Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 536 - 535 Mrs. Pei!?
Charles Northwood, on the other hand, sat leisurely to one side, not a hint of worry on his face. Even if the entire world doubted Nia Mitchell’s ability to pay, he never would. After all, who was Maxwell Peary? He was a man who could stride unhindered anywhere in Capital Town.
Nia Mitchell walked to the front desk and pulled out a black card. "I’d like to pay for Private Room Number One first."
Nia Mitchell smiled. The cashier glanced at the black card and then at Nia. The cashier had weathered countless storms and worked for several years in the Royal Dynasty, but she had yet to encounter a black card. Who would have thought this ordinary-looking girl was the owner of such a black card.
"What’s the matter? Is there a problem?" Nia noticed the cashier staring at her for a long time without swiping the card, and she found it rather odd.
"No... not at all." The cashier chuckled, assuming she was probably some rich heiress dressing down for fun. These days, there were plenty of wealthy people who dressed shabbily and wandered on Main Street; it was simply a bizarre pastime.
The cashier took the card and swiped it, only to be surprised when Maxwell Peary’s name appeared on the screen. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
"AH!" The cashier gasped, her eyes wide with disbelief.
"What’s the matter?" Nia Mitchell found it even stranger. Is there something wrong with the card? This is a disaster! How am I going to explain this when I get back home?
"No... Nothing." The cashier swallowed hard. Sensing that something was amiss, the manager approached them.
"What happened?" The manager glanced at Nia without paying her much attention, then focused on the cashier.
"Manager, come take a look." Seeing the manager, the cashier immediately felt a sense of support and quickly showed him the computer screen.
When the manager read the name on the screen, he froze for a moment before turning his gaze to Nia. "I’m sorry, miss, may I know your surname?"
"Uh... Mitchell. Nia Mitchell." She swallowed nervously, her heart pounding.
"Ah, Miss Mitchell, please wait for a moment." The manager smiled and gave a quick nod to the cashier. Understanding immediately, the cashier stepped aside and poured Nia a cup of tea.
"Miss Mitchell, our machine seems to be stuck. Please wait a moment," the cashier assured Nia with a smile. Hearing this, Nia nodded.
The manager stepped into the Waiting Room and quickly dialed his superior to report the incident. By the time he received a call back, five minutes had passed.
"It’s Mrs. Peary." The voice on the other end delivered the shocking news to the manager, who was equally astounded.
Who would have believed that Young Master Peary was married? Not a girlfriend, mind you, but Mrs. Peary—his wife! This was world-class news, like a bombshell that left everyone stunned.
The manager emerged from the Waiting Room, sweating profusely. My God, Mrs. Peary is right in front of me! Was I rude to her earlier? He mentally replayed his recent actions, meticulously checking if he had said anything inappropriate. Only when he was sure he hadn’t did he feel a sense of relief.
"Manager." When the cashier saw the manager approaching, her racing heart finally began to slow, as if she had found her pillar of support again.
Nia Mitchell followed the cashier’s gaze and looked at the manager curiously. Is it that hot today? Why is he sweating so much?
"Manager, can I pay now?"
