Brando was the second-to-last to enter Old Days Manor.

Upon entering, he immediately discovered that the world here seemed to have changed completely. The people frozen in place before him made his heart skip a beat.

"These people?" He immediately rejected his earlier guess. "No, it's impossible they all met with trouble. This isn't the Abyss after all."

He quickly regained his composure and surveyed the entire manor again, but was surprised to discover that Saul wasn't here!

"Only he wasn't fixed here? What exactly happened?"

Regardless, Saul seemed to have escaped the entrance trap, which made Brando breathe a slight sigh of relief.

"Since Saul could do it, I should be able to as well." Brando's pack still contained three bodies. Because he had fled back, he had brought almost all his possessions with him.

"I wonder where Saul entered Old Days Manor from." Brando looked around and suddenly noticed footprints on the ground.

"These footprints go directly into the manor! Only Saul wasn't fixed outside here. The path he took can enter the manor."

Brando narrowed his eyes, preparing to follow Saul's route.

However, just as he stepped onto the decayed steps, he suddenly felt someone grab his calf.

"I caught someone! Now it's your turn to be..."

Before the little girl could finish speaking, Brando's head "whoosh" separated from his body and flew into the air.

The little girl stopped mid-sentence, her face darkening as she looked at the head flying in the air with venomous eyes.

"You're cheating."

Brando ignored the little girl, only focusing on his body's condition.

Sure enough, after the little girl touched his body, a numbing sensation began spreading upward from his feet.

If he had hesitated even slightly just now, he would probably have been frozen in place as well.

"This little girl is problematic."

Flying in the air, Brando opened his mouth, and a black shadow suddenly shot out, hitting the little girl's head.

"Crack!"

The little girl's head immediately split into four pieces, and a cloud of dust burst from her skull.

However, the little girl's mouth was still moving, making "giggle" laughter.

"Caught you, caught you! Now you're it!"

Brando instantly knew he was in trouble. The next second, he appeared in a magnificent hall.

Brando immediately felt his hands were heavy. Looking down, he was actually holding a huge wine tray.

The tray held over a dozen crystal goblets filled with amber liquid.

He had actually become a wine steward in the banquet hall? frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

"What are you standing there for? Hurry and serve wine to the guests! If any guest runs out of wine, you'll become a new wine glass!"

Brando was suddenly pushed, and though the force felt small, he involuntarily staggered forward two steps.

"My strength has disappeared." He instinctively protected the tray in his hands, not letting the wine glasses fall.

At this time, an elegant man in a purple dress suit approached, holding a wine glass. He looked at Brando and chuckled: "Did you anger that little girl? Why are all the others honored guests while you're a wine steward?"

Kismet laughed heartily, silver bangs trembling before his eyes, not hiding his gloating at all.

Brando wasn't familiar with Kismet, but he knew this person's name.

"Probably because I angered the host here." He felt disdainful inside, after all he had escaped once, but hadn't expected his attack on the little girl would also be considered contact, causing him to be caught again.

Next time, run immediately without stopping or counterattacking.

"You who entered first, do you know what's going on here?" Brando quietly asked Kismet, wanting to see if they had discovered new rules.

"What we've discovered so far is probably just that you need to play your role well, otherwise you'll be kicked out by the banquet's host."

Kismet pressed the goblet to his lips, eyes curving with a more subtle smile this time.

"That blue-haired wizard with the monocle just ignored the butler's obstruction and insisted on going to the second floor. Now he's been kicked out of the hall, who knows where he went."

"Butler?"

"A woman wearing a black tailcoat and small round hat... don't know where she's gone now. But you're a wine steward, maybe you can check the back kitchen and other places."

People came and went in the hall. Brando quickly found everyone, and after five minutes, the butler that Kismet mentioned brought in the last second-rank wizard to enter - the short wizard.

Brando recognized this person, called Dulut. A failed magical experiment had caused his body to shrink by one-third. This was probably the first time in his life wearing formal attire.

He could barely walk properly.

But Dulut waited in place for several more minutes without seeing Saul.

He couldn't help asking Kismet, who had just returned from inviting a lady to dance: "Did you see that young wizard who came in behind you?"

Kismet, who seemed to have forgotten his purpose for coming, paused his smile: "You mean Saul?"

"You know him too?"

"The Purity Wizard Tower's reputation isn't low." Kismet chuckled, then put away his smile. "I haven't seen him. Never have. None of the guests, servants, or even the occasionally appearing hostess here are Saul."

Brando remembered Saul, who was the only one who hadn't appeared outside the manor, but he didn't tell Kismet about this.

"I'll go look around."

The wine steward identity had its advantages. He could approach anywhere without arousing suspicion.

Brando walked around the hall carrying the wine tray. When he reached the circular staircase in the depths of the hall and prepared to go up, he was stopped by the butler.

"Madam hasn't requested it. You cannot go up."

"Sorry."

With the blue-haired wizard's precedent, Brando didn't persist and left directly.

But just as he turned around, he heard urgent "thump thump thump" footsteps from the stairs.

The sound was very urgent, completely different from the leisurely, cheerful tone of the hall.

Brando immediately turned back to see a woman who looked exactly like the butler, dressed exactly the same, coming to the middle of the staircase with an anxious expression.

She shouted ungracefully at the noisy hall: "Enemy attack! Enemy attack! Someone has broken into the manor!"

The hall's music immediately stopped, and all guests looked up at the staircase in shock.

But the several wizards who had been inexplicably dressed as guests were delighted.

In this hall, they had all temporarily lost their spellcasting abilities, which was why they couldn't even go up to the second floor.

Now with someone breaking into the manor, this boring ball was finally starting to change!

Lucy immediately abandoned her dance partner and followed the crowd toward the circular staircase.

"What person broke into the manor?"

"Is it bandits?"

People stood in the hall, looking up at the butler and asking questions.

"It's an uninvited thief!" The butler's face was stern, veins bulging at her temples. "He stole our madam away!"
