Demon CEO's Hidden Love: Mr Grayson Stole Me From My Abusive Husband-Chapter 181: I Love You
Chapter 181: I Love You
Thane parked his car two blocks away from the filming location, he handed Brooke her bag and took out his wallet. He emptied all the cash into Brooke’s purse and placed a black card alongside it inside. He looked at Brooke and couldn’t help but grin at her swollen lips.
"I’m sorry...for being so big." He said, feeling the need to apologize.
Brooke who had been busy applying making to her skin, making sure to cover up the new hickeys on her neck, tossed him an embarrassed flush.
"I’m just probably no good at it." She nervously responded.
Thane held her by the chin and planted a quick kiss on her nose then on her forehead. "I loved every second of your lips on me, it’s just a pity we couldn’t do anything more."
Brooke playfully slapped his hand away. "In the car? No thank you." She flushed at how scandalous it would be if they got caught doing something like that.
Thane kept his smile, he held her hand in his and kissed the back of her palm. "Call me once you’re done with filming, I’ll come right back to pick you up."
She nodded, "I can’t wait to see you once I’m done." She said, her heart pounding with every word she said.
In a soft slow voice he said, inching closer, "I would kiss you now, but I’m afraid I’ll ruin your makeup."
Brooke smiled, "We can do that when I get back."
Thane grinned, "Do what?" he teased, his fingers gently caressing the back of her neck. Brooke knew that if she let Thane carry on with what he was doing, she would cave and they would really end up having sex in the car.
For the sake of her career, she pulled away and shot him a straight face. "I’m serious. Once I get back, we can do much more together." She insisted.
Thane nodded, "Of course. Just, don’t push yourself too much and take care of yourself." He kissed her hand again and said in a soft voice, "I love you."
And for the first time, Brooke felt herself wholeheartedly saying the words back to Thane, "I love you too."
Julian hadn’t expected Kayden to accept the reveal that he had a sister, and when his son blatantly refused to come, he was anything but surprised.
"Why do we have to travel and see your bastard and not my mother? She’s sick, and needs to be around her family." Kayden said, his eyes laced with fury.
Julian softly said, "I want us to find your sister and bring her back here, so we can all be complete. We can see your mother after everyone is together..."
But Kayden refused to even hear of the idea. "I’m not going, you abandoned us when we needed you the most. I’m not going to abandon my mother just so you can make your guilt lighter." Hearing him speak, Julian felt like he was talking to his sister all over again.
It made him wonder if Lisa felt the same way before she died.
Susan chimed, "Kayden, I admit your father is wrong, but your younger sister hasn’t done anything. She deserves a family." She tried to convince him, but her words drove Kayden to deeper anger.
In disbelief he asked, "Aunt Susan? You too? You think this bastard is better than my mother? Than us?"
"No, I didn’t say that..."
He cracked a humourless laugh, "I’ve been in a coma for nine years and he didn’t give a damn about his bastard once all that time. So why now? Why does my mother have to suffer? Even when she’s sick, no one is with her!"
Julian passed a look at his sister, as if to tell her this was the reason why he wanted to tell Kayden the truth about his mother’s condition. Hearing him sound so hurt and having no way to heal his son’s pain made Julian feel worthless.
"I swear son, that if I could help it, I would. But I have to be there with her, she’s my kid too. Please, you have to understand." Julian pleaded.
Kayden hissed, "Well I don’t understand, and I never will. I’ll give you two choices, you can either go to your bastard and forget all about me and my mother, repeating fucking history. Or, you can do the right thing and focus on your real family."
While he spoke, Julian noticed the blood trickling down his nose. He immediately took a handkerchief out of his hand and tried to help Kayden, but he slapped his father’s hand away and turned around.
"Aunt Susan, I won’t hate you no matter what you choose, but I do hope you won’t abandon me like your worthless brother did." Kayden said then left to his room.
Susan rushed over to her brother, "I’m sorry, I didn’t think he’d react like this. I’ll tell him once he cools down the truth, I’ll explain why I lied to him."
Julian shook his head. "No, don’t do that. If you’re going to tell him anything, say I’m the one who told you to lie to him. It’s all my fault. You stay behind with him, I’ll go find my daughter and bring her back by myself."
"What? I couldn’t do that, he’ll hate you." She cried.
Julian smiled kindly, "He thinks so highly of you, you were the one who stayed when I left, he needs you more than he needs me right now. I don’t care if he hates me, as long as his heart still has the ability to love others, I’m fine with that."
Susan shook her head, "No, he deserves to know that you’re thinking about him just as much as anyone else. He deserves to know that..." she took a pause, tears welled up in her eyes before she went on to confess.
"Kayden deserves to know you left without knowing his mother was pregnant." She revealed, tears streaming down her eyes.
