Chapter 126: Resistance

Flain trained through the night, but now without Mana Crystals, so he received half as much EXP. But he guessed he had enough already.

He opened the door and walked through the garden while a few rays of sunlight were already shining down on him. Behind him, Ivy and Aran appeared.

"Do you know what we’re going to do?" Flain asked.

"Are we going to fight?" Aran asked.

"I’d rather go back to the king’s soul, where I don’t have to do anything.," Ivy added.

"No and no. We’re going to collect Mana Crystals, it’s true that there will probably be a fight, but that’s not the main thing. Anyway, I hope you remember Flor’s words—when someone sees you other than me, don’t show your intelligence," Flain said.

Then they finally arrived and Flain knocked on the door of the room, or rather the shack, with the target of 100.

A small young man with a frightened expression opened. "Give me all your Mana Crystals, now!" he said, and swords appeared in his hands.

"S-Sorry but I d-don’t have any more," he said with a trembling voice.

Flain walked up to him and wrapped his arm around his neck. "Don’t you dare give Mana Crystals to anyone from Cru’s gang or I’ll kill you. I know killing is forbidden, but who would find out it was me?" Flain asked with a creepy smile.

The boy’s face turned pale, and Flain threw him into the shack.

"My king, may I offer a suggestion?" Aran asked behind Flain.

"Yes," Flain replied.

"You could’ve said it in a way that fits your greatness. For example: I demand payment for the privilege of you mere nobles being in my presence," Aran suggested.

"That’s pointless. My methods are far more effective," Flain snapped.

In the next 45 rooms, Flain collected 26 Mana Crystals. Students with worse rooms were afraid of Flain because they were already used to Cru fighting them whenever he pleased. Also, the fact that two massive monsters stood behind Flain didn’t help their courage. Most had no Mana Crystals or didn’t open the door, only a few had some. Flain repeated the same tactic from room number 100 to make sure they wouldn’t give Mana Crystals to Cru, but to him.

And only in room 54 did problems arise. Flain, as usual, opened the door, and it was opened by a pretty blonde girl with blue hair. He remembered her, he had sparred with her in Steel Strength.

"Oh Eran. What brings you here so early in the morning? And who are those monsters behind you?" she asked.

"Those are my summons. But enough nonsense—give me all your Mana Crystals," Flain said.

"Sorry Eran, but that wasn’t exactly a funny joke. Anyway, I was wondering... would you maybe go out with me?" she asked, blushing.

Flain was quite surprised that someone had romantic interest in him. Until now, he hadn’t presented himself as someone strong, he was like the son of a baron, and his personality wasn’t particularly outstanding. The only thing good about him was his appearance.

"Hmph, that wasn’t a joke," Flain said, and his face became wrapped in a dark veil. Swords appeared in his hands. ƒrēenovelkiss.com

"Hey Eran, this doesn’t seem like you. I know we didn’t spend that much time together, but I had at least a slight idea of what kind of person you are," she said, her expression turning focused as a sword appeared in her hand.

"You’re the first one to cause any real trouble. But I know how strong you are—and you can’t even defeat one of my summons," said Flain with a smirk.

"I also know how strong you are, and we’re practically equals. So I doubt you can summon stronger summons than yourself," she replied, biting her lip and gripping her sword even tighter.

"You’re right, I can’t," he said. He raised his left hand into the air, which was the signal for his slaves to attack.

Aran acted immediately, and his clone clashed with the girl’s sword, which surprised her. That moment was used by Ivy, whose entire body wrapped around her with ivy. The girl tried to free herself, but before she could, Flain’s sword was already at her neck.

"I wanted to be nice and only take 3 Mana Crystals since we know each other, but your little act wasn’t very kind. So now, it changes to all your Mana Crystals," he said in a sarcastic tone.

"Alright, alright, let me go," she said, and Flain signaled Ivy to release her.

The girl ran into her room, and Flain waited. In the meantime, he looked through her room number 54. It was an identical house to the one Itai had, only a bit larger and with more decorations. It couldn’t have been much bigger than Itai’s room, since Itai’s was only one number lower.

Five minutes passed and the girl was still nowhere to be seen. "Looks like I didn’t make her weakness clear enough. Ivy, go check, and be careful—she has water magic that’s pretty good for traps," said Flain.

Ivy went off and Flain waited. But Flain waited in vain, because even after 3 minutes Ivy didn’t return, and there were no sounds of battle.

"Ugh, relying on you is a punishment," he muttered.

"My king, I would never lose to such a weak girl. With this act, Ivy does not appreciate the status of being your slave," said Aran.

"Come on, Aran, let’s go check on him," said Flain, and both of them entered inside.

They saw Ivy completely bound in water, and next to him the girl wrapped in ivy—neither of them could move.

"Ivy, I told you to watch out for traps," said Flain and ran his hand through his hair.

"Heh, you said one of your summons would beat me with ease—this is your result," the girl said.

"In strength, yes, but apparently not in intelligence. Anyway, it seems I haven’t shown you your place yet," said Flain.

He suddenly appeared next to the girl, and once again, his sword was pressed to her neck.

"What will you do? Kill me? Is it worth getting expelled from the academy?" she asked.

Flain slowly began pressing the sword; a long stream of blood trickled from her neck. "Wanna find out?" Flain asked with a smirk...
