Chapter 298: Defeat part 1

The clash between Freygar and Camilla began. Now, the cloned Aesir didn’t have his pistols anymore, nor the Frelsi had any firearm.

However, both weren’t willing to delay more there. They were intending to finish that battle as fast as possible.

Freygar didn’t even bother to take his knife. When fighting against someone as fast as that woman, it was a deadly mistake to waste any time. Every second mattered there.

Both kicked the ground at the same time, boosting themselves forward. Camilla was clearly weaker than him regarding physical prowess, but her swiftness showed to be amazing in the long run. While Freygar had a better impulse at first, her speed increased as she ran toward him.

Her agility wasn’t just on her run, but also on her movements. As soon as she got in range, she began to assault him with several well-made kicks. The most frightening of her flurry of blows was that those kicks were as fast as a punch, but much more powerful as well.

Freygar defended the attacks with both arms, also as dodging when he had the chance. The insane speed of that woman was enough to make the Aesir back away several steps in order to not get struck by any of those blows.

Her assault ended with a final kick that pierced the air like a bullet. Freygar couldn’t dodge this one and got hit on his stomach. He felt the taste of bile in his mouth. That attack was powerful enough to lift his feet some inches from the ground.

’Don’t falter now! That’s exactly what she is expecting! Focus, focus!’

Freygar had been training close combat skills in the past months. Now he had the grasp of the mentality of a fighter. He knew very well that she would take advantage of it. She was expecting him to lower his guard or to stay shocked due to the impact.

’I am not letting you get me cornered here!’

Instead of letting that pain weaken his arms, the Aesir close tightly his fists, biting his lips to wake up his body from that excruciating sensation on his stomach. His eyes were glazed at Camilla, who was following that kick with a punch to his jaw.

Freygar leaned his body to the right, making the punch pass by his face by inches. Meanwhile, he launched his fist forward, hitting her on the face.

The strength of his punch, added with the impetus of her attack, made his blow be two times as powerful.

Because of his height, and the length of his arms, that was the first thing that Freygar learned when fighting. A counter punch!

After receiving that well-timed blow, Camilla nearly fell to the ground. Somehow, she could take her balance back again.

Both fighters maintained their distance for some time. Freygar was still recovering from that attack on his stomach, and Camilla was somewhat dizzy. Her nose was bleeding, also as her lips.

"If you had aimed to the jaw, I would have fainted right on the spot. Too bad for you, hahaha!" She mocked him, which made Freygar wonder if she was taking that fight even slightly seriously.

"Stop with the bullshit!" Freygar spoke, between teeth.

"I think that you should review your concepts, Cloned Aesir. You guys are fighting so much against us, but our actions would surely be less chaotic if you just heard us and cooperated. Do you think that Uppsala would need to get destroyed, or all the cities used as a hostage if we could just talk properly?"

"How many people you needed to kill to get to this conclusion?"

"I return this same question for you, then. After all, you were the one who killed my mom, don’t you?" Her eyes were still as crazy and ironical as ever. Nevertheless, now Freygar could see pure killing intent in them. It made his very being shake deep inside. The Aesir needed to admit, he was frightened of that look.

Freygar had a grim expression behind his mask. He tightened his fist.

"Inna, right? I couldn’t forget about her name, nor the eyes that she had when I killed her."

"Not just that. But the Fenrir was the one to capture Drott and took him to his execution, right?"

Freygar nodded.

"Aesirs and Ridires began to dye this district with blood before the Frelsis. Don’t come with this bullshit about kill people or destroy things, because that’s the very thing you have been doing since the day the Frelsis were born!"

"We did it to maintain the order and tradition of our district!"

"You did it to continue with this corrupt system of yours! Everyone here knows the truth, but these cursed masks and this brainwashing they did on you all, prevent you to do something about it!"

Freygar finally drew his knife, taking advantage of her distraction. He was going to rush toward her again, but she raised one hand, pressing a button on her watch. It made the Aesir hesitate.

"Now it’s late, Aesir. You will face our wrath because of your actions. It’s our time to be the villains here."

Some seconds after, the ground began to tremble with such intensity that the warriors around there couldn’t keep standing on their feet.

They felt that sensation before. The earthquake that they didn’t know what was the cause.

For a moment, Freygar guessed that it could be explosives.

’Are they trying to destroy the foundations of the Castle? This place is almost perfect in all points, so I doubt they would be able to do it... But I didn’t believe that they could invade this place before as well. What kind of thing are they planning?’

No matter how many times he tried to get up, he couldn’t. That earthquake was just too strong.

Abruptly, something broke through that floor until the surface.

Everyone there witnessed the giant body of a robot snake going out of the ground. The machinery sounds of its body echoed through the floor.

The earthquake was gone now, but nobody could raise from the ground just yet. Their legs ran out of strength due to their fear.

"That’s..." Freygar uttered. "That’s our defeat."
