Empire Building With Infinite Warehouse-Chapter 87: We Stick Together
Julien kept scrolling, his eyes moving faster across the menu.
He saw small white pills that permanently granted night vision to whoever swallowed them, a thick green salve that could cure any system-based poison in seconds.
He found strange, heavy ores that could instantly repair broken weapons without a blacksmith.
There were hundreds of items that ordinary Awakeners would literally kill each other to get their hands on.
A slow realisation started to hit him.
The Republican camp was basically a massive, isolated army.
They were cut off from the main Association markets from other sanctuaries, which meant they were entirely self-reliant.
And what does an isolated army always need more of?
Supplies.
They definitely had injured soldiers who needed advanced medicine and fighters who were stuck at a certain rank and desperately needed advancement roots to get stronger.
They needed gear, and they needed it badly.
A small smirk crept onto Julien’s tired face.
The plan finally clicked together in his head.
’I don’t need to sneak over the walls,’ Julien thought, feeling a spark of actual excitement.
’People with guns do not shoot the guy bringing them water in the desert.’
He was not going to hide in the shadows. He was going to use his class the way it was meant to be used, and going to invade the Republican camp, but he was going to do it as a merchant.
Julien would take the next few days to gather enough merchant credits.
Then, he would completely pack his Infinite Warehouse with the rarest, most valuable items from his Tier 1 shop and build a massive catalogue of goods that the camp leaders could not possibly refuse. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
After which, he was just going to walk right up to their heavily guarded front gates in broad daylight.
He would show them a sample of his products and tell them he was open for business.
If they wanted his life-saving items, they would have to open the doors and invite him inside themselves.
Julien opened his eyes and looked at Alice again.
He finally felt ready.
"Hey Alice," Julien said quietly, leaning forward in his chair.
"I need to tell you something about Aiden."
Alice stopped smiling and looked at Julien.
The serious tone in his voice instantly killed the relaxed mood in the hospital room.
Chris also stopped looking at his healed hands and turned his head.
"What about Aiden?" Alice asked, her voice dropping to a whisper.
"Did you find out what happened to him? Is he okay?"
Julien took a deep breath.
He hated being the one to drop bad news.
"He is alive," Julien said right away to stop her from panicking.
"But he is not exactly safe right now. Isabella told me everything while you two were busy dying in here."
He leaned forward and laid it all out.
He told her about the secret SSS-rank potential Aiden apparently had. He explained how the Republican faction found out about him and locked him up inside their sanctuary.
He didn’t sugarcoat the fact that the camp operated completely outside the normal Association rules, so they were basically treating her little brother like a captive weapon.
Alice just sat there and listened as her face went through a whole roller coaster of emotions.
First, it was pure relief just knowing her brother was actually breathing.
But then the worry set in.
And finally, the worry turned into boiling anger.
’Oh boy, here it comes,’ Julien thought to himself, watching the air around her shift.
Alice was completely exhausted from pumping her mana into Julien earlier.
But somehow, she still found the energy to get mad.
A cold, green mist started leaking out of her dark silver ring.
The creepy necromancer’s mana spread across the white hospital floor, making the room drop a few degrees in temperature.
Chris shifted on the bed, looking extremely worried about her.
"Alice, calm down," Chris said, holding up one of his newly healed hands.
"You are running on fumes right now."
Alice completely ignored him.
Her eyes were locked on the floor, and her jaw was clenched tight.
"Then I know what to do," Alice said.
Her voice was cold and completely serious.
She stood up from her plastic chair and turned toward the door.
She was fully ready to march right out of the building, walk all the way to the Republican sanctuary, and start raising an army of skeletons to tear their walls down.
It was the worst plan imaginable.
Julien jumped up from his seat and grabbed her by the shoulders and forced her right back down into the chair.
"No, you don’t," Julien said firmly.
"You are not going to start a war with an entire military sanctuary by yourself. You will literally be killed before you even see the front gates."
Alice glared up at him, but she did not fight back.
The green mist slowly faded away as she slumped back into the seat.
"So what are we supposed to do?" she asked, looking completely defeated.
"Just leave him there?"
"Of course not," Julien replied, shaking his head.
"We are going to get him out. But we are going to do it my way."
Julien sat back down and explained the plan he just cooked up.
He told them about his idea to use his Infinite Warehouse, explaining how the Republican camps were completely cut off from normal markets and needed supplies.
He was going to pack his inventory full of Tier 1 goods, walk right up to their front doors, and force them to invite him inside as a high-end merchant.
Once he was inside their walls, he would find out exactly where they were keeping Aiden and figure out a way to get him out.
Alice listened quietly.
She bit her lower lip, clearly hating the idea of waiting, but she knew his logic was solid.
Sneaking in was impossible.
Fighting their way in was suicide.
Trading their way in was the only real option they had.
"I don’t want you two in trouble because of me," Alice said softly, looking down at her hands.
"This is my family problem. You guys already did enough just keeping me alive today."
Chris scoffed loudly from the hospital bed.
"Are you kidding me?" Chris said, leaning forward.
"We literally fought a giant boss together. You saved my life like three times today and we are already in trouble."
"He is right," Julien added, giving her a small smile.
"You are family, Alice. We stick together. Plus, let’s look at this practically. Your brother is apparently an SSS-rank Awakener. Having a guy like that on our team will only help us level up faster. We need all the heavy hitters we can get if we are going to survive whatever crazy tournament that giant sky face was talking about."
Alice finally let out a small laugh and wiped her eyes.
She nodded slowly, agreeing to the plan.
"Okay," she said.
"We do it your way."
