Extra: Yandere Milfs Obsessed with me!-Chapter 74: Lady Jezabel of the Sun
Thousands of kilometers from the Spectrum castle, the continent Tenebris, vast as it was, remained under a gray sky. The air was dry, charged with an odor of burned dust, a cold stench of vile putrid flesh. In short, it smelled of death.
This region of Tenebris was known for its rare-level monsters and perhaps forgotten artifacts from the thousand-year war.
Dark abandoned ruins rose amid the cracked ground, reminding of the ancient destructive battles humanity had fought to repel those infamous demons.
And throughout the longevity of that war, the most powerful of that era had left artifacts said to be capable of changing even a commoner without special lineage or talent.
For the Academy factions, Tenebris represented precious territory. People did not come only to kill monsters that threatened to escape if the rift lasted too long. They came rather for the minerals, relics, and rare crystals that rarely lowered market prices.
Each discovered rift almost always triggered a conflict between factions: the one who cleared it first owned it. There was no possible negotiation.
And today, the rift discovered by the Dawn Faction seemed, on the surface, weak enough to warrant a quick expedition. But Lady Jezabel of the Sun had misjudged the situation. Not only had she not alerted the allied Spina clan of her Elven clan, but she had greatly underestimated and come with the weakest of her available subordinates.
The princess of the Sol clan stood in the middle of the blackened ash field. The heat around her formed a constant halo, and the air vibrated softly.
She was a blonde elf with short hair, cut neatly at cheek level. Her skin had the color of a clear, smooth peach. Her red sun-shaped tattoo, located in the center of her forehead, glowed faintly under the gray light. Her blue eyes, lined with black makeup, gave the impression that she observed everything with haughty calm.
And that was the case. Elves were known for being arrogant. But she was a notch above.
She was very well known for her execrable character.
"Hey, you there, what is this shit spell!?" she snapped at a first-circle mage.
"Sorry, Princess, I don’t know any other spell."
"Pathetic..."
Even though he was humiliated, the mage in question kept jubilating in his heart; after all, this woman was a bomb in both the literal and figurative sense.
A black leather corset clung to her body, tight over her broad, firm chest. Drawing the eye toward her wide hips and thick, shapely thighs, of a fleshy and appetizing roundness, perfectly visible, marked by the golden lines of the garment. A long red sun mark was drawn on her thigh, rising near her crotch.
Her legs were wrapped in matching greaves. Her body was muscular without excess, with generous forms that could make any straight man hard.
Fifth-circle mage, she had access to five elemental spells, all linked to fire and temperature, as required by her clan. But despite her power, the situation was complicating.
"I didn’t think this rift housed wyverns."
There were three, all young, but their scaly bodies were already massive enough to crush a horse without effort. Their wings spread in large membranous arcs, projecting gusts of dusty wind. Their scales, a dull green, reflected the glow of Jezabel’s fireball. Their claws scraped the rock, producing a dry, brutal sound.
Behind Jezabel, the other elves of the Dawn Faction formed a semicircle. All bore the tattoos of the Sol clan and adopted the same distant attitude. They were accustomed to looking down on everyone. They used exclusively fire or lightning elemental magic.
"They seem more resistant than expected," remarked a mage, his fingers charged with unstable electricity.
"That’s normal," replied another elf, forming a sphere of flames above her palm. "Young wyverns are less stupid than people say. Adults would have been epic... and we would already be dead."
Jezabel frowned slightly.
"Stop chatting. Focus. And spread out, you bunch of idiots, do you want to take an area attack?"
She did not raise her voice. She did not need to.
The wyverns charged.
"Tss, bunch of incompetents!"
The lightning mages reacted first.
<Elemental Magic: Lightning>
Bolts shot from their arms, striking in clean lines the beasts’ flanks. The impacts produced a sharp noise, accompanied by ground trembling. The wyverns roared but continued their advance. Their muscles under thick scales partially absorbed the electricity.
The fire mages followed.
<Elemental Magic: Fire>
Blazing jets burst from their hands like orange torrents. The flames enveloped the wyverns, but their natural resistance to fire reduced the attack’s effectiveness. The monsters merely roared, advancing ever faster.
One of them leaped, wings folded, aiming directly at a mage.
Jezabel raised her hand without hesitation.
<Solar Veil>
A circular barrier of heat formed in front of her. The air turned almost white. The wyvern hit the veil and was hurled aside, sliding to the ground with a hoarse cry.
"You are pathetic," Jezabel snapped in a dry tone. "Fall back. I’ll handle it."
The elves did not argue. They knew she did not tolerate disobedience.
She rose slightly, the ground lowering under the effect of concentrated heat. Her blonde hair lifted gently as a burning wind blew in one direction.
"How arrogant she is..." murmured an elf.
"But she has the power to back it up," replied another.
Jezabel extended her fingers.
<Elemental Magic: Fire>
A burning breath spread around her. The air became heavy and suffocating for the others nearby.
The heat gathered above her hand, taking the shape of an incandescent bird. Its wings were made of compact flames, each beat producing a vibration in the air.
She directed the bird toward the wyverns.
<Incandescent Heat>
The bird rushed in a straight line, leaving behind a trail of fire that undulated like a wave.
*Boom*
When it hit the first wyvern, the creature was surrounded by thick flames. Its cries lost power as its skin began to carbonize.
The two other wyverns separated to bypass the impact zone. One gained height, beating its wings to produce a violent gust. The other slithered on the ground, accelerating to strike Jezabel by surprise.
The aerial wyvern opened its maw.
A disgusting green liquid formed between its fangs.
"Acid!" shouted a mage behind Jezabel.
But Jezabel did not even turn around; it was not her in danger but the idiot who thought to save her for some reason.
<Elementary Body>
Her body became flame. Her silhouette distorted slightly, making her intangible for a few seconds. The acid jet passed through her burning body without reaching her, falling on the man behind her where it melted him in a viscous sound as he screamed in pain.
She reappeared, perfectly intact, eyes fixed on the enemy.
She raised her other hand.
A much denser fireball formed, absorbing all the mana around.
<Incandescent Heat>
"Die like the trash you came to kill."
She launched the attack.
The ball crossed the distance in an instant, striking the wyvern in the chest. The explosion hurled pieces of burned flesh in all directions. The creature fell like a stone.
On the ground, the last wyvern leaped to strike her with its jaws.
Jezabel made a brusque gesture.
<Solar Veil>
A warm light burst from her body, blinding the entire field. The wyvern was blinded for a second. Jezabel jumped with a quick movement, placed her hand on the monster’s skull, and exploded the heat at a precise point.
The creature collapsed, its head entirely burned.
The field became silent.
The other elves merely observed, stiff and impassive. But their gazes were filled with admiration.
Jezabel landed slowly, her aura calming.
"The rift is ours. Collect the crystals."
She wiped a drop of sweat from her collarbone, then added in a cold voice:
"And next time, scouts check the monster levels better. I have better things to do than cover your mistakes. Otherwise, even your family won’t survive my anger."
