Contract Marriage: Abusive Love with Mr.CEO-Chapter 513 - 269: Overwhelmed with Jealousy (Part 3)
Knowing that her health could not recover, Rebecca Quentin jokingly said to Chester Robinson, "Well, if I get better, don’t forget to chase me..."
Chester burst into hearty laughter.
The topic of Rebecca Quentin’s health was originally heavy, but due to her ease and Chester’s teasing, it became lighter, making the atmosphere lively.
They didn’t know that their laughter reached the ears of the two people on the right.
Since all four knew each other, after playing tennis, they gathered to greet one another.
Howard Geoffrey left first because he had something to do, but Alice Robinson did not leave with him. Instead, she clung to Chester’s arm and suggested, "Brother, I haven’t had dinner with you for a long time, why don’t we have dinner together tonight?"
Chester chuckled, "Did he ditch you?"
Alice pouted, "No, he has an engagement tonight and had to leave... I was going to leave with him, but since I haven’t seen you in so long, I wanted to ask you to have a meal with me."
Chester ruffled Alice’s hair, "Okay... but it will be three of us."
Alice shook Chester’s arm reluctantly, "But I want to have dinner alone with you, just the two of us!!"
"Alice, I..."
Before Chester could finish, Alice interrupted, "Brother, you don’t care about me anymore. You used to agree to whatever I asked."
Seeing Chester in a dilemma, Rebecca Quentin tactfully said, "Doctor Robinson, don’t count me in, I have a dinner appointment with my manager tonight."
Alice quickly replied, "See, she already has plans, let’s go!"
Chester frowned, "But I still need to send her home first."
Alice pouted, still with dissatisfaction.
Rebecca Quentin spoke again, "Doctor Robinson, you don’t need to send me, I can take a taxi back to the hotel by myself, you go have dinner with Miss Robinson!"
Chester insisted, "No, it’s hard to get a taxi here."
"But I’m really hungry, brother..."
Chester glared at Alice, "Are you being unreasonable now?"
To prevent the atmosphere from becoming more awkward, Rebecca Quentin quickly said, "It’s okay, Doctor Robinson, I got the taxi driver’s number when I came, so I can get a ride."
Alice lamented, "Brother, she already said that..."
Chester’s expression turned more serious, "I hope you can change your spoiled attitude, especially now that you’re with Howard, no man likes a woman who picks fights."
Alice widened her eyes in disbelief, "Picking fights? Just because I want to have dinner alone with you, you say something so harsh to me?"
"You should know what I’m referring to!"
Alice shook her head, confused.
Chester coldly replied, "The magazine incident, you should apologize to Becca."
Alice instantly seethed, "Why should I apologize to her?"
Chester harshly replied, "Because you maliciously damaged someone’s reputation."
In that moment, Alice’s angry gaze turned to Rebecca Quentin, "Did I slander you? If it weren’t for you, Howard and I would be married by now!"
Facing Alice’s questioning, Rebecca Quentin’s eyes remained calm, she didn’t respond, as she didn’t want to argue.
Chester angrily said to Alice, "Enough, right or wrong, everyone knows in their heart... you must apologize to Becca!"
Alice seemed unaccustomed to Chester speaking so sternly, a sense of grievance welled up, her eyes immediately turned red, tears welling up, as she glared at Chester.
"Apologize!"
Hearing Chester’s cold voice again, Alice angrily pushed him away, storming off the court...
Unexpectedly, things had escalated so severely. Seeing Alice running off, Rebecca Quentin quickly said, "Go after her!"
Chester stood his ground, "If you do something wrong, you naturally have to take responsibility."
"Forget it, everything’s in the past now... just go after her, it’s late, she might get into trouble."
Chester sighed, looking in the direction Alice had disappeared.
Rebecca Quentin nudged Chester, "Go on... I can get back myself."
"Be careful on the way, call me when you get to the hotel."
"Okay."
Having said that, Chester ran after Alice.
Leaving the golf course, Rebecca Quentin now waited by the roadside.
Unexpectedly, by the time she had changed her clothes and come out, it was already dark, and it was dinner time, not to mention taxis, even private cars were scarce.
In fact, Rebecca Quentin didn’t have any taxi driver’s number, she just wanted to find an excuse to ease the tension between the Robinson siblings earlier.
What should she do now?
It was indeed difficult to get a taxi here.
With a troubled sigh, Rebecca Quentin was about to take out her phone to check online for any New York taxi company numbers, when a luxurious black car pulled into her view.
The familiar Bentley logo on the wheel hub made Rebecca Quentin, who was looking down at her phone, abruptly lift her gaze.
The window rolled down, revealing the expected handsome profile.
Howard Geoffrey’s gaze was on the road ahead, but his cold voice was directed at her, "Get in."
Rebecca Quentin didn’t think he was talking to her, so she didn’t respond.
Howard’s chiseled face suddenly turned to her, lips pressing out words with barely suppressed anger, "Didn’t you hear me say get in?"
Rebecca Quentin looked at Howard calmly, truthfully saying, "Sorry, I didn’t know you were talking to me."
Howard’s handsome face twitched with restrained anger, and he repeated, "Get in!"
This time, his tone was clearly commanding.
Rebecca Quentin frowned slightly, looking at him with confusion.
Howard had already opened the car door, stepping out, and directly pulled her into the car.
"Hey..."
Before Rebecca Quentin could react, she was already shoved into the car, her wrist aching from his force.
Howard fastened her seat belt himself and then started the engine, driving off swiftly.
In the car, Rebecca Quentin rubbed her sore wrist, frowning with displeasure, "What are you doing?"
Howard didn’t answer.
Rebecca turned to look at Howard’s aloof profile, puzzled.
What was up with him?
Didn’t Alice say he had an engagement?
