Forced to Marry a Female Billionaire CEO-Chapter 636: Qin Family Dispute
"Hmm, that's very thoughtful of you."
Qin Ya's reaction was cold; she merely nodded, her face devoid of a smile.
This made Qin Jinghuan's expression turn grim. Normally, when he greeted her like this, she and her husband would be delighted. Why the cold shoulder now?
But on the surface, Qin Jinghhan maintained a calm facade, bowing slightly. "Aunt, Uncle, shall we go in?"
Qin Ya and Ouyang Hao stepped inside, with Qin Jinghuan following closely behind.
Once they entered the main hall, they saw the Qin family servants waiting by the side, along with Qin Feng. There was also an elderly man with graying hair.
Seeing Qin Ya and Ouyang Hao approach, the old man immediately rose to his feet with a joyful expression. "Xiao Ya, Xiao Hao, you're finally here!"
The elderly man was the head of the Qin Family, Qin Xiyin.
Qin Ya and Ouyang Hao were childhood sweethearts, so even though Ouyang Hao was a son-in-law, Qin Xiyin saw him as his own child.
Nearby, Qin Feng and Qin Jinghuan's expressions grew even colder as they witnessed Qin Xiyin's enthusiastic reception…
"Dad, please, sit down."
Seeing Qin Xiyin stand, Qin Ya and Ouyang Hao exclaimed in alarm and hurried forward to support him.
Noticing their panicked expressions, Qin Xiyin laughed heartily. "Don't worry, I'm in great health. No need to fret."
A hint of reproach touched Qin Ya's face. "Dad, I told you to wait for me in your room. Why did you come out to the hall? What if you catch a chill?"
Qin Xiyin's health had always been poor. Qin Ya had even considered asking Xu Ke to come examine him, but she hadn't made the call yet because Xu Ke was too busy.
"I was too worried about you, and I couldn't even visit you in the hospital. Now that you're safely discharged, I had to be here to wait for you."
The wrinkles on Qin Xiyin's face bunched together as he smiled, the joy in his eyes impossible to hide.
Of his two children, a son and a daughter, he doted on Qin Ya the most.
At that moment, Qin Feng stepped forward with a smile. "Dad, Xiao Ya was just discharged. Don't keep her standing here talking. Let's sit down and eat. It's been a long time since we all had a family meal together."
"Yes, Grandpa, let's go eat," Qin Jinghuan chimed in.
Watching Qin Feng approach, a barely perceptible trace of hatred flashed in Ouyang Hao and Qin Ya's eyes.
"Yes, yes, of course. Let's hurry."
Qin Xiyin smacked his forehead and cheerfully pulled Qin Ya and Ouyang Hao toward the dining table.
Seeing this, Qin Ya decided against saying anything to Qin Feng and simply joined Ouyang Hao in guiding her father to the table.
"Where's Xiao Jie? Why isn't he here? Is he still not feeling well?" Qin Xiyin asked as they walked.
"Xiao Jie is very healthy," Ouyang Hao said with a laugh. "Ever since the Divine Doctor intervened, he's been full of energy. I just didn't bring him over because he has class. Dad, if you want to see him, I can call and have him brought over right away."
"No, no, no, let him stay in class. His studies come first."
Qin Xiyin waved his hand with a smile, then added thoughtfully, "I just wonder who this Divine Doctor is. It would be wonderful if we could invite him to the Qin estate for a visit. I feel terrible that I can't thank him in person."
Standing behind Qin Xiyin, Qin Feng and Qin Jinghuan's expressions turned colder at the mention of the "Divine Doctor."
"Dad, the Divine Doctor's whereabouts are unpredictable, so he's hard to find," Ouyang Hao said. "However, we have his number. I believe if he ever needs anything, he'll contact us. When that time comes, I will properly repay his kindness. You can rest assured."
"That's good, that's good!" Qin Xiyin nodded.
After they were seated, the prepared dishes were brought out one after another. The meal seemed harmonious, and neither Qin Feng nor Qin Jinghuan showed any sign that something was amiss.
After dinner, Qin Xiyin returned to his room, leaving Qin Ya and her husband in the living room, sitting opposite Qin Feng and his son.
"Xiao Ya, are you really all right? Do you need me to find another doctor for you?" Qin Feng asked with an air of concern.
Qin Ya's smile did not reach her eyes. "Thank you, brother, but I don't need one."
"No need for thanks. That's what brothers are for," Qin Feng said with a slight smile, noticing her reaction.
Tired of the charade, Ouyang Hao listened to the stiff exchange before getting straight to the point. "Qin Feng, there's something I need to talk to you about."
Hearing himself addressed so formally, Qin Jinghuan grew furious.
But Qin Feng held him back, his eyes narrowing. "What is it?"
Qin Ya said coldly, "The Martial Alliance is selecting a new Law Enforcement Hall Chief soon. I want the Qin Family's vote to go to Old Hua."
"On what grounds?" Qin Feng laughed.
Because Wong Qifu had been working diligently behind the scenes, Qin Feng still didn't know that Xu Ke was the Divine Doctor who had saved Qin Ya and Ouyang Jie. However, he knew the Ouyang Family and the Wang Family had a good relationship, since Ouyang Zhou had stood up for Xu Ke at the last press conference. Because of this, he had anticipated that Xu Ke might use the Ouyang Family to have Ouyang Hao and Qin Ya lobby for the Qin Family's vote. So, he wasn't surprised by Qin Ya's demand. He just wanted to see what kind of reason she would give.
To his surprise, Qin Ya offered no grand justification, only four short, icy words.
"Because I want it."
As soon as she spoke, the atmosphere in the living room plummeted.
The fury in Qin Jinghuan's eyes was now completely unmasked as he laughed out of sheer anger. "Aunt, do you even know what your status is now?"
His words were a clear jab: Qin Ya had married Ouyang Hao and was no longer truly a Qin. She had no right to use the family's resources for anything.
"Don't interrupt when adults are speaking. Didn't your father teach you any manners?" Qin Ya shot back with a cold sneer.
"Jinghuan is destined to inherit the position of Family Head. There's nothing wrong with him speaking up now; it's a learning experience. Xiao Ya, there's no need for you to get angry so quickly," Qin Feng stated calmly.
"So you agree with him? You think that I, Qin Ya, no longer deserve the Qin name?" she asked, her eyes narrowing.
Qin Feng was non-committal. "You're overthinking it."
Seeing him no longer bothering to hide his true feelings, Qin Ya decided to lay everything bare. "Brother, for the past ten years, every time I called you that, I meant it sincerely. But after the car accident, I realized that in your eyes, your sister's heartfelt feelings are just trash to be thrown away."
At her words, Qin Feng's gaze sharpened, but his expression remained unchanged as he said, "What do you mean? I don't understand."
"You don't understand? Then let me spell it out for you!" Qin Ya sneered. "I'm telling you, I know you hired him to kill me. This was no accident!"
As soon as she spoke, the entire hall fell silent.
But Qin Feng was not at all surprised that she knew he was the perpetrator. After hearing her out, he was not only unshaken but even more nonchalant. "Xiao Ya, one needs evidence for such things. I know the police have already ruled this incident an accident. You can't just make wild accusations."
"Wild accusations?" Qin Ya laughed. "I knew you'd say that. So, take a guess. Why do you think your dear sister stayed in the hospital for so long?"
As her words fell, Qin Feng's face finally darkened. "What do you mean?"
"Guess how much evidence we have? For instance… the driver's confession from prison?" Qin Ya sneered.
She knew Qin Feng had people watching her and her husband. Her extended stay in the hospital—nearly a month—was a deliberate move to make him let his guard down regarding the aftermath of the car crash. And finally, while Qin Feng's attention was focused on finding someone to deal with Xu Ke, Ouyang Hao had seized the opportunity. He had his people round up all of Qin Feng's subordinates involved and secured the evidence before Qin Feng even knew what was happening.
The color drained from Qin Feng's face. He gritted his teeth. "Impossible!"
"You don't believe me? Then try to contact Da Peng, the man in charge of cleaning up your loose ends. Can you reach him now?" Qin Ya mocked.
