Flip the Coin [BL]-Chapter 390. Seven layers of Hell
Then a one-and-a-half-hour tirade of cursing and screaming started, but most of all, there were chaotic accusations thrown around.
The old hag yelled and yelled and yelled...
From "You think you are a man now??" to "Just because you look like a gangster, you want to move into the sewer??" Then she took a sip of water to moisten her mouth before continuing to yell at me with, "How dare you leave your blood behind knowing that the government wanted it!" This argument was interrupted by Henry, who said that he had acidified every drop of my blood inside the sewer before leaving.
I scoffed at him for the petty help he provided when he otherwise watched the scolding without being bothered the least, and my grandmother, instead of being happy about him protecting me and everyone else by getting rid of the monster-enchanter-juice my blood was, got even angrier.
One argument had been eliminated, but a thousand more followed.
Every time I talked back, ten minutes were added to the screaming about ’how I had no respect for my elders’, so I shut up at some point because I didn’t want this to last forever.
She even made up a story on the spot, saying that as a child, while playing tag with Steven, I had run into her, nearly crippling her—WHICH IS A LIE; I HAVE NO RECOLLECTION OF THIS SHIT!
Anyway, then she screamed a few very annoying questions SHE DIDN’T WANT AN ANSWER TO ANYWAY—like if I was suicidal, why I chose the sewer as a place to end my sorry existence as a convict, if I even ever thought about the people around me, and if it wasn’t enough that I was eating her food and living in her house.
Then again, twenty minutes or something about the tattoos—she won’t ever let that go...
And then she started with paranoid crap, that I was only constantly injuring myself to give her a heart attack and that I was out for my inheritance, which I wouldn’t get anyway because she’d never get a heart attack over some unrelated prick who, and I repeat, ’was ladida~killing himself.’
SHE MADE ZERO FUCKING SENSE!
And every now and then she would turn to the side as if she wanted to grab something to beat me with, but seeing that there was nothing there, she came back to me to scream.
AND THEN she slapped papers in my face; well, they landed in the air and around the room, but it was intended to be a slap.
After I refused to bend down and pick them up, she got AGAIN angrier and told me that it was a relation test or something, proving that she and I were related.
She even pulled the sleeve of her blood-red blouse up to show me the place she was pricked, as if I ever wanted to see even a speck of her skin—eww...
Then she crossed her arms on her throne and looked at me as if she had won.
I laughed at this old child, and that was the reason I was screamed at for another twenty minutes, and the whole ordeal ended with her saying that if I got this bloody after my first time going out and so evidently proved myself to be incapable, then I was grounded.
Specifically, she yelled me out of the room with the words, "Grounded, GROUNDED, GROUNDED!!!!"
I don’t think I have ever been grounded since my mother died, and when she was alive, it was called reflection time.
When I was FINALLY OUT from the seven layers of hell and closed the door behind Henry and me, I looked at the snitch darkly.
"How the fuck could you do this to me?" I felt all wobbly and drained, as the old dragon surely had feasted on my soul energy or something.
Henry looked down at me.
"How could you let me think for a second that you were bleeding out in front of my eyes? Weren’t the times I had to watch you slit your throat because of the shadows enough?"
"SHOULD I HAVE LEFT THE FUCKING TEETH AND WORMS THERE TO EAT ME?" I finally lost my angelic patience at him, only to hear the old hag through the closed door.
"HOW DARE YOU SCREAM IN MY HOUSE?! NO RESPECT NEITHER FOR YOUR OWN BODY AND HEALTH NOR FOR YOUR ELDERS! COME IN AGAIN AND SEE HOW I HANDLE YOU!"
Hearing her, I froze before I hurried the fuck down into my room.
Fuck, if she was coming after me again, this would end in a fistfight for sure, and given that I couldn’t really fight back against her, she would surely win and then forever mock me for being a wimp.
I slid the door down when I arrived and conjured up a cigarette. I left Henry outside of the old dragon’s door, but that was only for his best; maybe that traitor had more to snitch.
What a fucker. That asshole won’t sleep on my bed—on my mattress tonight, that’s for sure.
A body materialized in front of me, in his hand a little square with contact lenses.
"You came to fight it out?" I asked him with a tone that showed just how annoyed I was with him.
"No, didn’t you want to go back to the tunnel?" Henry asked before going inside my bathroom to put his contact lenses in.
I didn’t even want to mention the embarrassing fact that I had been grounded while being an adult, so I did not.
"What the hell? I am not going anywhere with you, damn snitch."
"And if I apologize?" Henry asked from inside the bathroom.
What made me even more pissed was that there was no puppy-like tail wagging from his side and that he seemed oddly composed instead, talking like someone who wasn’t crazy and also not crazy for me.
"Go and fuck yourself!" I took a drag of my cigarette and resolved to stay angry with him.
"I just wanted to show you that you would be dearly missed by the people who love you."
"Yeah, in one and a half hours I could feel that love," I scoffed.
"And as I said, I needed to get rid of the teeth and worms inside my FUCKING NECK!"
"NO SCREAMING IN MY HOUSE!" The old hag hollered from upstairs, making me flinch and nearly drop my cigarette.
We both went completely silent, and on my part, it was definitely in fear of her coming downstairs, until Henry came out of the bathroom and crouched down in front of me, his eyes having a ’human’ blue again.
"I am not angry because of that, but because you went ahead first and let yourself get bitten, even though you knew I could use the shield."
"I thought that they maybe filled up the tunnel and that if you teleported inside, you’d die. You told me you teleport by dissolving your body, but I step through a time and space window, which means if I can’t go somewhere physically, it won’t work." ...I think.
Henry smiled, but he looked as if he had been struck.
"It’s my fault for not letting you flip the coin. Everything could have been prevented if I hadn’t asked you to do that." He hugged my legs and placed his head on my knees.
"I was mostly angry with myself." Ah, was that the reason he also endured my grandma going crazy, to punish himself?
Cute.
I took a drag of my cigarette, and seeing his imaginary tail and ears all droopy, I didn’t feel angry anymore.
I combed through his fur.
"It’s okay, I am fine. The nagging hurt me more than the rat or Maestro could. Be sorry for that."
"I am sorry." Henry sounded much more obedient, and I was satisfied with that, together with how he leaned into my touch.
"How could the rat attack you?" He raised his head only enough for me to see his blue eyes, which sadly were covered with contact lenses.
"I know; that thing was fast, damn fast, otherworldly fast. If these things made it upstairs, then they would wreak chaos." They couldn’t have already been inside the city, or every human would have been eaten already.
"But you are so powerful; how could that happen?" He whimpered.
"As long as the table isn’t turned or I concentrate, the giant’s powers go into self-regeneration, I think." I stroked over his eyebrow, thinking how he always described mine as ’especially well-behaved.’
If I had to describe his, I would say sensual and strong, just like him.
Oh my fucking god, what the hell am I doing finding attributes to describe the eyebrows of a guy? I must have lost it completely.
I turned my head away from him to take a drag of my cigarette and breathed it out before turning back to him.
"I am much faster than enchanted humans or monsters, but my skin isn’t steel-like. That this rat-like thing was so fast makes it so unnerving. Because of that, I want to go back and see what’s going on underground."
"Will you let me constantly protect you with the shield?" He looked so puppy-like again, damn.
Who could even stay angry with him when he starts his seducing?
"Yeah, constantly. But we’ll go home the second you feel weak. How are you now?"
Henry pecked my knees like a cute little chick.
"Right now? Strong..." He answered in the most adorable tone.
"Later... I’ll be weak again."
