Fortunate to Have You This Lifetime-Chapter 767 - Ice Cream_1
Chapter 767: Chapter 767 Ice Cream_1
The third-grade teachers cared most about how many students would get into key schools. For someone like Purple Summers, they would turn a blind eye, merely reminding her to stay humble, eager to learn, and not to get too self-satisfied over minor achievements…
The teacher meant well for Purple, seeing her potential and worrying that she might become arrogant after getting into the preparatory institute.
Still, such a lecture was somewhat embarrassing. With people coming and going in the office, other teachers who saw Purple couldn’t help but give her a more surprised look.
When Purple came out of the office, she saw Jane McCain and Zara Jameson waiting for her outside with expressions full of concern and curiosity.
Of course, they were curious. It was the first time they had seen Purple being scolded.
“Did the teacher say anything?” Zara asked.
...
Purple smiled awkwardly, “Well, she told me to catch up with my homework and hand it in as soon as possible.”
Jane was skeptical, “Catch up soon doesn’t mean today or tomorrow. I think there’s no problem even if you don’t make up the work. The teachers are busy with the end of the term now; they’ll probably forget about it!”
After speaking, she urged, “Come on, let’s go to the cafeteria for lunch.”
Purple forced a smile and joined them for lunch in the student cafeteria.
She really had no appetite, ordering a set meal and eating slowly, appearing very silent throughout.
Jane bought three ice creams, one for each of them.
Zara stared incredulously, “Eating ice cream in the dead of winter? And during lunch! Aren’t you afraid of getting a stomachache?”
“No worries,” Jane replied with ease. “I do this all the time. Eat up before it melts!”
She then turned to Purple and said, “Sweets improve your mood, look at you, frowning all morning since you arrived at school.”
Zara also felt there was something off with Purple but was too polite to ask, fearing she might intrude on personal matters.
Purple took the ice cream and stared at the layers, lost in thought.
Jane and Zara exchanged glances, unable to understand what was wrong with Purple.
The ice cream Jane bought allowed for DIY combinations. Ice cream was the main ingredient, to which one could add jam, chocolate sauce, cheese sponge cake, oat rings, a sprinkle of crushed Oreo cookies, or colorful gummy candies, topped with a thin rolled wafer—something all the girls liked.
Purple suddenly asked, “If you bought an ice cream and were enjoying it when someone accidentally knocked it over, spilling it on the ground, and then they bought you another ice cream, would you forgive them?”
Zara found it bewildering. “It’s just an ice cream, why wouldn’t you forgive them?”
“Purple is definitely speaking metaphorically, metaphorically!” Jane reminded Zara, gravely adding, “It depends on their intent. If it wasn’t deliberate, I might forgive them. If it was on purpose, then it’s not over yet!”
“It’s difficult…” Zara furrowed her brows, “Nowadays, many people bump into others and claim it was an accident, but maybe it’s just a prank.”
“That’s tantamount to deceit, which is even more sneaky! Absolutely unforgivable!” Jane asserted righteously.

Purple pondered, was what Alexander Summers did deliberate? No, the appearance of the hitman was an accident, but what he did to Nathaniel Summers and Jade Carlson was intentional. He knew she might get hurt, yet he did it anyway.
“Somewhere between deliberate and accidental…” Purple struggled to come to a conclusion.
“So, you suspect there were deliberate elements?” Jane shook her head earnestly. “Still unforgivable. Even if he bought me a new ice cream, what if the new one doesn’t taste good? I like to add cheese sponge cake in my ice cream, does it have that? I also like adding chocolate sauce, is it in there? Knocking an apple out of my hand and then giving me a tangerine might seem like no loss, but did anyone ask my opinion? What if I don’t like it?”
Purple felt disheartened.
Yes… what if I don’t like it, what then?
