From Imp to Demon God: Conquering the Demon World With a Succubus-Chapter 85: The Commander of the Blood Knights’ Reasoning
"What are you trying to say? Didn’t you react swiftly enough to suppress him?"
The Commander of the Blood Knights sighed and bowed. He said, "I’m really sorry. When I made him wear the Veridictum Coil on his neck and placed the Nullbound Sphere at the center, his demonic energy went out of control out of nervousness."
The Commander of the Night Templar snorted. "Do you expect me to believe that?"
The Commander of the Blood Knights sighed and turned silent.
The Commander of the Veil Stalker calmed the Night Templar down. He turned towards the Commander of the Blood Knights and said, "Please tell us exactly what happened."
The Commander of the Blood Knights nodded. "When I arrived earlier, I gathered all the Blood Knights and made them sit in a circle. The first knight cadet was sitting in front of me. I took out the Nullbound Sphere and placed it at the center, while I made the Veredictum Coil pass around the Blood Knights until the first knight cadet received it and made him wear it around his neck.
He was visibly nervous after I gave them an idea of what was about to be done and why it was conducted. When I asked him directly if he was involved with the death of the Veil Stalker, the Veredictum Coil didn’t react, but out of nervousness, his demonic energy leaked and slowly pressured the other Blood Knights.
The other students of mine panicked at the same time and jumped on to him, trying to suppress him. However, he was far stronger than them and he panicked, pushing them all away, causing the Nullbound Sphere to be damaged as one of the Blood Knights swung his arms in reflex in its direction.
Of course, I couldn’t react. My attention was diverted to the damaged Nullbound Sphere, causing the Veredictum Coil to be vulnerable to him as he tried to get it out of his neck.
I suppressed him a bit too late."
"H-How could you be..." The Night Templar was visibly depressed.
The other Blood Knights were speechless, as well. They couldn’t believe such a thing occurred. However, the Commander of the Blood Knights already explained that it did happen, and they couldn’t find a loophole to his reasoning.
They recognized that Myles, the first knight cadet, a cadet that was the strongest of his batch in the history of the Royal Academy, was difficult to suppress when he went berserk... out of nervousness.
Furthermore, it was not only him that the Commander of the Blood Knights wanted to suppress, even the other Blood Knights panicked and tried to subdue Myles in order to get the rewards faster than them.
Yet, it turned out, Myles was proven innocent.
Just as they accepted the reasoning of the Commander of the Blood Knights, the Night Templar trembled and pointed at the Commander.
He shouted, "Do you expect me to believe such a ridiculous thing like that?! This guy? Went berserk out of nervousness? Wasn’t he known for coldly defeating others and having his resistance against charm developed to the point it’s deemed as absurd in the history of your race?
What you said doesn’t add up. Everything doesn’t make sense."
The Commander of the Blood Knights frowned and said, "In the first place, it doesn’t make sense if he was a suspect when the sigil had not activated when the Veil Stalker died. Furthermore, I have also checked and the sigil was still imprinted in his body.
Show it to them."
Myles willingly revealed a part of his body to show the weapon mark sigil.
The Night Templar instantly rebuked the Commander of the Blood Knights.
"That’s why we’re using the artifact you badly damaged to determine if he successfully breached through the sigil’s powers!"
The Commander of the Blood Knights instantly replied, "And that’s why I already told you that it had not activated before it was damaged."
The Commander of the Night Templars turned silent. He could only glare at the Commander of the Blood Knights while gritting his teeth.
There was no argument he could come up in his head, the Commander of the Blood Knights was strongly defending what had happened earlier.
Every Commander thoughts similarly. Was it just a facade when he was the one who proposed the idea that his student might be the highest suspect? And swore to subdue him if his assumption was proven true? He even asked for the Crown of Night Glass’ help, causing them to let him borrow the artifacts.
The Commander of the Veil Stalkers asked, "Are you sure you’re not brainwashed like what happened to my student?"
The Commander of the Blood Knights was taken aback. He stared at the Commander of the Veil Stalkers in disbelief.
"Did you really just think that I easily fall through with such petty tricks? Have you forgotten that I’m a graduate? Of course, I could resist even my master’s charm!"
The Commander of the Veil Stalker was silent for a while and nodded.
He said, "Return the artifacts to me, I will report this to the headmaster. Expect a punishment for your carelessness."
The Commander of the Blood Knights was surprised. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and exhaled for a long time.
He replied, "I’m ready."
Without hesitation, he walked past them and gave them the artifacts.
He turned around and pointed at the first knight cadet.
He asked, "Won’t you punish him?"
The Commander of the Veil Stalker instantly replied, "No. It’s your responsibility, to begin with. It’s your carelessness. Accompany him to return to your dorm."
The Commander of the Blood Knights nodded and grabbed Myles’ arm, carrying him until they went outside the door.
Myles glanced at the Commander of the Blood Knights and then to the other Commanders. He soon realized that the Commander of the Veil Stalker was staring at him strangely.
He thought. His suspicions of me haven’t gotten away. This might actually be a chance for me to enslave him once he stalks me in the future.
