Chapter 54: Lecture Time is the best for ’Private’ Time!

Mel glanced over the messy student council room, and the six <Ka-broom> sweeping off the dust, coffee stains and leftover lunchboxes.

The brooms’ wooden rods swung in agitation as they cleaned the room. Master’s promise of chaos and destruction was yet to be delivered, so how dare she ’relegate’ them as if they were mere ’brooms’?!

Flashing an apologetic smile to her summons, Mel picked up the documents on the ground, recalling her internship in her original world as she sorted them out.

A few more documents neatly placed, a few more floors swept with rustling sweeps, and Mel’s ears picked up on someone shuffling at the sofa.

"Oh." She chuckled as she turned, placing the last stack of papers on the desk. "How’s the sleep, Miss Liora?"

The Student Council President’s eyes blinked awake, her elf ears twitching at the intruder’s tender voice.

She yawned as she dragged herself up, the sleezy blanket sliding to the floor as her auburn hair fluttered down to cover her misty grey eyes.

A murmur, graceful yet restrained with exhaustion, escaped her lips. "You’re earlier than I expected."

Mel chuckled. "Not going to thank me first?"

The elf glanced around. Her messy working space, now occupied by magically flying brooms instead of her coworkers, was spotlessly glimmering as if their ’horror’ of last night was nothing but a lie.

She sighed, eying Mel far away, who was leaning at the front desk. "Forgive my manners, but it’s hard to pay gratitude for an expected visitor, let alone an uninvited one."

Mel’s eyes curved as she made her way to a sofa. "Of course. I shall respect the president’s habit of preparing for visits with her <Prophecy> next time."

The elf frowned, turning to Mel, who settled herself into the cushions as if she owned the room. "You hardly need to."

For the life of a <Prophet>, very few things could be a surprise. Even with occasional inaccuracies, she has long expected Mel’s visit and her intention.

Perhaps fortunately, however...

Liora’s mind drifted, her grey eyes scanning the cleaned office. "Though, I suppose I still glossed over a detail or two."

The Witch of Lust hummed calmly, in contrast to how the other <Ka-broom> shook their wooden rods to hide their embarrassement. "No issue. It is Lila and I who are in your debt."

Raising a brow, Liora’s shoulder hunched further as she squinted.

Her gratitude for the pink-haired visitor was not a lie, but being teased for something she and her colleague worked hard at stirred a conflicted feeling within her.

She stared at the stacks of papers between them, now tidied and stacked like towers instead of scattering loosely.

With an urge unbefitting her laziness, she picked up one of them. "It’s my responsibility in the student council. Don’t ever mind it."

Mel’s eyes caught the hesitant gleam in the elf’s weary expression. "And it’s my wish to thank you directly. For handling my ’Pink Demon’ rumours before I was even harmed."

The elf shrugged, lazily glossing over the document. "It shouldn’t be me whom you should thank."

Then, a sudden sparkle of pride flashed across her eyes as she stared at Mel. "Rather, you should praise the Teacher Head for generously lending a hand in this matter, Mel Sakura."

Holding back a chuckle, Mel pressed a finger to her lips to hide her smile. "Perhaps so. Though I would have thought his ’Audio Leak Accident’ wasn’t unprompted?"

As Samantha mentioned how the Teacher Head made a blunder, Mel immediately correlated the ’Audio Leak’ incident with the bald Teacher.

After inquiring more from the System, it seems Liora has made a secret deal with Colin behind the school’s back.

Confirming nothing was amiss, Liora plopped the paper aside. "The Incidents just happened to align. Don’t think too much of it."

She closed her eyes, stating with steady yet tired breaths.

"Colin needed a reason for a proper... retirement against the Church’s orders. The Student Council was looking for a way to resolve your ridiculous ’Pink Demon’ accusation, much to the urgent requests stated by the naive Principal."

Even when half-asleep, a tiny frustration swirled in Liora’s mind. She was almost tempted to pretend ’sick leave’ immediately.

She continued, masking the pettiness in her voice.

"So, Colin the Teacher Head just ’happened to leak the audio right as the students came to inquire more about the incident, ’ and the ’rumours of your playful dating just happened to spread at the perfect time’."

Sneaky. A tease almost came out of Mel, for the classic strategy of covering a rumour with another rumour.

The Student Council President, who worked overnight with her colleagues yesterday to resolve the ’Mel’ Issue, waved her hands. "Any more questions? Can you leave now so I can sleep a little more?"

Mel held her chin, smiling with a hint of playful guilt. "Seems you hate me a little bit, Miss President."

Liora let out a hushed groan. "I never take things personally, and I dislike everyone in a higher position who only leaves all the chores for those below them."

Her grey eyes partially opened for a moment, revealing a slight grudge. "It’s fortunate you and that girl looked pleasing to the eyes. Otherwise, the rumour would sound less believable and my colleagues wouldn’t catch a wink in their dormitory right now."

Mel tilted her head innocently. "In other words?"

"In other words..." The Elf’s grey eyes closed once more. "I don’t dislike you, but rather it’s that Principal who made the burdensome command I can’t stand. Feel free to unburden yourself."

The Witch of Lust grinned. "I’m very pleased that I looked mildly acceptable to you."

Liora nodded. "Anything else?"

"Nothing much." A mischievous smile curled from Mel’s lips as she stood, her light steps striding towards Liora without a sound.

She then dug into the empty air and pulled out a comfy-looking blanket, adorned with soft sheep-like wools.

Mel then draped it over the Elf’s shoulders, her fingers pulling the fabric tightly around Liora’s neck tenderly.

Her golden eyes never left Liora’s closed eyes. She knew the elf expected this gesture, just like she had expected Mel’s visit.

Though she smirked, observing the slight twitch in the elf’s brow. Prophesying an event is different from directly experiencing it after all.

The Witch of Lust leaned in further, her hot breaths smearing over the Elf’s ear. "Take this as my token of gratitude, Miss Liora."

She admired how her ear perked up slightly, as if tickled.

And unlike Lila’s, a faint blush spread across the elf’s cheek, an intimacy too sensual for her otherwise numbed skin.

Mel’s cheeks heated up. One day, she will wait till the elf sets aside her ’mask’ and lends her ear to be bitten.

Admiring how Liora shuddered as she pulled back, Mel then moved towards the panel doors. "Well then, I’ll bring the pillows next time."

After all, services and products must always come in sets to further customer retention.

Mel mused inwardly and left the room with a click.

At that moment, she was completely unaware of how the elf’s figure relaxed, her breaths quivering with a shy yet welcome warmth.

Leaning back into the cushion, her cheeks squished against its softness. For a moment, she almost defied her own prophecy by wanting to ask Mel for a thigh pillow.

How silly, to fellow kindred. She mocked herself as she drifted off, this time with more peace than usual.

---------------------

As Mel stepped out of the building, fully intent on ditching classes for the time being, she received a surprise notification from the System.

[ You have reeled back Sloth’s deep-hidden desire for Intimacy! Well done, Host! ]

[ Sloth Favourability: 0 -> 4 ]

Mel walked down the white-stoned pavement, clutching the railings loosely as she giggled. "First step is always the hardest. I’m glad it’s easier than I expected for Liora to open up."

[ Of course! <Prophecy> Magic was like reading events from an open book, but feeling the events themselves was entirely different! ]

Mel’s brow raised with amusement. "So, does that mean you know you’ll kiss me that intensely back then?"

The panel flickered.

[ Absolutely. Just like how in the near future, I don’t know how aroused I’ll be... when you will hike up your skirt to expose yourself before me. But I’m looking forward to it, Mel. ]

"Ugh-hey...!" Mel’s cheeks flushed. "Don’t just say stuff like that out of nowhere. It’s embarrassing!"

The Witch of Lust argued with the Saintess, unashamed of her intent to bed every witch she encountered.

After a few more banters with the System, she returned to the Dormitory again.

Climbing a few stairs led her to the first floor, where a training ground stretched across from her.

Sunlight poured through the tall windows over the oaken floor. At the center, a lone blonde figure swung her battleaxe with focused precision, in practice for her next fight.

Should I say...I’m not surprised?

Mel’s lips curled to a foxy smile. She knew the Witch of Greed was as possesively selfish as she was predictable, barely allowing anyone to invade her precious ’time’ and ’space’.

And the one time when she had the training hall to herself? Naturally, it is when everyone was off attending their year’s lectures.

"You’ve been diligent."

A final swing. A final focus, dimming beneath a soft murmur she thought she’d been used to.

Chuckling, Rosana’s waist straightened as she cast a sideways glance at the unwelcome guest.

This time, her red eyes flickered with a spark of intrigue.

"Just a routine that I’m selfishly following."

She tossed aside the axe which vanished into smoke. Another of her creations, discarded carelessly like a toy before her prey.
