Flip the Coin [BL]-Chapter 483. One (1)
"That explains Mrs. Andand’s enthusiasm. Though I bet my grandma also never had a female friend." Kenny chuckled, motioning to the phone after he typed his setup of a message back to Omar.
I leaned against his head before glancing at the rain smattering down outside the car.
How cozy to be inside.
And again there had been an attempt today to take him from me.
After seeing the message from Kenny in the morning, I hated the moment of inattention on my side that would have cost him his life if not for his leveled-up body.
Naturally, nothing happened to him; naturally, he could protect himself—but why did he have to when there was me?
At least after the incident, I threatened a few people until I was asked very demurely by the overseeing worker to go and dig a hole.
I just smiled at him, nodding enthusiastically.
Everyone had gotten the same task to divert our attention while the elevator was repaired, just that my hole and mine alone was two meters wide, two meters deep, and about one meter long.
Seeing the shape, the people were creeped out, and when I checked the railing, nobody dared to stop me, watching from afar.
Now on our way to the house, amidst the worsening rain that seemed to develop biblically, we crossed a big van.
"That is one of our people," Ethan said while slowing down and honking so that we wouldn’t get into an untimely crash.
The van honked back, and we passed each other securely.
"Not the best day for transporting stuff." Kenny chuckled and looked out at the window as well.
I placed my nose against his hair and took a deep breath. Feeling the little crumbs of plaster against my skin, my mood rose.
This time he didn’t have to purposefully put the plaster in his hair—I still can’t believe that he did that. I nearly blurted out my feelings right then and there but didn’t in the end.
I don’t want to overwhelm him with everything we had already planned.
When we arrived at home, there was another big van still in front of the house.
Kenny conjured up two umbrellas again, and we hurried from the car to the house, although we could as well just teleport.
There were footsteps upstairs; we saw a man coming down—I recognized him as one of the masked men on our side from the warehouse because of his unusually bright brown eyes.
Maybe someone who was upgraded as well; maybe just an unusual eye color.
He carried a carton full of Ren’s toys down, and Kenny, seeing him for the first time, said hello before thanking him and touching his shoulder encouragingly when he passed us as we got rid of our shoes.
He was currently especially cautious because of the move and noting some helper with unusual eyes; I had already expected him to do what he did.
This time, I didn’t let go of Kenny, accompanying him while he had a vision where we saw the man talking positively to one of his family members about Mrs. Howard.
When we came back, I felt Kenny relax; then he dragged me to the kitchen, where Ethan was already busy taking warm-held food from the pans and pots.
Kenny queued behind him and got us food too before sitting down at the bench.
I grabbed the water and juice on the table and filled Kenny’s and my glasses before digging in as well.
We heard the entrance door open and close, the man from before as well as a few others busy transferring stuff.
Mrs. Howard eventually came to the dining room with Ren.
"Couldn’t you have showered beforehand?"
"Nope," Kenny replied, and she fell silent.
Ren instantly came to Kenny’s side while the old lady got herself some coffee and sat down at the table.
"We will leave while you are at work tomorrow.
"Alright," Kenny nodded.
"Behave yourself." Mrs. Howard looked worried as well, so short before the move.
"Always." Kenny gave his typical smirk that made my heart accelerate.
While watching from the side and eating, there soon came someone else.
Jeyjey walked slowly into the kitchen, halted when she saw us, then continued her way to the stove.
She took some food, then took a seat next to Mrs. Howard, who ignored her.
Their relationship had soured since the Deer Monster world; no wonder, given how Jeyjey tried to contact the enemy and sell the people accommodating her out.
Nobody asked me, but I think we should just get rid of her, no matter her powers.
"I will cooperate," Jeyjey eventually said, taking a deep breath afterward, as if she had rid herself of a great burden.
I nearly laughed out loud; she should be thankful to still be alive.
"Just please... can you bury him in a beautiful place?" Jeyjey’s demands seemed to have no end.
I chuckled—too late for that.
Mrs. Howard grimaced, but before she could say something, Kenny spoke.
"Already done; he is resting in peace."
I really really want that girl gone.
"However, Jeyjey," Kenny surprisingly continued,
"Until now, we have saved you multiple times, fed you countless times, and even fulfilled your wishes and conditions. Cooperation or not, this ends here. Do you understand?"
Kenny didn’t wear his charming smirk or his relaxed expression, nor did he display the endearing annoyance he often showed. Instead, he spoke arrogantly, from a clearly higher position that didn’t allow rebuttal.
Like a master.
My mouth instantly went dry witnessing this sight of him.
So handsome, so sexy.
WHY THE HELL IS IT NOT SATURDAY YET?!
Luckily, we weren’t alone, or I would have pounced on him.
My eyes finally fell to the two across the table; Jeyjey was shocked, her hand slightly trembling, while Mrs. Howard tried to hide her smug smile behind the tiny cup she held in front of her lips.
"I... I understand. I am ... I am sorry for everything until now," Jeyjey said with lowered eyes before trying to eat some more.
But ultimately, she left after a few more minutes—not without cleaning her plate.
Kenny chuckled when she was gone and continued to eat.
When we went back into our room, we had a tail following us.
Ren slipped in with us into our room and ’hid’ under the blanket.
"Did you see Ren while eating? He has grown so much, so cool," Kenny said with a smile.
The bundle under the blanket trembled.
"Yes, he is a big boy now." And he should be able to sleep by himself now.
The bundle trembled again.
Kenny caught my meaning and elbowed me.
"I think we should go search for him and ask him if he wants to sleep with us tonight."
More trembling as if he were laughing silently.
"Alright, let’s go search for him." I reached for the door, opened it, and closed it again while watching with Kenny as the panicked kid wrestled away the blanket.
Today wasn’t the day anyway, so I didn’t mind... so much.
Ren waved his hands as if to say he was already here, and Kenny broke into elaborate wonder on how he could be here, asking if he learned to teleport as well.
Kenny wanted to shower, but I told him that I would make the bed anyway later, so we got in as well.
This gave me the chance to delouse him while he finally conjured up his handheld game console to show it off to Ren.
The original was still gathering dust in the closet, but I was relieved that he was able to conjure it up—probably because it also ran on batteries.
In the end, Kenny dozed off while Ren took over playing.
He constantly turned to me, tilting the display of the game console to have me read the text out quietly while I was still working on Kenny’s hair.
Eventually, the kid fell asleep while playing as well.
Too excited for tomorrow, I felt wide awake and could witness how, when Kenny woke up for a moment to turn around, the game console in the sleeping child’s hands disappeared.
I had suspected him of doing that with his contact lenses every so often as well, or with the rest of the plaster and the little stick of cotton candy yesterday.
Half asleep but so diligently putting things back in their timeline.
Hah, I should sleep so that time passes faster—but on the other hand, even a second not watching Kenny felt like such a waste of time.
Eventually, I fell asleep as well after setting the clock on my phone—we could sleep longer given that we would only use the stretching kit only shortly before the main course.
I can’t wait.
******
This time, I am inside a moving, windy space. I hear ragged breathing; I can’t move. I hear Kenny crying and cursing, talking nonsense, and this time—instead of just my palm—I feel his teeth all across my upper body—contrary to just my palm like before.
It is suffocating; I feel suffocated by the palpable pain Kenny was emitting, as well as by the motionlessness of my body—the former much more grueling than the latter.
******
The clock woke me up, and I startled awake, turning off the phone and wiping away the tears and spit on my face before looking over at Kenny.
Still asleep.
I breathed a sigh of relief before bending over and burying my face in his neck.
Not the bloody smell mixed with anguish from the dream—from the past—but just Kenny’s usual addicting scent.
Listening to the sounds outside, the rain had already stopped.
"Such a brave hero," I mumbled, entranced.
"Thank you for conjuring me up back then." At least I could share Kenny’s biggest trauma, even if only passively.
The small body clamped around Kenny’s arm wriggled, and through the motion, Kenny himself woke up as well.
He raised his head and looked around, seeing himself still in his clothes from yesterday.
He mumbled, "Oh."
"Good morning~~ Today no carrots for breakfast," I hummed.
He looked at me dazedly before rolling his eyes and letting himself fall back into the pillow.
"Instead they will be served~~" I watched as Kenny grimaced.
"For dinner~"
"It’s too early for your cringe." Kenny covered his face with the arm that was free.
"We just have time for a quick shower and a very quick meal, though~" I advised before pecking his chin.
In the end, I showered alone, although there was no need to stretch anything just yet, making this feel like not seeing the bride for a week before the marriage just to heighten the tension.
And tense I was, nearly putting my boots on the wrong feet, which had never happened before, not even when I was on drugs.
After managing to clothe myself, I found Kenny in the kitchen, eating alone with Ethan, though he had already filled my plate for me.
I grinned and sat beside him like always, awfully aware of each of his movements.
For example, grabbing a piece of bread looked as handsome as always, but now I was instantly imagining myself pulling him to me, letting my lips trail down the tattooed skin.
Fuck. I coughed lightly and covered my mouth, again feeling ready to pounce or drool right here, before forcing my attention back to the table.
Every one of the sexual experiences I clearly remember was with Kenny; all the others were while being high or drunk, and I am thankful for that.
I don’t want to remember anything not Kenny-related anyway, but I could make out in my foggy memories that I had never felt even remotely this way before.
It was awfully quiet at the table until Ethan explained that he had talked briefly to Henrietta yesterday, and she agreed to wear the collar for now.
She was currently indeed wearing it, although she felt unconscious right after and had not woken up until now.
They would transport her unconscious today if necessary.
I saw Kenny breathe a sigh of relief before looking at me to make sure I was alright.
I didn’t care as long as she was away from this house by evening at any cost; she was really the last person I wanted near me right now, this night, and at any other point in time.
Then the atmosphere turned awkward again. It had to be awkward given that the three of us knew what Kenny and I would be doing today.
Luckily, Ren came, though he didn’t provide any help to lessen the strange atmosphere by telling a joke or saying anything at all.
When we finished breakfast, more people came, bidding us goodbye like on the first day of work.
The old lady eyed Kenny suspiciously.
"Just behave." She repeated herself from yesterday, but this time her eyes wandered from him to me.
Kenny nodded, I nodded, and the staff sergeant said, "Until Sunday." Ren hugged Kenny way longer than necessary; Jeyjey and Henrietta weren’t present, nor were Emma and the doctor.
After saying goodbye, we boarded the car, finding that there were quite a few vehicles standing in front of the house.
I leaned against Kenny, feeling my heart beat vigorously as we experienced another silent drive, with Kenny shaking his leg, showing his nervousness in the most adorable manner.
He couldn’t really sit still, and I couldn’t either, my gaze while leaning against him turning to his crotch.
"Stop the ogling; you make me much more nervous than I already am," he whispered nearly inaudibly.
I squeezed his hand with a chuckle and looked out of the window instead.
We didn’t talk much while driving, while walking, while registering, or after boarding the bus, as we were both just bundles of nerves.
When we arrived at the construction site, I watched the elevator rise with Kenny until they got off at the top of the skyscraper with bated breath.
Then I went to work, carrying stuff, mixing cement, filling the grave I dug yesterday back up...
All in a trance, all while my thoughts focused on a body that would soon be completely mine.
When the day finally ended with me staring at the descending elevator, seeing Kenny exit safely and come to me with a nervous smirk, I was already at my limit.
"You didn’t message me as much today," Kenny whispered after I secretly got rid of the dinner on the way back to the city hall.
That’s true; I only sent him some stickers throughout the day, but that has its reason.
I raised my hand to show him how much I was trembling.
He laughed and took my hand into his.
"For real now? Or did you not sleep well?"
"For real. I slept just fine; it’s just the eager anticipation." I eyed him, fearful that I was putting too much pressure on him, but on the contrary, seeing me losing it seemed to calm him down.
I grinned and rubbed my head against his.
When we arrived at the city hall, we walked with Ethan back through a few side streets.
He looked at us complicatedly.
"Remember to come to the city hall by nine tomorrow. I will now leave for the gang house."
"Alright." Kenny seemed uncomfortable, but he overplayed it very well.
We watched Ethan press his lips together, turn around, and walk away before Kenny counted down and teleported as if fleeing.
I teleported after him, and we stood in our room.
I licked my lips.
"I will go to the bathroom..."
"Yeah, I’ll go shower..." he answered a beat too fast.
We fell silent, and I laughed; he also chuckled.
"Let’s meet here in an hour and a half?" I asked, and he nodded.
"I will change the sheets now..."
"Yeah, alright—good idea! Thank you." He was all over the place, and I had to suppress a fit of hysterical laughter.
I heard the shower running even without straining my ears and went to the closet in my room, where a few fresh sheets were stored.
I made the bed speedily before I walked mechanically out and walked into my bathroom.
Only now did I notice how silent the whole house was; it was unusual and would feel empty if not for the most perfect man being here with me.
Inside my room, I went to the closet and pulled the box and lube out to go into the bathroom.
Seeing myself in the mirror, I stroked my hair back, taking a look at my face before stripping and examining my body.
Insecurities threatened to eat me alive, but then there was this delirious joy and promise of becoming complete today.
I closed my eyes and crouched down, ruffling my hair.
It was finally time.
Today, we would finally melt together, the god and his believer, the master and his dog—a mutual offering to finally become ONE.
