Chapter 184: Divide and Rule..

Theo’s POV:

I wore the ridiculous purple robe and armor that the young maiden gave me. With the help of the Siren power in me, I altered my appearance entirely.

My long brown hair got shorter, and its color got a little dark. I had to change my facial features, according to my fake father, Samuel. When I changed my eye color to brown, I wasn’t even able to recognize myself at all.

This is perfect! No one can recognize me in this disguise—not even my love Celestia. At that moment, a dark-haired girl got inside my chamber. She had brown eyes just like mine, and she was wearing a purple gown.

"Ivory, is that you?" I asked her.

She nodded and flashed a warm smile. She was about to say something to me, but Samuel arrived at the spot and interrupted her.

"Holy Aiden! You can’t look this beautiful. You are going to attract a lot of attention in the castle," he said to her.

Then he glared at me from top to bottom and said," Your majesty, you are attractive too! How will the Faes believe me when I tell them that you both are my children?"

"Just tell them that our Mage mother is a pretty woman," Ivory answered for me.

"That could work too!" he retorted. " Then I think that it is time for us to leave."

I halted in front of the enormous highland castle and adored the monument for a while. The last time I was here to rescue Celestia—which I failed.

Even though I despise the man who built this monument, I still wasn’t able to restrain myself from adoring the majestic architecture of the castle. Very soon, this is going to be my dwelling place!

As soon as I got into the castle, I realized that Samuel was right. He told me that Ivory and I would attract a lot of attention, and exactly that was happening. Each and everyone who crossed us gave us both an odd glare.

But we can’t do anything about this! This is the best we can conceal our charms. Sirens can never control their charms, no matter how much they try.

My eyes wandered over the passageway hall—searching for Celestia. But she wasn’t there. Only a few Faes with golden armor wandered there. They must be the warrior Faes!

All the interior design inside the castle was changed. Before, the walls were just plain white. Now they were gold in color.

Even though it was daytime, the fire torch was still burning in the chandeliers above us, which made the whole place gleam golden.

Samuel took us through a series of staircases that lead upstairs. Even the railing of the stairs was made up of gold. From where did Oberon loot so much gold that he uses them this generously?

On our way, a lot of green and blue armor Faes bowed down to Samuel in respect. They must be the Healer and Wisdom Faes.

But the Faes, who were in grey and golden armor, walked past Samuel as if he didn’t exist at all. Did I smell smoke here?

It seems like there is a dispute among the Fae houses. This is precisely what I expected from Oberon. He tends to turn weak people against the strong to have control over them.

In the past, he turned the Faes against the weak Mages. Now he is causing a dispute between the strong and weak Fae houses!

Oberon’s biggest fear is—all the people staying united. He doesn’t want that to happen ever! He wants to run his kingdom based on the principle of Divide and Rule.

Perhaps Oberon thinks that if people keep on fighting among themselves, then his sins will never get exposed! That is why he sees me as the biggest threat, as I know everything about him.

Now I can clearly see why Samuel came running to the Selene Kingdom. This land is in chaos, and everyone here has no idea about it. Oberon is a bigger trickster than me!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My heart fluttered as I got into the courtroom as I was expecting to see my love. But she wasn’t there. Where is she?
Samuel took us to the right side corner of the room where the Perspicacious Faes were seated. It shook me to see that all the Fae houses sat as four separate groups as if they were from different realms.
So there is no unity in the courtroom too? Oberon is living the time of his life here! If the court members are divided like this, then no one will focus on him—as the fae houses will be busy bringing each other down.
He can get away with anything now; No one is here to raise a finger against him! It is good that I am finally here to sabotage him.
Ivory and I sat down on the front row seats while Samuel was seated in between us. We were facing the Spirit Fae house Faes, who were giving us cold glares.
I leaned closer to Samuel and whispered to him," Why are the Spirit Faes glaring at us? What did your house do to them?"
"I have no idea," Samuel whispered back in a low tone. "I don’t get why the Perspicacious Faes are the most disliked ones! All we do is see the future and protect the cycle of nature. Still, people hate us."
"If you keep on saying the phrase cycle of nature, then I will start to hate you too," I snapped at him a little louder without my knowledge that the Perspicacious Faes on the back row from us started to give us odd looks.
"Your highness," Samuel clutched my hand. "Please follow the three rules that I told you earlier."
"Fine," I sighed deeply and leaned back on my chair.
It is Samuel’s fault! He kept on saying the same phrase over and over again. Whatever! Annoyance is not good for me. I should be calm.
But my calmness vanished when I saw the lame King with an Ivory pearl crown on his head enter the courtroom. I wanted to run to him and strangle his neck!
