Chapter 143: This can’t be true!!

Celestia’s POV:

For a moment, my mind was blank. What is he saying?

"Why would Theo be on the opponent’s side?!" I mumbled to him.

A smirk formed on his lips as he heard my question. Then he said, "Silver Shadow was the one who attacked us all."

Is he trying to pull my nerve by lying like this? " Listen to me, Darius! I know that Lilin attacked you all. So you can stop lying to me now!"

Darius slightly grunted at my response. " Celestia! It is over now and for Aiden’s sake, stop being naive! If you still keep on denying the truth, then there will be no bigger fool than you. Silver Shadow was the one who attacked us all. And he has some kind of bizarre powers now. That is why a lot of them lost their lives while defending the lands."

"But... you can’t be serious! Silver Shadow will never attack these lands! He promised me that he wouldn’t hurt my people and friends."

"You should understand that his biggest desire is to win our father and rule this realm. For that, he will do anything! You know that he is a trickster. Do you think that a trickster will stay true to his words?"

I silently stared at him as I didn’t know what to say. I know for sure that Darius is lying. But I can’t believe that he would lie in a situation like this. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

Many people have lost their lives, and there is still blood in his armor. Why would he lie now? Or maybe there is a possibility that he is not lying.

But I still have immense faith in Theo. He might be a trickster to everyone else in the realm, but not to me! He told me many times that he is my slave and that my wishes are his commands. How could he betray me?! That is impossible!

"I guess that you don’t trust me now," Darius sighed. " If you don’t have faith in my words then, ask the survivors of the battle. Maybe then you will realize the truth!"

Now it didn’t look to me like he was lying! I have known Darius ever since I was a kid. I can easily spot him when he is lying.

But that can’t be the truth! Theo couldn’t be the enemy here.

"Darius! Could you please take me to the survivors? I am not going to come to a conclusion without confirming what is true," I said to him.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Darius took me to the back end of the castle. The fire did not destroy only this portion of the court. Three-quarters of the castle was burned down.
I wanted to ask him what caused the fire. But I chose to be silent as I assumed that he would tell another lie.
I recalled seeing a lot of dead Manticores in the barren lands. Manticores have the potential of breathing fire. They must have burned down the lands! But my powers can easily neutralize the fire of Manticore! Someone else must have burned the forest! Who could have done that?!
My chain of thoughts got interrupted when Darius and I stepped inside the Giant hall, which has now turned into an infirmary. This hall has always seen only happy events like banquets and celebrations. For the first time, this hall is witnessing a tragedy.
All the injured Faes were lying on the floor on either side of the room. Some of them were minorly injured. As I strode to the center of the room, I noticed that some lost a lot of blood. It is difficult for them to survive!
In times like these, Faes with great healing powers are considered Gods. A normal Fae can be able to heal himself with his powers in case of minor injuries. Only the Healer Faes have the potential to save the lives of a dying person. Normal Faes can’t do that!
But the Healer Faes are very few in number in the realm. The number of injured warriors in these halls seems to be more.
I glanced at Darius and said, " We should call the white witches from the Lowlands for aid! They will be very helpful to us."
Darius shook his head and said, " I don’t think we need their help! And our father is mad at all the Lowlanders and you. He won’t be very happy if any more traitors get into our land."
"But why?" I cried out. " I am not a traitor! The Lowlanders are not traitors either. We didn’t attack the Highland. Lilin did it!"
Darius sighed and said, " This room is full of witnesses who saw everything that happened in the barren lands. You can ask any one of them. Now I have to find our father and have a talk with him. I haven’t seen him since the battle!"
After that, he walked away from me. I quietly stood still and watched him leaving the infirmary. Then I walked to a random Fae guard who was lying five feet away from me on the floor.
He was minorly injured. There were slight marks of claws in his neck and arms. So he must have battled with a Vampire.
He tried to get up from the floor when he saw me. I knelt beside him and stopped him from waking up. " Please relax! I am not expecting to be respected in a time like this."
The guard obeyed me, and then he laid back on the ground. He blinked at me and mumbled weakly, "Dawn, It is an honor that you are here to visit us. But you could have arrived here a little earlier before the battle had begun!"
I looked away from him as I felt guilty. I could have saved them all if I was here!
"I am sorry," I apologized to the guard. " Please forgive me for not being there. I am the reason for this disaster." I swallowed the tears that were forcing to drip down from my eyes.
"Dawn, don’t be hard on yourself! This is not your fault! Silver Shadow is the reason for this. He attacked us in the middle of the night when we were all unprepared for a battle."
So it was him?! He did this? This can’t be true!
