Chapter 165: Diminishing my rage

Theo’s POV:

Oberon has still not changed! I thought that he would know better by now. He always discriminates between his subjects and loses their allegiance.

Samuel was waiting for my response. When he didn’t get one from me, he turned his attention back to Cynthia. I noticed that his eye pupils dilated every time he looked at the silver blonde-haired Siren Queen.

Perhaps he is really a pervert! But it is not fair to blame him either. Cynthia is the second most beautiful woman I ever know. Celestia is always on the top of the list for me!

Cynthia, who was quietly listening to our conversation for this long, broke her silence and began to speak. "I understand that you need a liberal King. But I am afraid to say that I will never let Silver Shadow step out of this island again."

I had never felt this uncomfortable, even when I was in the abyss of torment for many years. She might be the mother who raised me, but she can’t make decisions for me! For Selene’s sake, I have the powers of the Anti-Angel now. Still, she treats me like a child?!

After getting a disappointing response from the Siren Queen, Samuel got up from the floor and took a step closer to me while he still had iron chains around his wrists. I reckoned that it was entirely useless to restrain him. He is a Perspicacious Fae, and he has no combat skills.

So pulled out the chain from his hand and freed him from his restraints. He was delighted to have his hands back to himself. The whole room was dazed by my actions. No one dares to free a prisoner without the approval of the Queen!

Samuel clasped his hands together and said," Thank you for freeing me, your majesty! I hope that at least we both are on the same page now."

"No, we are not!" I snapped at him. "You are here because you want salvation from the tyrant rule of Oberon! Where were you a thousand years ago when I needed you the most? Why didn’t you warn me about Oberon’s plans back then?"

He trembled just by hearing my questions. He bent his neck a little and replied to me in a polite tone. "Your majesty, you need to know that there are some things which are meant to happen for the greater good. And we Perspicacious Faes can’t meddle with the cycle of nature. If I had told you about Oberon’s plans before, then you would have stopped the Dawn from sacrificing herself, and the side of light would have never been redeemed!"

I picked up the iron chain that I dropped on the ground a while ago and put the chain around his neck. Samuel began to scream out loud after I began to strangle his neck with it.

"How dare you say that Dawn had to sacrifice herself! She didn’t do anything wrong. She was innocent, and she didn’t deserve to get consumed by burning fire and die. Do you understand?"

Samuel’s pale neck got reddened as I began to pressure his neck even more. "Your.... majesty," he coughed out. "You can’t deny that there was no other way to save the side of light!"

I loosened the pressure around his neck slightly, but I didn’t completely free his neck. "There was a way! I was working on it. I would have accomplished it if it weren’t for Oberon."

"But that was in the past! Now you have far greater problems than that. The Dawn is going to be crowned as the princess of the Celestial Realm."

After that, not only did I free his neck, but I also dropped the iron chain on the ground in horror. "What are you saying? The Dawn is going to be crowned as the princess?"

Samuel was still coughing out, and he struggled to breathe out air normally. He placed his hands around his neck and healed his reddened skin with the help of his purple flames.

There was dead silence in the courtroom after that. And I was thinking hard to figure out what Oberon was planning.

Once Samuel got back to normal, he looked at me and said," King Oberon proposed to the court of the Highlands that the Dawn should be crowned as the princess of the realm. And the court members voted positive for that."

My anger multiplied tenfold as I heard him out. How can Oberon sleep at night knowing that he is using an innocent soul as his shield?

Cynthia immediately came to me just when my temper was about to reach its peak. She held my hand to comfort me as she knows what will happen when my anger explodes. Even I won’t control myself!

"But your majesty, I voted negatively for King Oberon’s proposal. So please don’t get mad at me. I am against Dawn becoming the princess just like you," Samuel defended himself and kept on blabbing about the events that happened in the Highland court.

His words were instigating my anger to a greater extent that Cynthia wasn’t able to comfort me with her alluring powers anymore. My eyes began to burn out and gleamed red as my rage continued to rise. Samuel took a step back from me in horror.

"Everyone get out of the court now," Cynthia shouted at the Siren girls while she was still holding my arm. All the Siren girls immediately rushed out of the courtroom.

She then turned to Ivory and said," Restrain this man again and lock him up in the cell below." 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

Ivory followed the instructions of the Queen and cuffed his hands together again. "Your majesty, tell the Queen that it is not necessary! I have no plans to run away from here until you say so."

Even before I could say something, Ivory made him disintegrate in the white fumes along with her. Now there was no one in the room except Cynthia and me.

She stepped in front of me and looked directly at my eyes. Slowly my rage diminished as I stared at her alluring pale golden eyes.
