Contract Marriage: Let's Make It Real, Mrs. Sterling!-Chapter 250: Mr. Xi Acts Along
The next morning.
Mia Sutton slept late due to insomnia yesterday, so she got up late too. After getting up, she saw Jensen Sterling sitting by the dining table, with breakfast laid out on the table.
Seeing Mia wake up, Jensen said softly, "You’re awake? Come and have something to eat."
Mia yawned as she walked over, sat down on the chair, took a sip of soy milk, and then looked up.
She stared for a moment, then blurted out, "Mr. Sterling, did you not sleep well last night?"
Because visibly, there were faint dark circles under Jensen Sterling’s eyes.
Jensen paused for a moment: "Yeah, I had insomnia."
It wasn’t just insomnia, it was an all-nighter.
Mia Sutton wasn’t the only one who wasn’t used to it; Jensen Sterling was the least accustomed. The usual little girl who liked to hug his arm while sleeping was gone.
The bed was as large as ever, but now it felt very empty, the house felt hollow, as if many things were suddenly missing, and nothing felt right.
Mia Sutton: "..." Coincidentally, she also had insomnia.
The two of them automatically skipped over this topic because the audition was tomorrow. Mia did not look at the script today since she could already recite it backward by now.
She read it over and over again only to better understand the character.
In the room, Jensen Sterling looked through Mia Sutton’s script and glanced at the densely marked notes.
Seeing Jensen with her script, Mia hesitated for a moment, then leaned over, "Mr. Sterling, the audition is tomorrow. Can you do a scene with me?"
Jensen put down the script, raised his eyes, and smiled lightly, "Sure, which part?"
Mia picked up the script, flipped to the middle, and pointed to a segment.
"This one. This is where the character’s personality changes the most. I want to try it."
Jensen glanced at it: "Alright, let’s go."
The fantasy script, like many others, told the story of the realms and the world.
The role Mia chose was that of a Celestial Maiden, but she was raised by the ancient Demon Lord in her childhood.
In fact, she’s a hybrid of God and Demon, the first of its kind in millennia.
Later, when it was known she belonged to the Celestial Realm, it sparked a huge debate among the demons, who believed someone from the Celestial Realm should not be in the Spirit Realm, nor should she return to the Celestial Realm and become a Goddess.
This takes us back to the overall script.
In the Divine Realm and the Spirit Realm, the two forces were balanced. Of course, there was also the Spirit Realm and others. For thousands of years, they all performed their duties and coexisted peacefully.
There was never absolute good, nor absolute evil. A person’s heart is very complex. What they think, only they know.
For this reason, at some point, a group of people emerged in the Celestial and Spirit Realms, wanting to provoke war and disrupt the order, aiming to rule the Three Realms.
This group was influenced by the Chaotic Power, their inherent malice amplified infinitely. The greater the evil in their hearts, the more they were affected by the Chaotic Power.
Eventually, they incited a war between the Celestial and Spirit Realms, leading to widespread devastation until the ancient Demon Lord used up his powers to end the war.
But after he quelled the war, he disappeared. This was just the beginning of the story.
The main part of this show is about the recurrence of this event, another invasion by the Chaotic Power.
Because the Chaotic Power was only sealed last time and not entirely eliminated, it once again wreaked havoc on the Three Realms, and the ancient Demon Lord and Divine Lord had vanished.
The protagonists went through great hardships to truly eradicate the Chaotic Power.
Eventually, they discovered that only the offspring of Gods and Demons could eliminate the Chaotic Power.
And there was only one half-blood of Gods and Demons in the world, which was Stacy Shields, who grew up in the Spirit Realm and later transformed into the ice-cold, beautiful Goddess.
She lived long in the Divine Palace, rarely seen by others, but everyone had heard of her, yet only a few had ever met her.
Upon learning this, people from both the Divine and Spirit Realms didn’t know what to do. They wanted to persuade her for the sake of the Three Realms, but it required her sacrifice.
If she didn’t sacrifice herself, the Three Realms would slowly be destroyed, so almost everyone knelt and begged her for the sake of the realms.
No one knew how long they knelt, but eventually, Stacy emerged from her Divine Palace. Her cold face, devoid of emotion, swept over the crowd, causing them to shiver—not because of anything else, but because of the ancient Demon Lord’s millennial cultivation passed on to her when he disappeared.
Stacy looked at the people below without any expression, ultimately sacrificing herself, her soul dissipating, never to reincarnate.
This was the full story of the character Stacy. Although her scenes weren’t many, she was a crucial link, without which the Chaotic Power could not be completely eradicated.
Thus, even with limited screen time, the role was significant, and the director had high expectations. The director agreed to give Mia Sutton a chance to audition partly due to Jensen Sterling’s recommendation and partly because of Mia’s appearance. Stacy was the most beautiful woman in the Three Realms, whether as the lively and mischievous witch or the cold-as-ice Goddess. They were all the most beautiful.
Mia Sutton’s beauty was unparalleled, and she demonstrated exceptional versatility on stage.
That was why the director was willing to give her the opportunity.
...
The scene Mia wanted Jensen to perform with her was at the beginning when the ancient Demon Lord sealed the Chaotic Power and disappeared before her eyes.
One should know Stacy was raised by the ancient Demon Lord, and faced with such a scene, the emotions had to be pushed to the extreme.
Mia had never systematically learned acting, and it took her a while to get into character, but she had her little techniques in performing, having not walked this path for nothing, having not lived what she did for nothing. Without some acting skills, it wouldn’t work.
Therefore, when she opened her eyes again, tears instantly welled up in Mia’s eyes, her gaze was filled with tears, but she ultimately didn’t dare let them fall, as she feared worrying the person in front of her, the pain in her eyes so deep, so heavy.
The person before her had been with her for thousands of years, had cared for her for thousands of years, and now was about to disappear. How terrified her heart must be.
Jensen played his role in the scene. It was rare for him not to fully embody the character, part of him was the character, and part of him watched the young girl’s performance.
Internally, he was shocked, and at that moment, he was almost jealous of a fictional character for bringing such tears to the young girl.
But even with such thoughts, he delivered his lines and expressions flawlessly, a professional actor through and through.
