E-Rank or SSS-Rank: I Awakened a Skill That Shouldn't Exist-Chapter 314: Troublesome.
Chapter 314.
On a massive desolate planet where nothing lived anymore, everything was already dead. Every creature that once walked this world had been wiped out only days ago. Silence ruled the wasteland.
Then, in the middle of nowhere, a large grey portal shimmered into existence. A figure stepped through it and entered the dying, breaking world.
He wore a large grey cloak. His features were almost human, but not fully. His entire skin was jet black, his eyes two pools of molten lava glowing with seething, violent energy. One look at him made it clear he was sentient. Intelligent. A creature built for destruction.
He walked with a calm, composed expression as he passed through ruined strongholds. Dead knulls littered the ground, their lives snuffed out in an instant. But the dark goblin was not wandering blindly. He had come here with purpose.
His long white hair whipped in the air. His presence alone made the whole broken world tremble into static.
Soon he reached his destination. A larger stronghold. The palace of the knull. Broken. Shattered. Silent. He didn’t spare it a second glance as he walked forward until he stood before the empty throne of the Knull Lord.
No one remained. No survivors. It was as if they had all been erased from existence.
The dark goblin stood before the throne, cut open his own hand, and let his thick dark purple blood drip onto the cold surface. It looked like a ritual, a blood sacrifice. The throne absorbed the blood instantly. It began to pulse with power.
Across the planet, the broken corpses of the knulls twitched. Their bodies dissolved into streams of energy, and all of it surged toward the throne.
The dark goblin sat. Every drop of that energy poured into his body.
When he opened his eyes, the red glow blazed even brighter. The energy kept flooding him, deeper and stronger, every second pushing him closer to something terrifying.
So this is it. The power of a transcendent monster.
He could feel it. He was stronger now. Far stronger. And he was climbing closer to the power of the Knull Lord himself.
"Rest now, my fellow monsters," he whispered. "The humans who brought you to this pathetic end will pay with their lives. All of them will be killed by us soon."
A dark laugh escaped him.
Before, goblins could never talk like this. Never feel this level of joy. But he was happy, and for a specific reason.
"I do not think you know this. If you had waited a little longer, you would have gotten to torture those humans yourself. But now it does not matter. They are gone."
His grin widened.
"The best news of all is that the White Guardians are gone. Those arrogant protectors of Earth. With them dead, the balance is ours. Earth is now free for the taking."
A wicked grin tore across his face, promising doom and destruction.
---
Meanwhile, back on Earth. At the cursed base. Or what used to be the cursed base. It was too damaged and broken to be called anything like a base now.
Many heroes patrolled the ruins. Scientists were scattered around, still trying to gather information about the cursed serum. Four days had passed since the battle that destroyed the cursed. Everyone had worked nonstop to collect data, samples, anything at all.
But the higher-ups demanded more. More information. More answers. So the heroes and scientists pushed deeper into the ruins.
Soon, three professors and several heroes reached a sealed section of the base. It was badly damaged, but with the heroes clearing a path, they finally stepped inside.
And for the first time in days, they found something new.
In the middle of the ruined room stood a strange figure suspended inside a glowing green tube filled with luminous green liquid. It seemed to be the main subject of the cursed experiments.
As the group approached, a heavy, unnatural dread settled over them. They froze. Their instincts screamed that their lives were in danger.
Before they could react, the figure inside the tube stirred.
Its eyes snapped open.
Deep glowing green eyes stared at them.
Their minds shattered instantly. They did not even have time to scream. Their bodies turned to stone, their essence turned to stone. Everything about them became stone.
The creature inside the tube swiped its hand. The tube shattered. It collapsed to the floor with a dull thud.
Its grotesque form twisted and shifted. Bones popped. Flesh melted. Slowly, painfully, it reshaped itself into the form of a human girl. Mostly human. Her features were still wrong. Several green glowing veins crawled along her skin. Her presence was predatory and suffocating, something no human had ever felt before.
She tilted her head. Two glowing green eyes burned like rubies pulled from the deepest pit of hell.
She waved her hand one more time and the stone statues collapsed into dust.
She walked out of the ruined room.
Her revival was a doom no hero had prepared for. Not even Drake knew. The creature whose blood was used to create the cursed serum had revived, and the terror she was about to unleash was going to be far worse than the serum made from her blood.
---
Somewhere far away from the cursed base, the air warped. Space distorted violently. A portal formed, but it was not red, yellow, blue, or green.
It was black. Not painted black. Real darkness. Living shadow.
A figure stepped out. Dressed in long, wild black leather fashioned from something that should have stayed dead. His hair was long and unkempt like some ancient savage. There was a primal, insane aura around him.
His eyes were pools of endless darkness. The shadows responded to him, growing darker as if bowing to his will.
The man sniffed the air. His expression turned grim.
"This is troublesome." He walked forward, cursing under his breath. "Those damn humans have no idea what they have awakened. They have no idea what kind of destruction is coming for them."
His hands curled.
"If she is not stopped soon. If she revives the others... then this world is finished. Humanity will be wiped out."
He growled in pure frustration.
"So damn troublesome."
