Contract Marriage: Abusive Love with Mr.CEO-Chapter 512 - 269: Overwhelmed by Jealousy 3
Howard Geoffrey’s gaze still lingered on Rebecca Quentin, a faint voice slipped from his thin lips, "Here for a vacation in New York?"
Rebecca Quentin did not respond.
Howard Geoffrey seemed not to care whether Rebecca Quentin responded or not, his eyes already drifted away from her, and looked up at Chester Robinson, "The last time in France, during dinner with your father, he said you haven’t been back to France for a long time... Doctor Robinson, if you have time, you should make time to go home and see the old man!"
The words spoken by Howard Geoffrey entered Rebecca Quentin’s ears, causing quite a stir in her heart. How dare he mention others when he hasn’t been back for so long himself?
Chester Robinson elegantly smiled, "With my sister and future brother-in-law taking care of my father, I have nothing to worry about."
Alice Robinson has no intention of acknowledging Rebecca Quentin, gently suggested to Howard Geoffrey beside her, "Shall we go play tennis too?"
"Sure."
After Howard Geoffrey’s gaze moved away from Rebecca Quentin, he didn’t look back at her again; he was already heading with Alice Robinson to the other side of the court to play tennis.
Chester’s warm voice suddenly came from above Rebecca Quentin’s head, "Are you okay?"
Rebecca Quentin shrugged, smiling, "Does this count as a narrow escape with an enemy?"
The time continued with Chester teaching Rebecca Quentin to play tennis.
The cheers from the right side were very loud, causing Rebecca Quentin to become a little distracted.
Chester seemed to notice Rebecca Quentin’s distraction, after guiding her through a few swings, he suggested, "Let’s take a break."
Rebecca Quentin nodded.
The two of them sat on the nearby leisure chairs to rest, and a waiter brought them fresh fruit juice.
Rebecca Quentin took a sip of the juice, lazily said, "I guess I’ll never learn, the more I play, the worse it gets." It seemed she only made one hole, and that was by accident.
Chester laughed, "Someone’s affecting your concentration."
Rebecca Quentin neither agreed nor disagreed. Her peripheral vision caught the tall figure playing gracefully on the right side, with Alice Robinson leaning beside him like a little fan.
Chester added, "Do you really think he’s dating my sister?"
Rebecca Quentin looked at Chester in confusion, "Why do you say that?"
Chester’s lips curled into a light smile, "He’s been entangled with you for so many years, hasn’t he?"
Rebecca Quentin slowly lowered her eyelashes, "Unfortunately, it still ended in tragedy."
"Does your heart still hurt?"
Rebecca Quentin shook her head, "The hardest times have passed... now it feels quite good, he has his new life, and I have mine; it’s much more relaxed than when we were together."
Chester was still smiling, "But it seems he’s doing a lot better than you now."
Rebecca Quentin frowned, "Is my life that bad?"
Chester teased, "You’re lacking because you have nothing now, all alone, while he’s radiant with beauties surrounding him."
Rebecca Quentin resiliently smiled, "How am I alone? I have family and friends, I’m not lonely."
Chester straightforward said, "I was referring to a lover."
"I really haven’t considered that lately."
"Why? Because you can’t let go?"
Rebecca Quentin looked seriously at Chester, "Do you think with my current situation, anyone would be interested in me?"
Chester gazed at Rebecca Quentin for a few seconds, his lips curving into an intrigued smile, "Can’t you tell that I’m interested in you?"
Chester’s words startled Rebecca Quentin, making her a bit flustered, "Doctor Robinson, don’t joke with me, you’re the most aware of my health condition."
Chester feigned seriousness, "So what if your health isn’t good?"
Seeing Chester’s serious expression and knowing he was teasing, Rebecca Quentin relaxed, teasing him back, "So, you don’t mind?"
Chester shook his head.
Rebecca Quentin chuckled, "I told you... Your family supposedly has only one heir, you’re not taking over family affairs, but expanding the family is your task, and I’ve heard you mention that you like children!"
Chester’s smile widened, "You really have me figured out."
"I’m just being realistic."
"So, in reality, you’re not against a new relationship, you’re just hindered by your health."
Rebecca Quentin answered honestly, "I haven’t really thought about relationships recently, but life is long, who can bear being alone for all their life? So, of course, I also hope my health will recover."
"Can I put it another way, if your health improves, and I pursue you, would you consider it?"
