Chapter 28 - A New Enemy Emerges

Vegeta's situation was honestly just... tragic.

If Goku and Piccolo hadn't powered up significantly, maybe—maybe—he'd still stand a chance.

But now? They'd already surpassed him by a wide margin.

Getting absolutely wrecked was basically a given.

"How about it, Vegeta? Still planning to convince them?"

Cado looked at him with a mix of amusement and sympathy.

There wasn't any deep grudge between them, after all.

Why not tag along to Earth? Who knows—might turn out to be a better opportunity for him.

"Nev! Er!"

Vegeta spat the words out, his jaw tight with rage.

After taking such a humiliating beating, his pride had hit rock bottom.

He'd rather die than agree to Cado's conditions.

"In that case, you're not still after the Dragon Balls, are you?"

Cado said casually. "There's a set on Earth too. They only grant one wish, but they're unclaimed—fair game. If you want 'em, go for it. If not, your loss."

At those words, Vegeta's eyes lit up.

It was as if a glimmer of hope had returned to his bleak world.

Sure, the Namekian Dragon Balls were great, but they were all held by village elders, and using them required knowledge of the Namekian language.

Plus, with Nail still alive and kicking, actually making a wish was basically a pipe dream.

"W-Well... I could go, I guess..."

Vegeta muttered, his pride clearly still bruised, but the temptation too strong to resist.

Cado grinned—he'd won this round.

"Alright then, it's settled."

He gave Vegeta a friendly slap on the back.

And just like that, under Cado's watchful eye, the group boarded the spaceship and took off—headed back to Earth.

"Finally..." Cado sighed, watching the ship disappear into the distance.

What a relief. They were finally out of his hair.

But he didn't waste any time.

He placed two fingers on his forehead and began focusing, trying to sense energy back on Earth.

Instant Transmission required a fixed energy target.

The problem? Earth was ridiculously far away, and Cado only had a rough idea of the direction.

"Got it."

After who knows how long, he finally locked onto a familiar energy signature.

With a flash, he disappeared from Namek.

Cado's presence vanished from the planet completely.

"...The hell? Where am I?"

Cado blinked at his surroundings, mouth twitching.

This... was definitely not Earth.

The planet he'd landed on was hellish—rivers of lava, violent storms, and air thick with carbon dioxide and sulfur.

It was a literal furnace.

Even with his Super Transmission bloodline keeping him alive, Cado struggled to breathe.

No time to waste—FLASH!

He Instant-Transmitted again.

"Okay, this isn't it either..."

Now he was on a gas giant covered in frost.

It was so cold the atmospheric gases had turned to icy layers.

"This is ridiculous. Can this technique not fail every time?"

Cado grumbled. This wasn't system-certified tech—definitely way too much room for error.

FLASH! FLASH! FLASH!

Attempt after attempt.

The more he used it, the better he got.

And finally...

Earth.

After so many planets, trial and error, and sheer stubbornness, Cado was back.

People nearby stared in disbelief at the man who had just appeared out of thin air.

A week had passed since he left Namek.

He'd passed through countless worlds, and his clothes were in tatters—he looked like a straight-up vagabond.

But Cado didn't care.

He headed straight for Capsule Corp.

"I'm back." he whispered, smiling to himself.

He marched up to the entrance confidently.

But before he could go in, the security guards stepped in his way.

"Shoo! No beggars allowed. Go somewhere else!"

One of them barked.

Clearly, they really thought he was a homeless guy.

Cado: "...Seriously?"

He let it slide. Can't blame them, really—he did look like trash right now.

With a sigh, he activated his Flash-Step Technique.

Instantly vanished.

The guards looked around, dumbfounded.

What the hell just happened? Where did he go?

Cado was already home.

That 0.1-second blink was all he needed to teleport across the Capsule Corp grounds.

"Darling, I missed you sooo much!"

Cado appeared right behind Bulma, wrapping his arms around her before she even noticed.

She stiffened in surprise, then turned, eyes filling with tears as she recognized him.

They embraced tightly.

Meanwhile, deep in the universe...

On a planet full of mountains and forests, peaceful and beautiful...

"What? You're telling me... Frieza was killed?"

King Cold, Frieza's father, looked thunderstruck at the report.

"Yes, King Cold."

the subordinate stammered, not even daring to breathe too loudly.

"We've confirmed it after days of investigation... Lord Frieza is really dead."

"Who did it?"

King Cold asked quietly, face cold and tense.

He knew his son had ambitions—if he hadn't kept him in check, Frieza would've tried to overthrow him by now.

Still... he was his son.

And to be killed so easily? No—this wouldn't go unavenged.

"Well, Your Majesty..." the soldier said.

"Lord Frieza was searching for something called the Dragon Balls on Namek..."

He explained everything he knew.

"So he was killed on Namek, then?"

King Cold narrowed his eyes.

"Yes, Your Majesty."

"That doesn't make sense. I know the Namekians' strength. They couldn't possibly have killed Frieza. Someone else had to be involved."

King Cold's voice was grave.

He knew Frieza's power well—and no simple Namekian could ever beat him.

"Yes, King Cold." the subordinate agreed quickly.

"Our sensors did detect a group arriving on Namek... and they left not long after Lord Frieza's death."

He pulled up footage on the giant screen behind him—showing a large spherical spaceship.

It was the same ship Cado and the others had used to reach Namek.

"Hmph..."

King Cold stared at the ship, his expression icy cold.
