Date a Witch: Reborn as the Witch of Lust! (GL)-Chapter 55: A Spar for a Request (Reason: Not Preverted)
Chapter 55: A Spar for a Request (Reason: Not Preverted)
Rosana’s sweat glistened in the sunlight, trickling beneath her crimson dress. Her gaze was wild yet carried a piercing glint, dissecting Mel’s every small gesture.
Unbothered, Mel smirked with confidence as she strode towards Rosana. "Not gonna attend any lecture?"
"Same to you." The Heiress grinned, an arrogance that softly clashed against Mel’s tease. "I’m aware of this academy’s prestige, which is why I’m willing to see how far I could accomplish without their curriculum."
Mel stopped, staring up at Rosana’s draconic red eyes. A dragon’s wild nature, perfectly tamed within two blood-red eyes of a human.
Her lips curled into a gentle smile. "Forget your vow to have first place in every subject?"
Frowning, the Heiress leaned down a little, blonde hair floating down like curtains. "Don’t worry. I never doubt my victory. Rather, I can never stand it if I do doubt myself for a second."
Then, a craze briefly crossed her red eyes. "However, I’m always open to surprises."
Mel tilted her head, ’unintentionally’ tickling her cheek against Rosana’s hair. "Seems like an exhausting lifestyle."
"It’s the opposite." The Heiress’s voice grew heavy. "It is dull and unimaginative."
And as if on cue, Rosana pulled back and respected Mel’s calm demeanor, despite her unknown intention to approach her.
She settled onto the floor, spreading her dress across her thighs. "That’s why I welcome unpredictability, like you."
Mel chuckled as she sat beside her. "Well, how honoured I am."
Rosana raised a brow, folding her leg as she rested her cheek on her palm with her elbow propped on the knee.
"Honoured because of my prestige as the only Half-Dragoness?" She provoked, smirking. "Or because of my position as the only Heiress-in-line for the Northern Dukedom?"
She half-expected Mel to mention her beauty, her accomplishments. Or perhaps just her
Mel tapped her cheek, feigning innocence. "Would you believe I didn’t think much?"
Rosana snickered. "The Third Princess gave me the same excuse."
"Poor Selaria." Mel sighed, yet her lips remained curled up. "Well, for me, you’re right. I did come here with my purpose, not that I want to lie if possible.
She then cupped her chin in the same posture as Rosana had, staring right into her smug eyes.
"It would be a lie, however, if I claimed I don’t enjoy your company."
As Rosana’s lips slightly trembled in surprise, Mel almost exhaled a hum of adoration.
Something in Rosana’s wild beauty attracted her. Perhaps the possessive indifference from the Witch of Greed aroused her competitiveness, but she won’t deny she found fondness in small victories over the Heiress.
So being carried away, she muttered. "Are you the same as well? Because I’m sincere, in how only Miss Rosana can make me feel this way."
The seductive tone weighed in Rosana’s mind as she observed Mel further.
She thought of Mel as a snake who hid her venom, but even as the Heiress was poisoned, all she could taste was sweetness instead of danger.

A strange comfort welled up in the Heiress’s chest as she spoke. "Do you think of yourself as different?"
Mel shook her head. "The opposite. I think of myself the same as any other."
The Witch of Lust may plan to seduce, but not lie about her feelings to Rosana.
With memories drifting back to her old World, she smiled with nostalgia. "I admired your confidence. I admired your selfishness. I admired how you made an effort to prove yourself."
After all, she spent her salary on ’pulling for Rosana’ for a reason. She may have regretted her impulsive spending, but never pour it on the Heiress herself!
Then, words slipped out of Mel’s lips. "Though I won’t deny I’m mostly liking your look. If nothing else, I’m not blessed with a sweaty blonde beauty as eye candy every day."
Rosana blinked, her lips slightly ajar for Mel’s boldness.
An intrusive thought settled inside her as she swept her drippy hairlock behind her ear. "Better?"
Mel gulped as the exposed neck, beads clinging to the skin as if to beckon for a taste. "Much better."
The Heiress stifled a laugh. "Quite a simple person, you are."
Mel’s lips puffed into a playful pout. "So what? Are you calling it a sin to be attracted to beauty?"
Rosana mused a little. Beauty, is it?
The simple concept of ’admiration’ dangled on the Heiress’s mind.
And before she knew it, her hand stretched itself to cup Mel’s chin, ’admiring’ the puffy, milky skin that would surely taste better than any gourmet she indulged on.
Her breath hitched as her gaze locked with Mel’s. The divinely golden eyes sparkled with a particular, hopeful wonder.
"I was wrong." The Heiress muttered. "It would seem I’m also a simple person myself."
Self-acceptance eased the Heiress’s mind. She was always one to admit wrong when prompted quickly.

"Thanks." Mel let out a bubbly giggle. Like Lila’s praise, the Heiress’s confession of beauty brought her a joyful warmth.
With a hint of regret, she slipped free from her grasp before standing up with a faint blush.
She brushed the dust off her school skirt. "You said you welcome surprises?"
The Heiress nodded. "I did."
She stared at her fingers, her skin lingering, and she needed to touch Mel again.
Unaware of the Heiress’s perverted compulsion, Mel challenged Rosana. "Then, want a spar to pass the time? Break up the dull routine like you said?"
The Heiress raised a brow, eying Mel’s glossy, fragile lips.
A memory from a certain blue bum peeked from the edge of her mind, before she smirked. "I fully accept from someone who once defeated me. Yet, it’d be too boring if it’s a mere spar."
She then raised a finger. "One request. You will fulfill my one request upon defeat. The same goes for you."
She licked her lips, wondering how the little blue bunny would feel if she repaid her humiliation in full.
Mel glossed over the Heiress’s suggestion, yet her observant gaze caught the mischievous gleam in Rosana’s smile.
Thanks for the assist, Lila. Mel only felt gratefulness in her heart as she exclaimed. "Of course!"
She already knew how to take full advantage of Rosana’s generosity.
