Chapter 127: Chapter 126: How is that Possible?!!! (2)

Li Juanxin carried the materials back to his station. He placed the black iron ore shards and blue meridian iron into two small melting crucibles.

He took it to the furnace basin and encountered a small problem. The small furnace wasn’t so small for the little Juanxin. He tried several times but couldn’t reach the furnace opening.

The furnace basin was like a mountain range towering over him.

"Why does everything have to be so tall?" He muttered under his breath, glancing around. He spotted He Zhihao who wasn’t far from him and his eyes lit up.

"Brother He."

He Zhihao turned at the sound of his name, a bewildered expression spreading across his face: "What is it, little Juanxin?" He asked, chuckling softly as he noticed the predicament.

Li Juanxin didn’t mind being laughed at. He pointed at the furnace: "I can’t reach it, can you help me?"

"You’re melting both?" He Zhihao was surprised when he saw Li Juanxin has two metallic materials.

For metallic materials to be used as part of an ink, they had to be melted. But the melting process is difficult as one has to keep an eye on the temperature and texture to avoid ruining the mixture.

"Yeah, I need them separately for the formula. Please, just me a bit!" Li Juanxin replied earnestly.

He Zhihao lifted him up effortlessly, rising just high enough for him to reach the furnace opening.

"How long would they need to melt?" He Zhihao asked, steadying Li Juanxin as he carefully poured the shards into the furnace.

Li Juanxin replied: "The Black iron ore will be ready in ten minutes, while the Blue Meridian Iron would need thirty minutes."

He adjusted the flame and signal for He Zhihao to put him down.

"Half an hour for a mixture to be ready, are you sure you’re going to finish in time?" He Zhihao asked worriedly

Li Juanxin shook his head: "It shouldn’t be a problem. I just need to keep watch over the temperature. It’s all about timing. Also the method I’m using is very fast."

He Zhihao raised an eyebrow, impressed by Li Juanxin’s confidence: "Alright then, I’ll keep an eye on you."

"Thanks."

He Zhihao went back to his station and resumed his work.

While waiting for the metallic mixtures, Li Juanxin began preparing the other materials. He Ground the Ink Root Powder with the Crystal Spirit Salt, forming a pale mixture

Meanwhile, other students were using direct engraving methods carving the inscription into the blade before filling it with ink.

"Brother He?"

Hearing Li Juanxin’s voice, He Zhihao realized that the mixture was ready so he helped him take it out. The molten black iron is actually silver.

"Thank you."

"No problem."

Many people saw Li Juanxin take a black spirit iron ore and a meridian iron, and were keeping a close eye on his performance. After all, these two materials really don’t work well together.

Li Juanxin did something that shocked them, he didn’t mix any other ingredients in the molten black iron. Instead, he poured it onto the sheet of paper.

He picks the brush and spreads it evenly on the sheet of paper. The silver molten spread across the surface without damaging the paper.

One by one, gasps emerged from the gathered students as they watched.

"What is he doing?"

"Why is he wasting metal on paper?"

"Maybe he really doesn’t know what to do. After all, he’s so young."

They whispered their doubts, agreeing with one another.

As the metal cooled, the surface hardened instantly, forming a metallic layer on the paper. The sheet became stiff like a flexible metal plate.

"Metal inscription base template?!" Instructor Jin’s eyes widened slightly.

This is the blacksmith line of work. He didn’t expect it to be so simple to make! Instructor Jin could hardly suppress his excitement.

Li Juanxin followed the same process and made two more metal plates. He planned to engrave on all three swords and hand in the best one.

"Hey, Cheng. You brother seems to be doing pretty good. You don’t have to worry about him anymore." A boy standing next to Li Cheng said with a smirk.

Li Cheng’s eyes narrowed: "I wasn’t worried about him. As long as he followed what Father taught him, he would win this competition easily."

"Are you that confident?"

Li Cheng shrugged: "Just watch."

The Blue Meridian Iron molten was ready. Li Juanxin directly adds ingredients to it. He stirred it as he slowly added the mixture of the Ink Root Powder, Crystalized Spirit Salt and Moonlight Resin.

The molten metal slowly darkens. Then it transformed into a thick deep blue Inscription ink.

After he was done, he dipped his brush into the prepared ink. Then he began drawing on the metal plate.

Li Juanxin was lucky that the previous inscriptions he made were all about combat because he wanted to be strong. So there were many combat inscriptions that he could recall effortlessly.

After giving it a thought, he decided to go with three; Swiftwind, Mountain Strength, and Spirit Edge. Even though he wasn’t sure of the results, he was sure that it wouldn’t be worse than what the others were making.

His hand moved slowly and steadily. Each stroke of the brush flowed smoothly. The inscription pattern formed piece by piece.

"He is drawing the inscription on the paper first before engraving it? Isn’t that a waste of time? There’s only twenty minutes left." Instructor Ye said worriedly

Instructor Jin shook his head: "He doesn’t seem to be in a rush so he might know what he’s doing.

But just in case they weren’t keeping watch of the time, he shouted: "Twenty minutes remains!"

Some of the students immediately panicked, speeding up their work.

The Swiftwind inscription increases attack and movement speed of the wielder. When activated, the blade becomes lighter.

The Mountain Strength inscription on the other hand greatly increases the sword’s striking force and weight of impact, it was more on the endurance side.

While the Spirit Edge inscription enhances the sharpness and spiritual absorption, allowing it to absorb energy from other objects it comes into contact with.

Li Juanxin’s drawing was astonishing. He actually draws three inscription patterns on three plates in ten minutes. Now everyone was anxiously waiting to see how he was going to get the engraved sword in ten minutes.

But Li Juanxin of course did what they didn’t expect. He lined the swords on the table. Then he lifted one the plate he already drew on, placed it flat against the sword blade.

He channels his spiritual energy into his palm and fingertips, and performs multiple hand seals.

His fingers move quickly, one seal after another. The spiritual flow from the inscription paper into the blade. As the metallic lines dissolve from the paper surface, it appears on the blade.

The energy intertwined with the iron, within moments, the paper returned to normal and the blade had the engraved patterns on it.

"Can inscriptions really be transferred and engraved onto objects?"

"I don’t think so. Unless you directly engraved it, it won’t work just simply transferring it."

"But he seems to have succeeded!"

The murmurs of disbelief rippled through the crowd like shockwaves.

Instructor Ye’s jaw dropped in astonishment: "That’s not supposed to be possible!" He exclaimed, glancing at instructor Jin for confirmation.

Instructor Jin too was astonished, caught between admiration and disbelief.

"It’s not supposed to be possible? Are you an Inscription Master?" Instructor Hao Ming asked with a frown.

"No, but I’ve taken classes when I was younger."

"Oh yeah? What’s your level?" Instructor Hao pressed on

"Don’t mention it." Instructor Ye didn’t know what instructor Hao was getting irritated about.

Instructor Jin said instructor Hao are both at the same level of Inscription yet, everyone looks up to Jin and regard him higher than him, which sometimes irritates him.

"Look over there. He Zhihao has successfully upgraded the sword into a low grade spirit sword level 2."

"As expected from a second level Inscription Master."

Everyone looks over in admiration. Apart from He Zhihao, two other level two Inscription Masters also upgraded their swords to level two.

The only way to determine the winner is to test them in combat later.

Li Juanxin wasn’t satisfied with his first finish product. Because he had made a few mistakes in the hand seal. And although the inscription was successfully engraved, the sword level didn’t increase.

If he wanted a shot at winning, he had to try harder. With six minutes remaining, he switched to the next sword and did the hand seals again much more carefully.

As soon as he was done with the last seal, a brilliant light burst forth from the blade.

"Look over there at station nine."

Someone shouted and everyone looked over. They were distracted by the level two Inscription Masters and forgot to keep an eye on Li Juanxin.

The glow emanating from the second blade becomes more intense.

Because of the perfect balance between speed, power, and spiritual energy, the formation resonance upgraded the sword and it underwent breakthrough repeatedly.

An ordinary low grade sword with no attributes actually advanced to level four spirit sword, from the inscription of level one Inscription master?!

How is that possible!!!

This kind of leap is normally achieved by a master level Inscriptionist, which would be level five!

"Could it be because of the Inscriptions techniques? maybe he engraved level 2 inscriptions."

"A level one cannot engrave level 2 inscriptions. Inscription is very difficult from Talisman!"

There has to be something wrong. Otherwise, this is just impossible!

Several teachers hurry to station nine to take a closer look.
