Chapter 80: 80. Sending Buddha off to the west

Even she felt much more relieved, they were finally about to arrive.

Having spent the whole day on the ox cart, Hua Jin felt as if her entire body was about to be shaken apart.

Traveling long distances in this era was indeed a torment, no wonder her family didn’t want her to come out.

Sigh! She especially missed her car, unfortunately, it was parked outside the courtyard, and at least for this lifetime, it’s best not to think about it. It’s a shame she had stored so much petroleum diesel, all for nothing.

Luckily, there was a consolation prize -- electric bicycles, and not just one, but several mountain bikes. These were all prepared during the doomsday theory times, now thinking back, she felt she truly had foresight back then.

Occasionally, when there was no one around, she could take them out for some fun.

"This is great," Hua Jin let out an exaggerated breath, making Hua Chengtian laugh.

"Tired?"

"Still okay, get used to it a bit and it’ll be fine."

Hua Chengtian’s smile widened further, as if worried that she might not want to bring him along in the future.

"Daughter, you can put away the lantern now," Hua Chengtian shook his head, looked at the terrain ahead, and said.

In at most half a cup of tea’s time, they would reach Shanggu Town.

Hua Jin understood her father’s meaning and quickly put the emergency lantern into space and replaced it with a lantern.

Although the light was limited, it was better than having none.

"Has Young Master Luo not woken up yet?" Hua Chengtian turned his head to glance at the carriage.

"He woke up and fell asleep again."

"Dad, Young Master Luo Song asked us to send him directly home."

"Not going to the clinic?" Hua Chengtian frowned.

"There’s a doctor at his residence."

Hua Chengtian nodded in understanding, so they would take him directly home.

"Alright, go and wake him up then."

"Okay," Hua Jin thought the same, turning and walking towards the carriage.

If they didn’t wake him up, how could they send him home? After all, they didn’t know where Luo Song’s home was.

"Wake up... Young Master Luo Song..." Hua Jin gently nudged.

In a daze, Luo Song felt someone calling him, and with effort, opened his weary eyes, staring blankly at the young girl in front before suddenly realizing.

"Young Master Luo Song, we’ve arrived in Shanggu Town?"

"Arrived?" Hearing this, Luo Song slowly propped himself up to sit upright.

After resting for a while, he felt a bit better than before.

Hua Jin stretched out her hand wanting to help but thought better of it and stopped.

"Could you please tell Uncle Hua that my house is at the far end of Peach Blossom Alley, with a peach grove planted on the east side of the courtyard?"

"Alright," Hua Jin nodded, then promptly exited the carriage to relay the address to her father.

At this moment, the ox cart had entered Shanggu Town.

At the dead of night, Shanggu Town was exceedingly quiet and the night was dark. Without the emergency lantern, because they were familiar with the road, the ox cart actually picked up speed and quickly turned towards Peach Blossom Alley.

In less than half a cup of tea’s time, they reached near the entrance of Peach Blossom Alley, stopping beside a peach grove, outside a large residence.

Although the twilight was heavy making it hard to see clearly, it was vaguely apparent that this was a very large courtyard with a wide area, and the big black and red gate exuded a grand and antique aura.

Glancing at the carriage, Hua Jin guessed that Young Master Luo’s family background should be quite good, but she had clearly underestimated it, seeing it was even better than she expected.

"We’re here," Hua Jin said, pushing the carriage door, reminding them, and without waiting for a response, jumped off the ox cart along with her father.

With her father there, nothing else required her.

Hua Chengtian stopped the cart, took out a wooden support, and then turned to enter the carriage.

Inside the ox cart, Luo Song was attempting to stand and walk out by himself and looked up just in time to meet Hua Chengtian’s gaze.

"Uncle Hua," Luo Song called out, a smile pulling at his lips.

Hua Chengtian nodded and smiled back, carefully observing Luo Song. Though his complexion was still pale, it was clearly much better than when they first found him. At least, he was conscious now and there was no need to worry about him being in life-threatening danger.

Hua Chengtian was quite happy.

"Young Master Luo, are you feeling better? Can you move? We’ve reached Peach Blossom Alley, shall I carry you out?"

"Thank you, Uncle Hua, I’m much better and can manage on my own." Luo Song said gratefully, supporting himself.

"No need to be polite," Hua Chengtian said, holding on to Luo Song, who was slightly wobbling as he half stood, and helped him out of the cart.

Clenching his teeth and enduring the dizziness, he slowly moved out of the carriage, and then, unable to help himself, first sat on the cart’s shaft. Seeing the little girl near the gate casting an inquiring look, he nodded promptly.

Hua Jin immediately knocked on the door.

The "bang bang" sound was especially noticeable in the silent night.

"Who is it at this time of night?" A disgruntled mumbling came from inside after a moment.

By then, Luo Song, slightly recovered, walked over to the gate with Hua Chengtian’s support. Hearing the impatient tone made his eyes narrow slightly.

Seems like he’s been too lenient all this time, as they had become increasingly unruly one by one.

"Uncle Li... it’s me... your Young Master," Luo Song spoke, though his voice was a bit hoarse.

The person inside was taken aback.

"Open the door?" Seeing the door didn’t open immediately, Luo Song’s tone abruptly turned stern.

This familiar tone sent a shiver down the spine of the person inside the door, it really was the Young Master.

The last bit of hesitation vanished, and he hurriedly opened the door.

"Young Master..."

Seeing the familiar figure, a flattering smile spread across his face as he took a step forward, then his expression changed.

"Young Master, what’s happened to you?" Saying this, he rushed forward to support his young master, putting on a very worried expression, calling into the courtyard for the servants.

A few people quickly came, including the butler who had gotten the news.

"Young Master, what’s happened to you, how did Li You take care of you?"

The butler anxiously held his young master, having never seen him in such a disheveled state, thinking angrily about not letting go of the people serving him later, was so tense that he hadn’t noticed there were still people outside the door.

"It’s nothing," seeing Uncle Luo, Luo Song’s expression relaxed a little. "There was an accident on the road, and Uncle Hua saved me." fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

"An accident?" Uncle Luo was shocked, hurriedly looking over his young master’s body. He then realized the young master was wearing rough clothes. Fortunately, there were no obvious injuries, but his complexion was extremely poor, pale and clearly visible even in the dark night.

"Zhang San, hurry and get Doctor Wang," the butler shouted to a servant beside him, preparing to help the young master into the house.

"Hold on," Luo Song raised his hand, then turned his gaze to the father and daughter at the door. Only then did the butler notice the two people standing at the door, one big and one small.

"Uncle Hua, Sister Hua, I am greatly indebted to you today. I, Luo Song, will remember this deeply and will surely reward you handsomely."

Hearing this, Hua Chengtian smiled; everyone likes to hear words of gratitude, saving him was indeed accidental, and thanks weren’t necessary. Politely, he said, "Haha... Young Master Luo, there’s no need to exaggerate. We just happened to be there; Young Master Luo doesn’t need to keep it in mind. Now that you’re safely home, we’ll take our leave."

Having delivered him, at this moment Hua Chengtian just wanted to hurry home.

The butler understood now, realizing that the people at the door were the Young Master’s saviors. He immediately signaled for the servant next to him to support the Young Master, and he went forward and knelt.

This happened too suddenly, startling both Hua Chengtian and Hua Jin, making them step back in unison.

No wonder they were a father and daughter pair, their movements synchronized, even their expressions were identical.

Then, realizing the situation, Hua Chengtian quickly stepped forward, wanting to help the butler up.

This butler seemed to be older than him, besides, when had country people ever received such large gestures, they aren’t kids after all.

"Butler, please get up, you mustn’t do this. There’s no need."
