Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree-Chapter 566: Return to the Island
The procedures were quickly completed, and the witch officer handed a few items to Tom: a set of gray, ordinary material apprentice robes, a Black Sail Badge with a skull emblem, a thin "Academy Island Regulations Handbook," and a simple map indicating his accommodation area.
Duke looked at these items. It seemed that the things a newly joined Wizard Apprentice could get were pretty much the same as before, with only slight differences.
Tom took these items, feeling a bit excited and full of energy.
Duke watched all this without saying much.
All he could offer Tom was a starting point and the most basic protection.
The future path, and how to gain resources and improve strength amidst the strict hierarchy and fierce competition, would all depend on Tom fighting for himself.
Duke took out a small Space Ring and said, "Inside are a thousand Level 1 Magic Stones and some basic potions. I won’t provide you with any more resource support in the near future. Only when you can show your value, will I consider giving further support."
Tom solemnly accepted the Space Ring, kneeling directly to the ground and bowing in gratitude, "Thank you for Duke’s generosity. Tom will surely repay you one day!"
Tom was very aware of his circumstances and knew that the future path would not be easy; everything would have to be achieved through his own efforts.
If he couldn’t show sufficient value, he wouldn’t be able to gain Duke’s attention, let alone fulfill his own revenge desires.
Duke glanced at Tom one last time, his tone indifferent, "Here, live, and grow stronger."
The first trial Tom needed to experience was getting through the Wizard Apprentice stage. If he couldn’t become an Official Wizard on his own, there would be no value in supporting him further.
Duke didn’t have much leisure time to focus on such an ordinary boy; everything depended on Tom himself.
He then left Academy Island and headed to his Deserted Island.
Tom stood in place, clutching that set of gray apprentice robes and the cold badge, looking toward the direction Duke had left, and then at the vast, mysterious, and cold Academy Island ahead of him, taking a deep breath.
His path of wizardry officially began on this land, full of the unknown and challenges. And his revenge target, like a distant lighthouse, was both far away yet guiding his every step forward.
...
Duke returned to the Deserted Island, where he could see the dense woods and patches of herb gardens at a glance.
Everything was in order, not seeming chaotic, but rather somewhat pleasing to the eye.
This was all thanks to the Wood Elves on the island; they were very skilled at growing herbs and knew how to better plan the land and forests.
"Lord Duke, you’ve finally returned!" A lively and spirited voice called out first.
A swift figure darted in like a swallow returning to its nest, gently wrapping itself around one of Duke’s arms.
It was the Cat Girl, Nina, with healthy, sun-kissed skin and short, playful brown hair. The furry triangular cat ears on her head twitched sensitively, and a slender black tail affectionately wrapped around Duke’s wrist.
She was wearing light leather armor that only covered key areas, revealing a taut waist and long legs, perfectly displaying the feline grace and wildness characteristic of her kind.
Nina tilted her face up, her large vertical pupils like the finest amber, glistened with unrestrained joy and attachment as she gazed at Duke.
Almost simultaneously, there were gentle footsteps from the other side, and a fragrance as fresh as orchids in a secluded valley spread out.
The Wood Elf Yala approached slowly; she was more reserved than Nina, but her eyes held the same deep longing and tenderness.
She wore a light green long dress woven from delicate elf flax and vines, the hem trailing the ground, yet it did not impede her graceful steps.
She possessed the typical, stunning beauty of elves, with pointed ears peeking out from her moonlight-silver hair, her skin fair and almost translucent, and emerald green eyes brimming with the vitality of an entire forest.
Nina’s figure was tall and lithe; the long dress, though not revealing, perfectly outlined the full and taut curves of her chest and hips and her slender, ungraspable waist, naturally exuding a mature charm that sharply contrasted with Nina’s lively and spirited nature.
She gently took hold of Duke’s other hand, her cool fingertips carrying a soothing power, and her voice ethereal and pleasant, "Welcome home, Lord Duke. We’ve all missed you while you were away."
Having not seen each other in a while, Duke patted Nina’s head, then wrapped his arm around Yala’s waist, feeling the silky texture.
There was hardly any change on the island; Nina had been diligently practicing, now reaching the Great Knight Realm, and could consider practicing High-tier Breathing Techniques.
Yala on her side was also continuously learning various knowledge. For elves, advancing in realm could be ground out over time, and their efforts didn’t make much of a difference.
...
The night grew deeper, and Duke was in the private bath of the island castle, where the steam drifted like a light veil.
This was a pool that drew on the underground hot springs and Elemental Energy. The water was a warm, milky white, emitting a faint sulfur smell mixed with the freshness of plants, and the surface was scattered with calming flower petals and Elf Moss emitting a faint light.
Duke leaned against the smooth edge of the pool, closing his eyes to rest, feeling the warm water soothing the fatigue of his long journey. Small footsteps, accompanied by the familiar fragrance of forest dew and orchids, quietly approached.
He opened his eyes to find Yala and Nina had quietly stepped into the pool at some unknown moment.
Nina had changed out of her light, gauzy clothing, swimming in the water like a nimble, shy mermaid. Her honey-toned skin glowed with health under the steaming water vapor. She cautiously approached, sitting not far from Duke, her cheeks flushed by the heat, while her feline eyes shimmered with tentative exploration and irrepressible joy against the water’s reflection.
Yala appeared more calm and natural. Her light green elf dress had been removed, leaving only a close-fitting inner garment. Once soaked by the hot spring, it clung to her, accentuating her mature, graceful figure like that of a woodland goddess.
Her silver hair, loosely tied with a simple vine, had a few strands draping around her nearly transparent white neck and collarbones, with water droplets slowly gliding along the elegant lines.
In the steamy mist, Yala’s emerald eyes appeared even deeper and more gentle, seemingly holding infinite tenderness. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Yala naturally swam closer to Duke, extending her cool jade-like hands endowed with the elves’ innate soothing natural power, gently massaging his shoulders and neck.
