Demonic Skeleton God-Chapter 122: Flain’s Plan
Chapter 122: Flain’s Plan
[Tip: This is not basic information about the world or the system, so unfortunately I cannot disclose it to you.]
Flain was already getting used to the system answering everything, but apparently not. He’ll ask Flor, he should know the answer. Flain was quite interested because there might be a way to artificially increase mana density in the air, and that information could be very useful in the future.
Of course, there is also the possibility that the area around the academy has a higher density of mana than the Imperial City, but that would make no sense at all, given that the academy is located in this place instead of the Imperial City.
When he meets Itai, he’ll tell him about Flor’s shadow summoning ability so that Flor can’t extract anything from Itai.
Then someone knocked on the door, and Flain already knew in advance that it was his annoying servants who brought him breakfast and reminded him that lectures were starting. The girl’s body was covered in bruises and she looked like she was afraid of Flain.
Flain threw out the breakfast and headed to the first lecture, which was Third Eye. Flain decided he would attend two subjects: Third Eye, Steel Strength, Magic, and Rune Magic. He was also considering Mind Range for strategy, but that is just one of the things taught there, so 80% of it would be learning things that would either help him a little or not at all.
Flain waited with Flor, whom he met on the way. Itai arrived a moment later.
"Sorry, I was still finishing breakfast," he said.
"What did you have? I asked the servants for toast with eggs," said Flor.
"I had grilled fish," added Flain.
"What, you guys have servants? I always get some random guy knocking who gives me random food. Today I had something called pudding, but I got very little, so I’m still hungry," Itai complained.
"Pudding is good and it’s usually reserved for those in higher circles. I guess the students below you got even less pudding," said Flor with a smile.
There was silence for a moment. "Itai, I want to tell you something. Let’s go to your room." said Flor.
All three of them went to Itai’s room. It was a cozy small house that didn’t look luxurious but also not poor.
Flor then started talking about his shadow summon, exactly what he told Flain. That surprised Flain, but he figured Flor realized Flain would tell Itai anyway, so he decided to say it himself, or he had planned it from the start. Flain assumed it was the second option.
"Wow, that’s awesome. I didn’t think you’d have such a strong ability," Itai praised Flor.
But then it clicked, and he shot a look at Flain. When Flor saw that, he smirked.
"I know almost everything about you two. Your immortality, Itai your identity as the Prince of Death, and also that you destroyed the village," said Flor.
"But as I already told Flain, our alliance still stands, and I have no plans to kill you or anything like that," he added.
Itai’s nervous expression immediately vanished. "I was scared you were trying to blackmail us. I’m glad you’re still the Flor you’ve been until now," he said with a smile.
When Flain heard that, he imagined putting his hand over his face. Itai’s naivety was a problem—if someone put a knife to his neck and said they wanted to save Itai, Flain wouldn’t be surprised if he believed them.
Of course, it was highly unlikely that Flor would kill them or betray them anytime soon. After thinking it through with a cool head, Flain came to the conclusion that Flor wasn’t lying about planning to conquer the Empire of Light with them. That’s why he had to ensure they liked him as much as possible and remained loyal to him. But even if Flain’s assumptions were correct, he would never become loyal to anyone except himself.
Then Flor looked at Flain. "Don’t worry, I don’t plan to conquer the Undead Realm, so you can keep it. I’ll be glad to have such a powerful ally," he said.
Flor was right. Flain was planning, once he became strong enough, to place Itai as king in the kingdom ruled by Nexosaron, who had previously wanted to sell the kingdom to Itai—but Flain had stopped him because they weren’t strong enough yet. Flain would command Itai to hand over the throne, and in this way, Flain would gain a kingdom for himself.
Flain was aware that many undead would rebel and resist, but he would crown himself only once he was certain of his and Itai’s army’s strength, so that he could suppress them. Also, if Flor didn’t attempt anything and their relationship remained the same, they’d have him on their side, and Flain was certain Flor’s power would skyrocket by then.
’He’s lucky,’ a voice echoed inside Flain.
That surprised Flain, because for the first time it was saying something other than that Flain’s body wasn’t his. So Flain tried to respond.
’Who’s lucky?’ he asked.
Maybe Flain was being naïve too, thinking there was a chance he’d get an answer—but no response came.
"Hey, we should go. Otherwise, we’ll miss Third Eye," Itai noted.
The three of them then headed to the Third Eye class, making it just in time as a crowd entered and soon Professor Nihon Yudri arrived. freёweɓnovel_com
In the first part of the lecture, he explained that if you lose one of the four main senses for a longer period, your mind starts to panic, so you’ll have to get used to it. Then he explained that in today’s lecture, they’d be training their sight.
Each student received special earplugs that made them hear absolutely nothing, and they also put drops into their eyes which made it so they could barely see in front of them.
The desks sank into the ground, and in the distance ahead of the students, a small sphere appeared, which randomly shot projectiles at the students.
The students had to keep looking straight ahead, and when it shot, they had to put their hands up—otherwise they’d get a minus point, and if they defended themselves, they’d get a plus. Whoever had the most points would earn 10 Mana Crystals.
Flain had to be an average student, so he already gave up on the 10 Mana Crystals, which would’ve come in handy.
The sphere was activated...
