Disaster Apocalypse: Farming, Family, and My Hidden Secret Space-Chapter 110: Everybody’s here.
Chapter 110: Everybody’s here.
"Mom, do you see if that’s Uncle’s car in front?" Liu Dagen squinted at the shadow of a car ahead under the large snowflakes and said to his mom.
Hua Fang vaguely saw it too but wasn’t sure, as it was the second day of the new year, a day for visiting one’s parents’ home, so meeting others on the road was quite normal.
Even so, Hua Fang couldn’t help but feel a bit excited at her son’s words, thinking of her brother, who came to welcome them every year.
With that thought in mind, her footsteps on the snow quickened, though not by much.
It’s quite strange to step into a snow pit and go faster.
"His mom, I also think it’s Chengtian’s car," Liu Xiang squinted as they got closer, unable to hold back his words.
"Dad, it’s Uncle," Liu Ergen, who had better eyesight, couldn’t help shouting just after his father spoke, and then ran forward in large steps. He was so excited that his left foot couldn’t keep up with the speed of pulling out his right foot, and he accidentally fell on the snow, making his younger siblings and sister-in-law laugh.
Hua Chengtian also saw a few figures ahead and unconsciously sped up. Dahuang dutifully ran forward.
"Second Sister!" Hua Chengtian shouted.
Then came the sound of coughing when a gust of cold wind accidentally entered his mouth, making Hua Chengtian quickly pull Dahuang to a stop.
At this moment, Hua Fang saw clearly the person on the ox cart and ran forward excitedly.
"Chengtian..."
Beside her, Liu Xiang quickly handed over what he was holding to his sons and supported the children’s mom, who was struggling to run forward, anxiously saying, "Slow down, slow down."
On the ox cart, Hua Chengtian finally stopped coughing in his mouth, and the whole family of the second sister had already come to the side of the ox cart, so he quickly jumped down.
Seeing the second sister’s family covered in snow, Hua Chengtian felt heartache and quickly picked up the youngest nephew to the ox cart.
The child’s cheeks were red from the cold. When he saw his uncle, he squinted his eyes and laughed, calling "Uncle" happily, allowing his uncle to pick him up without any struggle, showing he really liked his uncle.
"Uncle"
"Uncle"
The other children were also very happy and quickly called out to him.
"Yes, yes, hurry and get on the cart," Hua Chengtian, seeing his eldest nephew and niece, smiled happily, nodded, helped them brush off the snow, and urged them to get on the cart, not forgetting to nod at the niece-in-law.
"Little brother," although knowing her brother would come to pick them up, Hua Fang couldn’t help but feel excited and glanced proudly at the children’s dad beside her.
She had only one brother, but he was worth several brothers of others’ families, Hua Fang was indeed proud from the bottom of her heart.
Thinking of the various fresh foods and vegetables sent by her brother every now and then over the past few days, who else could say that a married daughter could be thought of so much by her own family, even a few sister-in-laws were quite envious.
"Second Sister, Brother-in-law," after the children got on the cart, Hua Chengtian greeted his brother-in-law.
"Chengtian," Liu Xiang smiled broadly at his brother-in-law.
Their children were raised so well, and in the end, it was no small part due to his brother-in-law’s efforts, for which he was very grateful in his heart.
Hua Chengtian smiled along as he saw the snowflakes newly off his sister’s clothes accumulate again and quickly said, "Brother-in-law, Sister, let’s talk at home, quickly get on the cart."
"Yes, yes, let’s go home quickly," Hua Fang knew well too that it’s not a place for talking outside, so she and the children’s dad got on the ox cart, and Hua Chengtian snapped the ox whip.
When they reached the village entrance, they saw their father eagerly looking around with half-hearted conversations with people beside him.
Still worried about his eldest sister’s family, after sending the second sister’s family to the village entrance and learning from his father that the eldest sister had not arrived yet, Hua Chengtian hurriedly went to pick up the eldest sister.
Hua Laohan barely looked at his son when he saw the second daughter’s family had arrived, especially when seeing the little ones, the old man’s eyes lit up a bit, and upon hearing the children call out "Grandpa, Great-grandpa," the usual seriousness was replaced by a face full of wrinkles, doting on everyone as he looked at them one by one.
Hua Fang and her husband quickly called "Dad," seeing their daughter looking as good as during the busy farming season, Hua Laohan nodded in satisfaction, saying, "Good, good," then reached out towards the youngest child, his great-grandson.
"Little Tie Dan, do you miss Great-grandpa?" he said, like performing some magic, pulling out a piece of sugar candy from his sleeve and shaking it in front of the child.
The little guy’s listless expression changed instantly upon seeing the candy, eyes shining, nodding immediately without needing to think, and saying "I do"
The soft, tender voice made Hua Laohan cherish him greatly, causing Hua Fang and her husband to smile endlessly.
"Then let Great-grandpa hold you for a while, would you like that?" Hua Laohan continued to tease his great-grandson.
The young child, seeing the nod of his parents, reached out fearlessly towards Hua Laohan, as Hua Laohan directly grinned with joy, holding the child close.
After finally getting to hold his great-grandson and placing the piece of sugar candy in the child’s mouth, he generously shared some candies with the other children, and after cherishing the children for a while, fearing they’d catch cold, he urged his daughter’s family to hurry home.
"Dad, aren’t you going home?"
Knowing why her father didn’t seem to be leaving, Hua Fang asked anyway.
"You all go ahead, I’ll wait for your eldest sister’s family."
He cherished both his daughters dearly, naturally having to be fair to both.
Having picked up the second daughter’s family but not waited for the eldest daughter, he knew the child would be distressed without saying so.
"I’ll stay with Dad," Hua Fang said, calling out to the children’s dad, "You go ahead with the kids."
Almost every year it was like this, Liu Xiang nodded unsurprised, greeted the old man, and quickly took the children toward the village.
He planned to drop the kids at home before coming back to accompany his father-in-law.
Meanwhile, Hua Cheng Tian was barely on the official road with the ox cart, he saw in the snow the vague silhouette ahead, and urged Da Huang to speed up his pace.
"Big Sister, Brother-in-law."
"It’s Chengtian," upon hearing the voice, the eldest sister of the Hua family couldn’t hide her excitement and said to the man beside her, her hand clenched unconsciously onto the man’s hand.
Then the sound of "Tss," the man looked helplessly at his children’s mom, raised his hand up in front of her eyes.
Several places with broken skin immediately appeared on the hand, Hua Fen, her excited mood paused, a hint of guilty flashed in her eyes, she chuckled: "Oops, oops, I’ll watch my strength next time."
Zeng Yong just shook his head, not taking his wife’s words about watching her strength seriously, he was already used to it.
Strength has its own advantages, at least for not easily being bullied inside or outside the home, thinking of the changes in the home over the years after marrying his children’s mom, he touched his cotton coat, looking warmly at his wife, even the usually fierce sister-in-law was honest in front of his wife.
The children behind them couldn’t help but quietly laugh as they watched their father’s appearance. freewebnoveℓ.com
Glaring slightly at the children to get them to behave, Hua Fen excitedly took a step forward, calling out her brother’s name, her mouth not idle.
