Chapter 249: Chapter 249: Mia’s Sleepless Night After Moving Back to the Guest Room

The next day, when Mia Sutton opened her eyes, she stared blankly at the ceiling and blinked twice. She had come to a clear understanding of her sleeping habits recently, and now she had become so used to them that she was reaching a state of numbness.

She moved her arm away and got out of bed to wash up. When she came out, she saw that Jensen Sterling was already awake, leaning against the side of the bed. She greeted him, "Good morning, Mr. Sterling."

Jensen Sterling replied, "Morning." Probably because he had just woken up, his voice was a bit husky and deep. Every time Mia heard that voice, she couldn’t help but marvel at his baritone internally.

Breakfast was made by Mia. Since she got up early today and was in the mood, she didn’t let the housekeeper come.

The two of them quietly finished breakfast, and it was Jensen who washed the dishes and utensils.

Then, they each went about their own business until it was almost noon.

Mia walked off the sofa and, in her slippers, went to the study, "Mr. Sterling, it’s noon. What do you want to eat? I’ll order us some takeout."

Jensen Sterling’s eyes shifted from the computer screen.

"Hmm, order whatever you feel like. I’m fine with anything."

After hearing this, Mia quickly picked up her phone and ordered two servings of snail noodles and some milk tea. Before confirming the order, her finger hesitated for a moment, and she glanced at Jensen Sterling.

Snail noodles... he probably won’t like it, right?

Mia ultimately decided not to take the risk and canceled his portion of the snail noodles, opting for a bowl of wontons instead.

"I’ve finished ordering."

Then, holding her phone, she stood there, hesitated for a moment, and asked:

"Mr. Sterling, weren’t you saying you were going to move back? Should I contact people to help move things now?"

Jensen Sterling’s hand holding the mouse tensed slightly, and he replied in a deep voice, "No need, I’ve already called someone. They’ll be here soon."

Mia said, "Oh, okay."

Sure enough, before long, the doorbell rang. Mia hurried to open the door, and several people were standing outside.

"Hello, is this Ms. Sutton’s residence?"

Mia nodded and opened the door wide, "Yes, it is. You’re here to help move things, right? Please come in."

The group affirmed and then entered.

These people were probably arranged by Cameron Grant, and they had been briefed beforehand, so they went about their work quietly and diligently, without looking around or asking questions.

Jensen Sterling was already sitting in the living room at some point, and Mia asked, "Mr. Sterling, aren’t you going to take a look at the moving?"

Jensen Sterling lifted his gaze, looking at her indifferently, and said, "No need, just watch over it."

Mia acknowledged and then led the team into the master bedroom.

Mia stood at the entrance of the master bedroom, looking at the items inside with a bit of confusion.

She usually didn’t pay much attention, but now she realized her belongings had somehow occupied every corner of this bedroom.

Various clothes hanging on the rack, different skincare products on the table, a range of her plush toys scattered throughout the room, and many other things.

Mia stared at the scene for quite some time until someone behind her asked, "Ms. Sutton, should we start moving now?"

Mia stepped aside from the doorway, smiled, and said, "Yes, move them."

"These, these, these... and these, move them to the side, please. Thank you."

Mia directed as she pointed at the items in the room.

The team was efficient. For every item Mia mentioned, they moved it, working methodically.

Sitting on one side of the sofa, a person with long legs crossed, leaning against the sofa, fingers intertwined over their lap, looked indifferently towards the direction of the bedroom.

People were moving in and out, occasionally catching Mia’s voice, likely discussing what items needed moving and where they should be placed after being moved into the guest bedroom.

All the sounds swirled in his ears, but Jensen Sterling’s gaze remained indifferent.

After two or three hours, the varying, scattered items were finally moved, also neatly placed in the guest bedroom.

After completing the move, the group quickly left.

Jensen Sterling got up and walked over. Just as Mia was standing there, looking at the master bedroom, she heard a soft voice, "Is it all moved?"

Mia was slightly taken aback, then turned and replied calmly, "Yes, it’s all moved."

After responding, she looked again at the master bedroom, wondering if it was because she had lived there for a long time and subconsciously became familiar with it.

It now suddenly looked different, and she found it a bit unsettling, with a strange feeling inside.

Clearly, it just returned to its original state.

Almost everything in the room was moved, except for a few plush toys and a pillow.

Mia walked in, picked up those pillows -- some big, some small, which covered her face once picked up.

Just when Mia was about to lift the plush of Chuhe Han Street, which had been on the bed for a long time, by its ear, Jensen Sterling, standing by the door, spoke softly.

"Mia..."

Mia paused, turned around, and looked at him, "Hmm? What is it, Mr. Sterling?"

Jensen Sterling stepped in, gazed at the plush toy in her hand, and said softly, "Let’s leave this one here." 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

There was a hint of doubt in Mia’s eyes: "...?"

She glanced at the long plush toy. It wasn’t particularly good-looking, certainly not as attractive as she was. Why leave it?

But despite thinking this, since Jensen Sterling had spoken, Mia naturally wouldn’t refuse. It was just a pillow, after all. Even though it had been with her for a long time, since Mr. Sterling wanted it, she could part with it.

And so the pillow, which spent every day on the floor by the bed, remained.

At night.

Mia sat alone on the bed, with a script on her lap, unable to flip even a page for a long time. She looked up at the bedroom, feeling inexplicably irritated, as if something wasn’t quite right.

Even though she’d only been living elsewhere for just over half a month, upon returning, she felt unaccustomed.

Habit is indeed a terrifying thing.

Unable to concentrate on the script, Mia decided to go straight to sleep instead.

The lights in the room were dimmed, and the person in bed tossed and turned several times before finally throwing off the blanket, sitting up, and angrily turning on the light, exclaiming, "Damn it!"

An exquisite face full of annoyance, Mia sat there, calming down for a while, and slapped her face slightly.

"Could it be because Mr. Sterling took away that big pillow, so I can’t sleep?"

After a moment, she lowered her eyes, sighed, and said, "I can’t ask for it back now."

Ultimately, Mia got out of bed, rummaged through the closet, and found another pillow, not as large, but still adequate, to hug as she got back into bed.

Then she pulled the blanket over herself, hugging the plushie, and nestling her head against it. After a while, she finally fell into a deep sleep.
