Demon Slayer: Rise of The First Werewolf-Chapter 43: Stalker.
Morning came and Adrian went to the basement, he had made his decision, he found Meggie was already there.
The demon sat in the corner looking dejected, ’ What happened here?’ he wondered but didn’t ask.
" So, you’ve made your decision?" Meggie asked and Adrian nodded. She sighed, " I hope you know what you’re doing."
Her words made him wonder if she already knew what decision he made but that would be impossible unless she can read his mind.
He crouched in front of the demon and looked straight into its eyes. " I’m going to let you go."
The demon nodded like it had expected that but there was no joy in its eyes which surprised him.
He slit his own wrist and blood came out. " Drink." The demon sucked his blood and he felt its strength returning to its former level, his blood was an antidote for his venom.
Then its eyes flickered with confusion and it looked at him. " The..I can still feel the venom inside me."
He nodded, " Did you think I would completely heal you? The venom inside you will kill you within a month.
You can come back before then to get the antidote but if you don’t bring any results." He didn’t finish his sentence but the demon knew.
" I can’t, I’m not powerful enough to get in and out of hell as I want, without protection, the barrier between the realms, even the gates of hell would incinerate me."
Those two were one of the few things in existence that can truly kill a demon, they can even kill a soul.
Adrian frowned, even with his hundreds of abilities, he didn’t have a single one that can help with that.
To be fair most of the abilities in his arsenal were useless or cannot be used by him, like the transformation abilities.
They contradicted with his werewolf nature, it was as if they were designed for humans, not Fayera.
Some were redundant, he had over a hundred abilities related to fire manipulation and over 50 for water.
So while it sounded like he had a lot of useful abilities, the truth was only around 10 to 20 were useful.
While he wrecking his brain, Meggie touched his shoulder. " Don’t worry, I’ll take care of that."
He nodded, " Well then, off you go." The demon looked at them one last time then a cyclone of black fog shrouded it and it returned to hell.
Adrian sighed, " Do you think it will do what it promised?" He asked Meggie.
" It has to, otherwise your venom will kill it, unless of course it can find a demon who can cure it but I doubt that."
Her answer made him relax a bit but only a bit, he didn’t understand much about demons or most abilities in the supernatural world, maybe one can cure his venom.
He checked the time, it was still very early, the sun was yet to rise. He went to take a shower then left.
" Where are you going?" Meggie asked.
" To see a friend." He replied and she just nodded, she already knew who Adrian was going to see.
Adrian was a shitty driver so he didn’t take the car and walked, he walked to the fancy part of the city.
There was a high school there, a private school for rich kids. Using one of his recent abilities, his body turned into smoke.
He flew up next to a tall building but barely rose 20 metres before the ability was cancelled forcing him to grab on to the side of the building.
He clicked his tongue, that ability was powerful when it comes to evasion or getting into locked spaces.
But currently Adrian didn’t have enough esper to keep it going for long. He climbed the side of the building like he was running on all fours.
In less than a minute he was already on top of the roof. Fortunately the cover of the morning darkness hid him.
He sat at the edge and watched the school, time passed and three hours went by. The sun had risen and it was time for the school to start.
He watched as kids went through the school gates, some were dropped off by fancy cars, probably their parents.
Some drove their own cars, watching people his age in uniform, driving nice cars and laughing with friends made him envious.
He felt lonely, he had Meggie and the old lady but the old lady never spoke and talking to Meggie felt like talking to his mother.
Adrian was still just a teenager and he missed talking to his peers. More and more kids showed up.
" Huh."
---------------------
Eve has been at this school for over a week now, what had happened last night still terrified her but she still went to school
Her parents objected of course and forced her brother to stay at home even though he didn’t understand why.
But Eve disagreed, she argued that changing their routine would alert the organisation as that witch had warned them.
They should act normal if they don’t want to get in trouble. So she and her dad continued going to school and work.
Her brother was to stay at home for the next three days at least. Their mother wouldn’t feel relieved with him not near her.
Just as Meggie was about to go through the gates she paused. Spirits whispered in her ears. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
Since last night they’ve been getting louder and clearer. In fact this morning she was able to see one of them.
It whispered in her ear like soft wind, the voices of spirits were hard to understand, they sounded like echoes or the wind.
As a medium however, she was able to communicate with them and that ability was growing stronger.
Eve turned her head and looked at the roof of a tall building near their school but saw nothing and frowned.
She was certain there was somebody there watching her, the spirits wouldn’t lie, she wasn’t even sure they were able to.
Suddenly a dark skinned extremely beautiful girl with a large afro came running towards her.
This was her classmate Annie, they’ve become something like friends in the past week.
Annie was kind and accepting which is what made it easier for them to get along. Annie stopped next to her.
She frowned and looked at the peak of the same building. " Is everything okay?" Eve asked.
Annie shook her head, " Yeah, everything is fine." However she didn’t sound convincing which made Eve suspicious.
She wondered if Annie knew something.
---------------
Adrian watched the two of them interact like old friends and felt like a creep.
’ Am I stalker? Naaa, I’m just making sure she’s safe.’
