One after another, the Glorious Achievement notifications rolled across every player’s screen like a tidal wave. The effect was immediate—and explosive.
For the countless players still stuck fumbling around the shallow floors of the mine dungeon, it was like getting hit with a meteor. frёeωebɳovel.com
The forums detonated.
Players who had all but written off the dungeon were now scrambling back, flooding every corner of the boards with speculation, awe, and envy. Threads were being created and buried by the second, entire discussions rising and vanishing in real-time chaos.
Featherlight’s name shot back into the spotlight. His brief dip in attention—overshadowed recently by a new wave of rising talents—was completely reversed. His fans, emboldened by this new surge, mocked challengers who’d dared to dream of surpassing him. They flaunted their association, swelling their own guild numbers in the process.
Unbeknownst to Ryan, his growing fanbase had quietly ballooned into the thousands.

Inside the dungeon, Evelyn and her party stared in stunned silence at the barrage of system messages that followed their victory. Since they had all cleared the dungeon together without a single death, the rewards were identical.

Evelyn blinked at the screen, trying to process what she was seeing. She turned slowly, her gaze landing on Ryan, who was practically vibrating with excitement despite the casual front he tried to keep up.
"Were your previous Glorious Achievement rewards like this too?" she asked, still in a daze.
Ryan shrugged, pretending to think. "Ah, pretty much the same. Though... yeah, this is a bit better."
He kept his tone light, but inside, he was just as thrilled as the rest of them. Two Auxiliary Talent Points at once! That was no small bonus.
He knew just how game-changing those points could be. Having tasted their power already, getting two more felt like winning the lottery.
Faded Leaf Kitten muttered under her breath, "My god... this isn’t a dream, right? One achievement gives all this? Isn’t that totally busted?"
"Who cares if it is?" Evelyn replied quickly, snapping out of her shock. "As long as the people earning them don’t blab, who’s going to know?"
She lowered her voice a little and glanced at the others. "Seriously. Don’t tell anyone Glorious Achievements give this kind of stuff. Let them guess."
Then, without warning, she pumped her fists in the air and let out a cheer, her excitement finally breaking through. "We actually did it!"
—
It took a long minute before the group remembered the boss they’d just defeated.
They snapped out of their daze and gathered around Goldtooth’s body to collect their loot. At this stage, low-level dungeon bosses didn’t exactly drop legendary gear, but it was still worth checking.
Since Ryan had already passed loot rights to Evelyn, she handled the distribution.
The boss had dropped a one-handed hammer—nothing flashy, but useful. It gave +1 Intellect and +5 Healing. Evelyn handed it over to Heavyblade Vina without a second thought. She was the party’s only healer, and it was a perfect fit.
"Nice," Vina said, gripping the hammer with a grin. "About time I got something decent."
Snarlfang, on the other hand, dropped a two-handed sword. Unfortunately, no one in the party could actually use it. Ryan and Heavyblade Vina technically had the ability to wield it, but neither of them were built for Retribution, making the weapon basically dead weight.
To make matters worse, most dungeon boss drops were bind-on-pickup—meaning they couldn’t even pass it along to someone who could use it. Evelyn sighed, tossed the sword into her bag, and resigned herself to selling it off to a vendor for a few silver coins later.
Meanwhile, Ryan knelt down and looted the quest item from the boss: Goldtooth’s Head

Quest Complete: Slay Goldtooth!]
—
The message popped up as soon as he secured it. It also served as a wake-up call to the others, who were still floating on the high of their Glorious Achievements and had nearly forgotten the actual reason they’d come.
"Alright," Ryan said, dusting his hands off. "We’ve got the quest item. Let’s go turn it in and get out of Goldmine Town."
He pulled out his Hearthstone and began channeling. Moments later, his figure shimmered and vanished from the dungeon. Mia followed his lead, leaving just as swiftly, both of them blinking back into the inn at Goldmine Town.
Once they were gone, Faded Leaf Kitten switched her chat mode from party to local. "Miss, weren’t you going to say something just now?"
Evelyn raised an eyebrow. "Say what? How he knew how to reach the lower level? Or why his Hearthstone wasn’t even bound to Goldmine Town?"
Her lips curved into a faint, knowing smile. The thrill from earlier had completely faded, leaving her voice calm and unreadable.
"He’ll tell me when he’s ready. And if he doesn’t? Then he doesn’t. Pressing him for answers would only ruin the trust we’re building. Even if I got what I wanted, it wouldn’t be worth the damage in the long run."
Before Faded Leaf Kitten could respond, a green glow surrounded Evelyn’s body. A second later, she vanished from the dungeon as well.
Kitten stood there in silence for a beat, then sighed and activated her own Hearthstone, following the others back to town.
Only Heavyblade Vina remained, quiet and still. She wasn’t being moody—she was just doing what Evelyn had asked. Uploading the dungeon clear video.
—
The moment the video hit the forums, all hell broke loose.
At first, players watched it out of curiosity or hype. But it didn’t take long for that curiosity to sour.
They didn’t care how cool the boss fight looked, or how clean the execution had been. They wanted to know how the party had reached the lower area in the first place—a path that had been deemed impossible by practically everyone up to this point.
Heavyblade Vina, being the reserved type, had no intention of dealing with the forum’s collective meltdown. As angry comments piled up, she simply pouted at her screen and closed the browser, leaving the trolls to scream into the void.
That only made things worse.
Outrage exploded across the boards. "Cheating!" "Bug abuse!" "Exploiters!" The accusations came fast and furious, putting the forum admins in a rough spot.
The developers weren’t in a great position either. They only had control over the forums—everything in-game had already been hard-coded into the system. There was nothing they could actually change, and they certainly couldn’t violate player privacy to settle internet arguments.
All they could do was make the same official statement over and over again:
"All dungeon mechanics are functioning as intended. Please refrain from speculation regarding other players’ strategies."
Of course, that only fueled the fire.
The complaints eventually reached Evelyn through Blackcollar Studio’s professional player channels. When she read them, her reaction was anything but sympathetic.
’I posted the clear video out of kindness—and now you’re biting the hand that fed you? Seriously?’
Not long after, a new post shot to the top of the forums.
[Tyrant Queen’s Declaration]
"I cleared the upper area, went out for dinner, and came back to go straight to the lower area. That’s it. Keep whining, and I won’t post videos anymore."
—
That short, blunt post hit like a slap.
Forum activity instantly calmed, though tension still lingered. Dozens of player groups sprang into action, determined to test her claim. The theory spread like wildfire: maybe you had to beat the upper boss, leave the dungeon, then re-enter to unlock the lower path?
At that very moment, one persistent team—who had been brainstorming and testing every possible method—stood before the previously impassable path to the left of Boss Number 2.
