Eternal Life Starts from Tai Chi-Chapter 103: Improvements on the Panel
During the days Yang Chan spent traveling down the mountain, his Potential Point gains had diminished significantly. After arriving at Tan Yun Mansion in Tan City, he started to resume his normal rate of accumulation.
The Dragon Bone Medicine Bath, in particular, provided a significant number of Potential Points. He had made sure to bring a supply with him when he left the mountain. The Dragon Bones he was using now weren’t the ones he’d purchased back in Taiyu City, but ones he had bought since.
After successfully refining the Lantian Jade Refining Pill, the cost of the Dragon Bone Medicine Bath was no longer a concern. It was responsible for 0.3 of his daily Potential Points, and he certainly wasn’t going to let that go to waste.
Although it was late, Yang Chan made sure to use all his medicines, both internal and external, before midnight. He had already warned Han Bingyu and the others not to enter his room without permission and had even set traps inside. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
There were no traps in Room Geng for the time being, as he wasn’t yet familiar with the place. He planned to start setting them up in a few days. He never neglected his personal safety.
When midnight arrived, Yang Chan saw that his panel had once again added 2.3 Potential Points. The familiar number pleased him, and without a second thought, he allocated them directly to his Tiger Demon Bone-Refining Fist.
Back at the Cyan Yuan Sect, he had been gaining an additional 0.2 Potential Points each day. Over ten days, that amounted to 2 extra points, giving him a total of 23 Potential Points from that period.
During his five days of travel, his gains had hovered between 1 and 1.1 points per day, netting him a total of 5.3. This was significantly less than his usual intake.
He had accumulated a total of 28 Potential Points, all of which he had poured into his Tiger Demon Bone-Refining Fist and Tiger Demon Martial Seal, resulting in a substantial boost.
The most noticeable result was that Yang Chan had now refined 140 of his bones, and his proficiency had reached 60% of Tier Three Mastery. At this rate, he should be able to reach the Perfection Realm in less than twenty days.
His Tiger Demon Martial Seal was also getting closer to Tier Three, currently at 66% of Tier Two Entry. The Martial Seal’s progress was dependent on the Tiger Demon Bone-Refining Fist; it couldn’t advance beyond the cultivation technique’s level. If not for this restriction, he would have already pushed the Tiger Demon Martial Seal to Tier Three.
Empowering himself with the Tiger Demon Martial Seal would grant him a massive increase in strength, but he wasn’t in a rush. Compared to the other disciples sent into combat, his role as a Pharmacist was relatively safe.
Yang Chan summoned his panel. Seeing only minor changes, he let out a sigh.
[Name: Yang Chan]
[Lifespan: 17/222]
[Talent: 21]
[Potential Points: 0.8]
[Mastered Professions: Pharmacist (Tier Two Entry 66%)]
[Comprehension Technique: Tai Chi Health Cultivation Skill (Tier Four Masterful 7%), Ox Demon’s Mighty Fist (Tier Four Masterful 5%), Turtle Breath Body Cultivation Skill (Tier Two Entry 44%), Demon Suppressing Swordsmanship (Tier Two Entry 54%), Wind-Stepping Technique (Tier Two Entry 40%), Ox Demon Martial Seal (Tier Three Mastery 5%), Tiger Demon Bone-Refining Fist (Tier Three Mastery 60%), Tiger Demon Martial Seal (Tier Two Entry 66%), Purple Qi Body Cultivation Skill (Tier One Initial Glimpse 41%)]
His various cultivation techniques showed slight improvements, with the exception of the Tai Chi Health Cultivation Skill, Ox Demon’s Mighty Fist, and Ox Demon Martial Seal.
The progress on the others wasn’t much. He didn’t spend much time cultivating his Purple Qi Body Cultivation Skill, yet its progress was remarkable, with its proficiency increasing by over ten percentage points. This was partly due to the good weather and the fact that he hadn’t missed a single day of practice.
The improvement in his Wind-Stepping Technique was a direct result of his travels. Although he rode for most of the journey, there were still opportunities to use it. He made sure to practice the technique whenever he could, which increased its proficiency by ten percentage points. Had he used the Wind-Stepping Technique for the entire trip, his proficiency would likely have soared even higher. However, doing so would have exposed the secret of his hidden cultivation level.
’For the time being, I’ll stick to my plan for allocating points. I’ll continue to focus on the Tiger Demon Bone-Refining Fist and Tiger Demon Martial Seal to reach the External Refining of Iron Bone Perfection as soon as possible.’
Yang Chan reviewed the progress on his panel. His other cultivation techniques and his profession were all improving steadily, even without the use of Potential Points. The points simply served to accelerate the process.
This progress was also thanks to his increased Talent. The results of his hard work were now much more pronounced. Compared to his cultivation speed with his previous level of Talent, the difference was striking.
As things stood, Yang Chan’s Talent alone was enough to classify him as a top-tier genius within the Cyan Yuan Sect. He would be considered a promising prospect with the potential to become an Inner Master.
Of course, that was understating Yang Chan’s true potential. For most disciples of the Cyan Yuan Sect, however, becoming an Inner Master was a lifelong ambition. After all, an Inner Master not only possessed a distinguished status but also a long lifespan, always exceeding one hundred years—long enough for an ordinary person to live twice.
To Yang Chan, however, becoming an Inner Master was just a minor objective. Even reaching the Bone Marrow Cleansing Grandmaster realm, a breakthrough that the Sect Leader of the Cyan Yuan Sect and others yearned for, was merely a single step in his plan, not his final destination.
Everyone is different. His goal wasn’t just to reach the peak of Martial Arts; he also sought carefree longevity, to become a Red Dust Immortal who could leisurely watch dynasties rise and fall from within the mortal realm.
The reason he’d never wanted to leave the mountain was so he could continuously improve his strength and extend his lifespan, with the initial small goal of living for a thousand years.
However, the world was far too dangerous, and he often found that circumstances were beyond his control. That was why he was so relentlessly focused on improving his Martial Arts Cultivation—so that one day, he would no longer be at the mercy of others.
He felt that day was fast approaching. It would only take a little more time.
’The members of the No-Life Evil Cult are growing audacious. They can injure an Official Disciple of the Cyan Yuan Sect just by controlling ordinary civilians. I’m not invincible yet, so I have to be cautious.’
’Furthermore, judging by the No-Life Evil Cult’s methods, they’ve likely controlled a large number of ordinary people. Even though the Servant Disciples the Cyan Yuan Sect brought were chosen from other cities, I still need to be cautious around them. I must be extra vigilant and never let my guard down.’
’If I were in the No-Life Evil Cult’s shoes and saw the Cyan Yuan Sect bringing in new disciples, I would absolutely target them—especially support personnel like the Pharmacists.’
’If all these miscellaneous tasks didn’t require Servant Disciples, I really wouldn’t want to interact with them at all.’
Yang Chan mulled over these thoughts, constantly reminding himself. Danger hadn’t found him yet, but that didn’t mean it wasn’t there. It was likely lurking nearby, just waiting to be triggered.
Perhaps in a few days, the No-Life Evil Cult would make its move. That was a very real possibility.
Of course, if Elder Gu An and the others could eliminate the members of the No-Life Evil Cult first, that would be ideal. He could then use the opportunity to return to the Cyan Yuan Sect, which would be the best possible outcome for him.
For now, however, he had to remain on high alert. Based on the intelligence he had gathered about the No-Life Evil Cult, one could never be too cautious. He had to look after himself first before worrying about anyone else. This was a reminder he had given himself before even leaving the mountain.
Don’t draw too much attention. Otherwise, it’s easy to become a target.
