Don't Fall For Me, CEO-Chapter 957: Wasting Time!
"N-nothing."
Evan Zachary came back to his senses and realized July Quinn had already looked away, standing in the corner sipping champagne, ignoring the people’s admiration around her.
Only he, Evan Zachary, was still absentmindedly staring at her.
Evan awkwardly withdrew his gaze and turned to meet Yvonne Donovan’s slightly annoyed look.
"Do you also think July Quinn is prettier than me? Is that why you care more about her?"
"Yvonne..."
Evan thought that July was indeed prettier than Yvonne, but saying he cared more about July seemed a bit unjust.
Just then, Yvonne realized her momentary lapse and quickly changed her tune:
"Actually, if you like her, if you care about her, it’s no big deal. After all, I’ve heard that a lot lately."
"Yvonne, what nonsense are you talking about? If I really cared about her, I wouldn’t have gotten involved in the first place."
He just hadn’t expected July Quinn to be even more beautiful than a goddess; he initially thought it was just Photoshop.
"Don’t worry, I’ll go and take her down a notch."
To please Yvonne, Evan made a promise.
Evan made the promise and was about to walk over to July Quinn.
But Yvonne, feeling uneasy, clung to Evan’s arm and followed along.
Soon, the two of them were standing in front of July Quinn.
Yvonne cleverly hid her unease and took the initiative to introduce them.
"July, this is Evan Zachary. He’s Mr. Zachary’s youngest son!"
"This is my father’s newly found daughter, July Quinn."
Evan extended his hand, wanting to shake hands with July Quinn.
Civility before confrontation was his usual style.
Unexpectedly, when he reached out, July only glanced at him coldly.
"Isn’t this the guy who teamed up with you to blacken my name? There’s no need to introduce us!"
Evan & Yvonne: "..."
They wanted to use the introduction as a way to take July Quinn down a peg.
However, July Quinn didn’t even want to know them.
"July, you might not be aware of the importance of networking since you haven’t been in our circle. Besides being a relationship blogger, Evan runs an entertainment company. I thought introducing you would maybe lead to future collaborations."
Yvonne continued, "The more people you know, the more opportunities you have. Once you’ve been in this circle long enough, you’ll understand my goodwill."
These words made July glance at Yvonne twice.
She had to admit that shortly after leaving the Donovan family, Yvonne’s skills had significantly improved.
Just look at how skillfully she used this tactic of retreating to advance.
"Whether or not you’re well-intentioned, I can’t say, but I know those close to you are just about inseparable, obviously not inclined to help me. Useless socializing is just a waste of time!"
July curled her lips, her tone tinged with silent laughter.
But to those with keen eyes, it seemed like she was mocking Yvonne and Evan.
Yvonne was momentarily speechless.
Evan also found July to be difficult, unyielding no matter what.
"July Quinn, Yvonne was just introducing us, is it necessary to speak so harshly?"
"Did I ever say I wanted to meet you? Don’t impose your wishes on others."
July said this, then suddenly raised an eyebrow coolly: "Do you want to meet me so badly because you’re planning to publicly apologize to me here? If that’s the case, I might be able to forgive you."
