Eternal life begins with saving my clan-Chapter 28: Celestial Heavenly Sect
Chapter 28: Celestial Heavenly Sect
It had been a week since all the powerful clans came to the Su clan for a business deal, but who would have expected Su Yen's proposition would be out of this world?
Ten thousand gold coins and 70 percent of their profit, each of their income on each of the armors they sold.
All this, after they made the armor themselves.
Su Yen, in the ancestral ground, shook his head when he thought about the exaggerated expressions on their faces when he mentioned those conditions.
"Did I go too overboard?" He thought for a moment before shaking his head.
"Who cares?"
He focused on his work and began to set a series of complicated formations on the Celestial Heavenly Pagoda earnestly.
"With this, the world would enter into a tech era," he mused with an elated smile creeping on his face.
After working for another couple of hours, he muttered, looking at the pagoda with burning eyes.
"Finally done!" He shouted with pleased satisfaction written all over his face.
He released the pagoda, and it levitated gently in the air; the luster around was shinier than before.
Looking at the pagoda, Su Yen knew there was more to it than met the eyes.
Leaving the ancestral ground, he was deep in thought. "Should I go for the mobile phone from my previous life or come up with a new concept?"
"If I am to come up with a new concept, what would it be?"
Deep in thought, he was already back in his courtyard, but he didn't know.
"Little brother. Little brother," Su Lan called, but Su Yen didn't hear.
"Su Yen," she shouted.
"En!"
Su Yen blinked his eyes twice before recovering from his thoughts.
"You're here?" He said.
"Of course, I'm here. What do you expect?" Su Lan responded, rolling her eyes at her brother.
"Anyway, all the elders are gathered in the hall."
Inside the hall, Su Yen looked at the ten or so elders without any expression on his face.
An elder with a loose, sparse head stepped forward. "Clan master, about a week ago, the Crimson Jade Pavilion refused to do business with us."
Hearing this, the faces of those inside the hall changed.
"How could they?!" Supreme Elder Su Feng shouted furiously.
He had been a short-tempered person and wouldn't take anything lying down.
"Elder Feng, relax," Supreme Elder Su Hua said calmly before turning to face Su Yen.
"Clan master, it is not only the Crimson Jade that is against us. The Zhang sacred clan from the Northern barren land has closed down our shops in the Northern barren land," she reported and took a pause before continuing.
"The Li clan attacked our store, but we had long prepared for their attack, so we didn't lose any men."
"Now, only the Huang family is doing business with us, apart from the ordinary merchants from our land and those from the Southern Barren land."
Hearing this, fury gnashed the hearts of everyone inside the hall. They knew what this meant.
The Crimson Jade Pavilion was looking down on them because they were stronger than them, while the Zhang and Li clan didn't care and didn't give them face.
"How is the sale of the Metal Bone Construct?" Su Yen asked without any change in his expression.
"It has reduced by half," Elder Hua answered.
"What should we do now? The new construction in the Dreadshade forest has taken all the money in our reserve," Elder Jie said with his voice laden with concern.
"Should we stop the construction of the Dreadshade Forest?" Su Ming asked.
"No need," Su Yen shook his head. "Continue. How long will it take for it to be roughly completed?" He asked, looking at Elder Jie.
"Hmm. Around two months," he responded after giving it some thought.
"I want it completed in two weeks. Deploy all the manpower of the clan if you can..." He paused and creased his brow.
"For those soldiers in the barracks, send them to work on the construction site," he commanded in a solemn voice, giving no room for questions.
Hearing this, everyone exchanged subtle glances, wondering why their clan master insisted on the construction of their new clan inside such a dangerous forest.
Su Yen looked at the faces of those elders and could guess what they were thinking, but he didn't care or rather he was too lazy to explain his plan.
"From this moment onward, we're no longer a sacred clan," he announced.
Gasp!
For a couple of seconds, everyone was trying to process what they had just heard, their mouths hanging wide open.
The elders, who had long served as the guardians of tradition and custodians of their sacred clan's heritage, were visibly shaken.
Each of their expressions conveyed their unique reaction to Su Yen's startling proclamation.
Elder Jie, a venerable figure known for his unwavering commitment to tradition, seemed to age a decade in an instant.
His eyes, once filled with a sense of purpose, now held a bewildered disbelief as if he were grappling with a surreal nightmare.
Elder Hua, known for her wisdom and serenity, betrayed a subtle but unmistakable flicker of concern in her eyes.
Her countenance, usually a portrait of tranquility, now bore a creased brow and a hint of consternation.
Meanwhile, Elder Feng, known for his hot temper, found his usually poised composure crumbling.
His mouth, which often voiced the importance of tradition, hung agape, forming a silent plea for clarification that went unanswered.
As for Su Ming and Su Lan, they froze with unsealed shock written all over their faces.
The main hall descended into a collective hush of silence.
Even the hot-tempered Elder Feng was left speechless, so what about them?
"L-L-Little…brother…." Su Ming's brain was short-circuited as he didn't know what to say.
"Seeing your expression, I know what is on your mind. But that's not what I'm doing," Su Yen said with a clear raspy voice.
"En…T-then can you tell us…" Elder Jie asked.
If not for Su Yen being strong, they would have long given him a serious beating and removed him from the clan master position.
But now, their hands were tied.
"We're a sacred clan with no authority and influence apart from the small towns under us. But I want to change that…"
"My vision for the clan is bigger than just being a sacred clan alone, but something bigger and more powerful," he said, his voice laced with confidence and determination.
"Those who look down on us today will look up to us tomorrow," he continued and stood on his feet.
His aura began to rise, and the air inside the hall began to vibrate vehemently.
Those with lesser cultivation began to sweat profusely, praying in their minds for Su Yen to retrieve his aura.
However, they were also shocked by the powerful aura coming from him. They knew he was strong, but not this strong.
"We're no longer a sacred clan but a sect… The name of the sect will be…." He gazed fixedly at everyone and said slowly.
Word for word.
"Celestial Heavenly Sect."
