Contract Marriage: Abusive Love with Mr.CEO-Chapter 411 - 218: Howard Geoffrey’s Fury (Part 2)
Mrs. Geoffrey said nothing more, lowered her head, and looked again at Andrew in her arms with such a tender gaze.
Upon hearing a knock at the door, Rebecca Quentin went to open it.
The visitor was Mrs. Geoffrey.
"Becca, I hope I’m not disturbing your rest!"
Rebecca Quentin shook her head, her gaze fixed on Andrew, who was sleeping sweetly in Mrs. Geoffrey’s arms.
Mrs. Geoffrey looked down at him, "He just had his milk and fell asleep."
"Why not let him sleep in bed? It’s tiring for you to hold him like that."
"No, it’s not tiring at all... This little guy, like his father, might be a light sleeper since childhood. The moment I walk away, he opens his eyes and insists on being held to sleep peacefully."
"Let me hold him..."
"Okay."
Mrs. Geoffrey carefully handed Andrew to Rebecca Quentin.
Andrew squirmed a bit in Rebecca Quentin’s arms before falling asleep again.
Rebecca Quentin kissed Andrew tenderly and then carried him into the room.
Mrs. Geoffrey sat on the edge of the bed beside Rebecca Quentin, both of their gazes fixed on the little one whose cheeks were rosy as he slept.
"He’s already being naughty... This morning, I tried to feed him milk, but he was too busy playing and refused to eat. Then, I told him if he finished his milk, I’d take him to the garden to see the fish. Who knew he seemed to understand and finished his milk quickly. Later, when I took him to see the fish, he was so overjoyed..." Mrs. Geoffrey mentioned her grandson with a fond smile in her eyes.
Rebecca Quentin smiled slightly, "He’ll definitely be very mischievous in the future!"
"No doubt—Howard was very mischievous when he was young too..."
When Howard was mentioned, Rebecca Quentin fell silent.
Looking at Rebecca Quentin’s slightly pale face, Mrs. Geoffrey said cryptically, "Becca, you and Howard need to live a good life together in the future..."
Rebecca Quentin looked up with difficulty, "Aunt..."
Mrs. Geoffrey interrupted Rebecca Quentin, speaking earnestly, "In this life, being with someone you love is really not easy... Remember, no matter what faults the other party commits, be generous. After all, who doesn’t make mistakes? If both can forgive each other, love can last long."
Rebecca Quentin slowly lowered her head again, calmly and indifferently saying, "Howard and I can no longer last."
Mrs. Geoffrey took Rebecca Quentin’s hand and patted it gently, "I believe you and Howard will reconcile in a few days."
Rebecca Quentin’s voice was slightly hoarse, "I’m afraid it’s no longer possible."
Mrs. Geoffrey chuckled lovingly, "Alright, let’s not talk about this topic... Oh, by the way, for the next few nights, Andrew will sleep with you!"
Rebecca Quentin looked up in surprise, "Really?"
Mrs. Geoffrey nodded, "You’ve been in poor health, so we’ve never dared let you bring Andrew... But since Howard is just away for a few days, let Andrew stay with you!"
"Okay." Rebecca Quentin’s melancholic mood lightened slightly at this moment.
Mrs. Geoffrey instructed, "Andrew will wake up for milk every night, so when you prepare milk for Andrew in the middle of the night, don’t do it alone. Just call out, and the maids outside will help you."
"Alright."
"Also, Andrew loves fish. If he throws a tantrum or cries, take him to see the fish, and he surely won’t cry..."
"Okay."
"The doctor also said Andrew can start some solid foods, so pay attention to the combination of his supplementary meals from now on..."
Mrs. Geoffrey continued to explain many details about caring for Andrew, to which Rebecca Quentin listened carefully, noting everything seriously.
Rebecca Quentin didn’t sense any abnormality in Mrs. Geoffrey’s demeanor, assuming she was just worried about her caring for Andrew alone in the future after separating from Howard.
But Rebecca Quentin had no idea that at that moment, Mrs. Geoffrey was entrusting all her concerns to her...
On the afternoon of the sixth day after Howard’s departure, Rebecca Quentin was napping with Andrew when an urgent knock sounded from the door.
Rebecca Quentin got up to open the door and saw the maid. Before she could ask what had happened, the maid anxiously blurted out, "Miss Quentin, please come downstairs quickly. A lot of police have come home, and they came to take the old madam..."
"What?" Rebecca Quentin was stunned.
The maid hurriedly pulled Rebecca Quentin toward the first floor.
Rebecca Quentin swiftly arrived in the first floor’s living room, but by the time she reached there, she only saw Mrs. Geoffrey sitting in a police car.
Rebecca Quentin was stunned on the spot, murmuring, "How could this happen?"
The maid was frantic, like an ant on a hot pan, "We don’t know what’s happening either. Just now, the police suddenly arrived and said they wanted the old madam to go to the police station for investigation or something. The old madam just went with the police herself, and no one could stop her..."
Rebecca Quentin became worried too, "Didn’t the old madam say anything?"
"The old madam didn’t say anything, only left a letter for Mr. Geoffrey, asking for you to read it together with him."
Rebecca Quentin nervously asked, "Where’s the letter?"
The maid immediately handed the letter to Rebecca Quentin.
Rebecca Quentin quickly unfolded the letter, but before she could read it, she heard the maids respectfully greet, "Mr. Geoffrey."
Rebecca Quentin instinctively turned her gaze from the letter to the tall figure stepping into the villa...
As soon as Howard entered, he asked, "Where is the old madam?"
"Mr. Geoffrey, it’s good that you’re back. The old madam was taken away by the police..."
Howard’s expression turned grim immediately.
Jason Wood, who was following Howard, quickly said, "Boss, I’ll go to the police station right away."
Howard displayed a stern and cold demeanor, exuding danger.
Jason Wood hurriedly rushed out.
Rebecca Quentin noticed Lisa Cecily was also with Howard, evidently having just returned from a business trip.
"Mr. Geoffrey, what should we do now? The police took the old madam; will she be alright?" Everyone in the villa was anxious.
Howard turned around and coldly reprimanded the villa bodyguards lined up, "Why am I paying you? You can’t even watch over one person. If anything happens to the old madam, get lost, all of you!"
One of the bodyguards timidly spoke up, "Boss, we were already very careful, but the old madam seemed aware of our attention; she didn’t even use the house phone. She used a maid’s phone to make a call, and we..." The bodyguard, knowing he’d erred, didn’t dare continue.
Rebecca Quentin stood frozen, completely confused about the current situation.
At this moment, a maid quietly told Howard, "Mr. Geoffrey, the old madam left you a letter."
