Overlord To Multiverse.-Chapter 81 - 80: Moving Around.
Chapter 81 - 80: Moving Around.
"Change Faction Value... enemy of all living and non-living beings?" Lioro frowned as he read the description of this particular race change item.
As a certified anime fan from Earth, he had always been a big fan of turning into dragons, demons, angels, and other such mythological or powerful beings.
After all, it looked cool. Those races came with significantly longer lifespans, massive power boosts, and incredible abilities. Not to mention the flair, the aesthetic dominance—basically everything he loved in a fantasy setting.
Above all, it was just... cool. Cool enough to awaken the inner weeb inside him every time.
But this one?
This was different.
The description of the item—especially the part about the "World Enemy" title—literally turned him into the enemy of pretty much everything that breathed. Or didn't breathe.
It didn't just seem bad.
It seemed absolutely terrible.
"Wouldn't this make me the enemy of all the gods in Orario?" Lioro muttered aloud, a shiver crawling down his spine just thinking about it.
The One-Eyed Black Dragon was scary, sure, but compared to the gods, who were all born with Epic-tier racial classes, it was like comparing a small bonfire to a volcano.
After giving the Black Dragon's Heart a few more cautious glances, Lioro sighed in disappointment before carefully placing it back into his inventory.
The risk of changing his racial class in such a manner was far too high—not to mention the item's warning clearly stated that all of his previous physical data would be overwritten.
Which meant... he could lose his innate ability, Six Eyes.
That alone made it a no-go.
As he scrolled through his inventory once more, Lioro's eyes landed on something else—the centipede he had taken from Grisha.
Curious, he retrieved the squirming creature and stared at it.
"Let's see what you are," he muttered, activating Identification.
----
Item: Source of All Living Matter (1/9)
Grade: High (↓)
Type: Racial Job Change Item
Usage Limit: Resuable After Death.
Description: Changes the user's race into that of a Titan Shifter, granting access to various racial passives and allowing transformation into the Attack Titan form.
Note 1: The item is cursed by its previous owner. Using it will reduce your lifespan to 13 years.
Note 2: Current item grade is downgraded due to incompleteness. Collect all 9 pieces to restore full grade and unlock enhanced effects.
----
"Another racial job change item? Titan Shifter?" Lioro murmured.
The image of a 15-meter-tall, grotesque humanoid titan flashed through his mind, making him instinctively flinch.
"Incomplete, huh? Looks like I need to gather all 9 Titan Shifters to complete this..." he muttered thoughtfully. "Will the grade improve to 'Special' afterwards?"
He placed the centipede back into his inventory while falling into deeper thought.
"If I manage to gather all nine... would that give me the same power as the Founder Ymir?"
The mental image of Paradis Island rose up—massive walls built from countless colossal titans, rising like ancient fortresses to the sky.
Not gonna lie, the idea of having something like that under his command sounded kind of awesome. His own kingdom, protected by walls made from titans.
If anyone dared to mess with him, he'd simply activate the Rumbling and wipe out 90% of humanity. Just like that. Boom.
Of course, in the Overlord world, beings like the Dragon Lords, the Eleven Kings, and other absurdly powerful creatures existed. So the Rumbling wouldn't be as effective there.
Then again, considering the overall population was mostly made up of weaker beings, he could still technically wipe out 90% of all living creatures.
"Wait, wait, wait—why am I casually thinking about activating the Rumbling and killing 90% of the population for no reason?" Lioro slapped himself lightly on the forehead, trying to shake off the intrusive thought.
Still, having a base surrounded by titan walls sounded cool. No denying that.
Ainz had his underground tomb.
Why couldn't he have a titan kingdom?
He paused and mentally added another item to his already overflowing to-do list.
Of course, thinking about how long the list had become, he couldn't help but sigh.
"I haven't even fulfilled my burger dream yet..."
His grand goal of filling the world with diabetes through greasy fast food had remained just that—a goal.
He had made zero progress. Literally nothing. Except for opening that one flicking shop.
"One damn shop!" he groaned internally.
He needed more manpower.
More specifically, trusted generals. People who could manage everything for him while he focused on the big picture.
"All right, change of plans. Let's head to the Theocracy first and steal the World Class Items," he decided.
Everything had to follow a process. Step-by-step. One objective at a time.
Only after securing the Theocracy's treasures would he even consider another inter-world trip.
There was a reason he'd invested in so many stealth bonuses for his rings and cape. He wasn't planning on getting caught while robbing them blind.
It was time to pay the Theocracy a little visit.
With a final flicker of light, Lioro vanished from the spot.
----
The path from the Dwarven Mountain to the Slane Theocracy was more or less a straight line.
Wearing his newly created Black Dragon set, Lioro soared through the sky at terrifying speed, leaving a series of sonic booms in his wake.
After a few hours, the outline of a massive kingdom appeared on the horizon.
[9th-tier spell "Perfect Unknowable" has been learned...]
Unfortunately, there was no 10th-tier invisibility spell in existence.
"9th-tier magic: Perfect Unknowable."
Lioro's figure flickered for a moment, turning transparent—then vanished completely.
It didn't take long before he reached the outer edges of the Slane Theocracy.
Towering, gleaming walls—reinforced with magic—came into view. Knights in full plate armor patrolled the top, accompanied by magic casters and priests.
Bypassing the defenses with ease, Lioro glided above the bustling capital, cloaked in invisibility.
He scanned the streets: distinctively styled houses, clean stone roads, and churches scattered generously throughout the city.
A group of children walked by, backpacks strapped on, following a priest—likely heading to school.
Seeing it all, Lioro couldn't help but let out a sigh.
Slane Theocracy.
It was, without doubt, the most powerful of all human nations. Compared to it, Re-Estize was practically a joke.
Here, even commoners could receive healing from priests. In Re-Estize, such services were a luxury reserved only for nobles.
Of course, the Theocracy had its flaws—mainly being obsessively pro-human, persecuting pretty much every other race in existence.
After a few more glances at the holy capital, Lioro turned his gaze toward the central palace.
Floating toward it, he spotted an open window.
Without hesitation, he landed lightly on the frame and stepped inside.
It appeared to be someone's personal quarters...
Lioro's eyes slowly scanned the room.
Then he froze.
His gaze locked on the figure lounging lazily on the bed.
A girl—with half black and half white hair, one eye black, the other white.
Lioro nearly slipped off the windowsill.
Damn!
How the hell did he run into the final boss on his first try?
Barely managing to suppress the twitch in his lips, he recognized her instantly.
Antilene Heran Fouche.
The strongest warrior of the Slane Theocracy. A half-elf, half-human with a terrifying combat record. Overall level: 88.
She was casually playing with a Rubik's cube, seemingly oblivious to his presence.
Seeing her undisturbed, Lioro's confidence surged.
If even she couldn't detect him, then this infiltration mission was basically a guaranteed success.
While he was reveling in his spell's effectiveness, Antilene suddenly stood up, stretching languidly, and began walking—straight toward him.
Startled, Lioro instinctively stepped to the side, mentally bracing for a battle.
But she calmly passed by him... and stopped at the open window.
With an elegant motion, she drew the curtains shut.
Lioro exhaled slowly, relief washing over him.
'Wait... why is she closing the curtains...?'
His question was answered the very next moment.
Antilene began undressing.
Lioro blinked, stunned.
'What is this? A sudden harem-protagonist-type event?'
Touching his chin, he narrowed his eyes for a better view.
What, you thought he'd turn away out of shame?
Nope. He was a full-on degenerate.
Before his eager gaze, Antilene shed her outer garments, revealing her slender form clad in plain white underwear.
But instead of excitement, Lioro let out a disappointed sigh.
'She's flat.'
Definitely not his type.
No curves. No bounce. Nothing worth remembering.
Losing interest, Lioro redirected his focus—scanning the room for a World Item.
Considering her role as the Theocracy's guardian, he wouldn't be surprised if she had one or two for defense.
Unfortunately, after searching with his enhanced senses, he found nothing.
'Maybe she can't wield one? Every World Item has weird usage conditions anyway...'
As Lioro pondered, Antilene finished changing, grabbed her scythe and the Rubik's cube, and exited the room.
Lioro followed silently like a professional stalker.
At the same time, he pulled out a special arrow from his inventory.
An arrow imbued with a unique enchantment: it could detect the presence of a World Item within 10 meters.
That small detection range alone had cost him a million EXP.
Any expansion would've cost exponentially more.
As he tailed Antilene down the hallway, the arrow in his hand suddenly shifted—pointing left.
Lioro paused, glancing at Antilene still moving forward.
After a moment's thought, he veered left, following the arrow's guidance.
Meanwhile, Antilene's stomach let out a low growl as she headed toward the kitchen, completely unaware.
Lioro moved stealthily down the new corridor until he reached a massive open chamber.
It was a prayer hall.
Six towering statues stood in a circle—each depicting a god.
'Six Great Gods...'
He recognized them immediately.
Several human priests knelt before the statues, palms pressed in prayer.
At the very front knelt an old woman, her robes white and embroidered with golden patterns.
Lioro's eyes instantly sharpened.
'World Item. Downfall of Castle and Country!'
He remembered it from the anime!
She was wearing it!
It was the mind-control World Item he desired the most.
Suppressing the wave of greed in his chest, Lioro turned his gaze to the black-haired man standing beside her.
He vaguely remembered him—wasn't he the one standing beside her when Shalltear got mind-controlled?
Lioro didn't know the man's name or level.
His life level read as weak.
Of course, it could be a bluff—he himself often masked his stats.
But even so, there was no way this man was stronger than Antilene, the top warrior of the Theocracy.
'Now... how to steal it?'
Lioro's mind spun through possibilities.
But the more he thought, the more frustrated he became.
She was literally wearing the World Item.
The best plan he could think of was to get close, knock her out instantly, and teleport away.
'Let's keep looking for more World Items first...'
He turned and silently vanished down the corridor.
Over the next few hours, Lioro combed through the entire capital of the Slane Theocracy.
And his efforts paid off.
He found five World Items.
Yes, you heard that right—five.
Now squatting in a random storage corner, Lioro racked his brain.
How to steal all five?
At first, he considered teleporting them out immediately.
But his plan shattered the moment he ran diagnostics on the region.
'Teleportation... is blocked.'
A massive passive barrier—generated by a World Item—enveloped the entire capital, suppressing spatial magic.
He tested it himself. There was no way to teleport in or out.
Which meant...
He couldn't blink away after stealing the items.
Force—it seemed—was becoming unavoidable.
If he wanted those World Items, he'd have to fight for them.
