Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 537 - 536: Why Didn’t You Tell Me?
Upon hearing what Nia Mitchell said, the Manager nodded repeatedly and carefully sized her up.
But it wasn’t until ten seconds later that he realized his actions.
"No!"
He suddenly yelled, stopping the Cashier’s action and Nia’s as well.
Um...
Nia turned her head towards the Manager.
"What’s going on?"
"Well... Mrs. Peary."
The Manager, usually so smooth, was so nervous he stumbled over his words.
"You may not know, this Royal Dynasty Hotel is a corporation under Young Master Peary. How could we possibly take your money, Mrs. Peary?"
Huh?
Nia was a bit stunned. She hadn’t realized the Royal Dynasty was Maxwell’s corporation.
But yesterday, when he knew she was coming to the Royal Dynasty for a class reunion, he didn’t say a word.
So this is his corporation.
Nia really had no idea. The Royal Dynasty Hotel was renowned in Capital Town, and it turned out to belong to Uncle Peary.
I still didn’t know, and he didn’t tell me last night either.
Nia felt a bit embarrassed. Could others mistakenly think I came here to show off on purpose?
"Well... I’ll get going then."
After saying that, Nia took the black card and walked towards the Private Room. She grumbled about Maxwell Peary in her mind the whole way.
Stepping out of the Manager and Cashier’s line of sight, Nia found a relatively secluded place and dialed Maxwell’s number.
Upon receiving the relayed messages from downstairs, he knew Bunny was about to call.
Gazing at the constantly ringing phone, he slightly curled his thin lips and answered, ignoring his current business partner.
"Hmm? What prompted you to call me?"
His voice was enchanting; a simple upward lilt could make one’s heart flutter.
Nia bit her lip, her face flushing slightly.
"Why didn’t you tell me last night?"
Nia asked chidingly, her voice still soft and sweet, like a feather brushing gently against Maxwell’s heart.
Each time he heard her voice, Maxwell’s entire body would tingle.
"You didn’t ask."
Maxwell started to nitpick, acting as if this had nothing to do with him.
Nia was at a loss for words. How was I supposed to ask about this?
From now on, whenever I go somewhere, do I have to ask if it’s your property?
Besides, she had previously thought Maxwell Peary was just the CEO of MC Group. Who would have imagined that the illustrious Royal Dynasty Hotel was also under his name?
"Even if I didn’t ask, you should’ve told me."
Nia frowned, her cheeks puffing out.
Maxwell sat on the other side, an amused look on his face as he shifted his position.
"I didn’t know you were going to pay the bill. Wasn’t it supposed to be split?"
If the bill had been split, Nia wouldn’t have discovered the Royal Dynasty was his property, nor would she have used the black card.
Even though they hadn’t been together for very long, he had some understanding of her character. Nia wouldn’t squander money just because she married him, nor would she flaunt her wealth.
So, her suddenly using the black card today meant something must have happened.
Could it be that she was bullied?
At this thought, Maxwell’s entire demeanor changed instantly, a dark aura enveloping him.
The business partner sitting opposite him was stunned. So the rumors about Young Master Peary’s unpredictable moods are true. TSK TSK. So scary! No wonder he’s still single.
