Chapter 137: The Strange Symbol...

Celestia’s POV:

I was at the peak of my anger when I got back on my feet and picked up Tangerine’s cage from the floor. Poor thing was shaken.

"It’s okay! I got you," I comforted her.

"You are so pathetic," I heard a woman’s voice.

She finally came in front of me and revealed herself. It was Ivory! Why am I not surprised? She always despised me so much. Now she is picking on me since Theo is not around here.

"I have no intention to pick on you, Celestia," she growled like an animal. " Queen Cynthia instructed me to imprison you when you show up."

"That doesn’t make any sense! Why would she say something like that? I never did anything against her!"

This is getting good! It is bad enough that Highlanders imprisoned and tormented me. Now the Sirens are going to do the same thing to me?

"Don’t act innocent," Ivory snapped as she read my thoughts. "You went away with your father and tried to conspire against us Sirens."

"What?" I chuckled out. "Why would I want to conspire against the Sirens? Even though I don’t like most of you, I would never harm you all!"

She stood still and studied me for a while. I was able to feel her penetrating in my mind. Even in this faint moonlight, she was glowing like always. These are the perks of being a Siren!

After she read my mind thoroughly, she let out a sigh and blinked with her long dark eyelashes. "So your father tried to trick you? He was the one who captured Theo, and you saved him from the dead rock cage? This is unbelievable!"

That was the closest thing to a compliment Ivory has ever given me! Why do the Sirens always assume the worst of me?

"But according to the Queen’s vision, you do betray us in the future and side with your father," Ivory went on with her justification. "When you went to the Highlands without informing the Queen, she thought that her vision had come true! That’s why she told me to imprison you."

"Did the Queen really see a vision like that?" I gasped. "But I will never be able to side with my father again! And I would never go against the Sirens for Theo’s sake. How could that vision come true?!!"

"Whatever," she mumbled. "The Queen wants to see you now. Come with me!" Ivory turned on her heels, and she was walking away from me.

"Wait," I called her out and stopped her. "You should apologize to Tangerine and me for pushing us down the bushes!"

She looked over her shoulder and sighed again. "I am sorry." She said those three words to me with very much difficulty.

Ivory looked down at the cage and said, "I am sorry, birdie!" Tangerine began to screech out angrily. She didn’t accept the apology!

Tangerine never forgives someone who offends her. I patted her wings gently and silenced her.

Ivory took me to the upper regions of the castle. What is Cynthia doing over the roof of the castle?

"The Queen has never slept ever since Theo went missing," Ivory responded after she heard my thoughts. "So try not to trigger her with your silly thoughts or words."

I scowled at her and stepped on the top portion of the white marble castle. I have never been up here before! The cool breeze soothed my skin and took off all the uneasiness that I was feeling lately.

From here, the entire Southern region was visible. The Queen was standing close to the white marble railing of the roof. She was eyeing the landscape when Ivory and I stepped nearer to her.

"Your Grace," Ivory said and bowed down to her. "Celestia is here! And she hasn’t betrayed us yet! Perhaps she might do it in the future."

I so wanted to push Ivory down the roof right now! But Theo won’t like it when he comes to know that killed her. Then I realized that two Sirens are with me now.

Ivory probably might have heard that still; she didn’t confront me! Maybe she doesn’t want to confront me in front of the Queen. From now on, I should control my thoughts for Aiden’s sake.

Queen Cynthia came running to me and held my hand. "Tell me where he is now? When will he come back?"

"He never said that to me either," I responded bleakly to her.

Cynthia was disappointed with my response and moved a step away from me. She had her long silver-blonde let down today. Only then did I notice how long her hair was actually. They were up to her knees!

"Celestia, you can admire my hair later. Now tell me about the strange symbol that you saw on his forearm," Cynthia questioned me.

I was stunned for a second. I was not even aware that she was penetrating my mind. When did she do that? Ivory did the same thing to me a while ago, but I was able to sense it.

"I am gifted, Siren, and I can even make you jump off this roof if I want," Cynthia shouted at me. "Will you please tell me about the symbol now?"

I shuddered and tried hard to keep my mind blank after that. No more silly thoughts! I took a deep breath and began to answer her.

"There was a chalice with an X mark on it. And below that, there was a symbol of inverted V," I said while I had my eyes on Cynthia.

My explanation dazed them both. So they are not aware of that symbol, just like me.

Ivory looked to her side at Cynthia and said, "Your Grace, I think that the symbol must be from the Enochian language. That is why we are not aware of it!"

Enochian language?!! It’s the language of Demons! Why would Theo have a demonic mark on his arm?

"Then we should try to find out about the symbol. Only then will we know what Theo is planning to do," Cynthia announced.
