Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 79: Mr. Huxley Urges Tina to Win Over Maxim Sinclair Early
Maxim Sinclair gave him a thumbs up. "It’s refreshing, but it’s too early to say whether we’ll collaborate. Julian Huxley, you’d better make a trip back home first."
Julian knew what he meant and nodded knowingly. "I really can’t do much with you right now."
"Don’t be discouraged," Maxim patted his shoulder, "I believe in your ability. First, let me wish you success in getting what you deserve from Old Master Huxley."
"What I deserve..." Julian gave a bitter smile, "It’s not that easy!"
"You’re capable of bringing the Huxley Family’s overseas assets back to life in your hands. That’s your strength!" Maxim smiled, "Don’t lose heart. I’m really looking forward to our collaboration!"
Omni Industries, in the CEO’s office.
Tina Huxley rushed in, pacing hurriedly to her father who was on the phone, with an anxious expression on her face.
Seeing she seemed to have something important to say, Mr. Huxley had to hastily hang up the phone, then looked at Tina with dissatisfaction, "Why are you in such a panic? Didn’t you see I was on a call?"
"Dad, don’t you know? Julian and his group have already returned home!"
"When did this happen?" Mr. Huxley frowned. "Besides, why did they come back?"
"Mom just called me. Julian said that grandpa’s birthday is coming up soon, and they came back to celebrate his birthday."
Saying that, Tina pouted, "They say it’s for the birthday, but who’d believe that? Who knows what ulterior motives they might have!"
Sharing the same thought, Mr. Huxley, however, reprimanded Tina, "How many times have I told you? Don’t speak your mind out loud. What if you slip and say this at home? What would your grandfather think of you? If they use it against you, then we’d be at fault!"
"Got it, I’ll be careful!" Tina pouted defiantly, "So what do we do now? There’s still a long time before grandpa’s birthday. They came so early, they must have seen Justin return to help you and couldn’t sit still, so they came to keep an eye."
"I’m afraid that’s not all!" Mr. Huxley sighed, "Next, they might try every means to get a position in the company. That would be troublesome then."
"What’s there to be afraid of?" Tina was puzzled, "Didn’t grandpa say that you should handle all company matters? I still remember the last time they tried to get into the company and grandpa scolded them out of the country."
"You’re wrong, this is something you can’t be complacent about!" Mr. Huxley shook his head slowly, "No matter how big they made a fuss before, Julian didn’t get involved. Now he’s back, things are different."
Among the Huxley Family’s generation, Julian and Justin are the most outstanding ones.
Especially since Julian single-handedly saved nearly half of the Huxley Family’s overseas assets.
This man is too much of a threat!
Seeing his grave expression, Tina began to worry too, "So what should we do? Should we call Justin back to discuss it?"
"Of course, we’ll discuss it together," Mr. Huxley nodded, "I’ll contact him in a while to come to my office and have a good discussion about our countermeasures, but right now, you have an even more important task."
Tina looked at him, bewildered, "I have an important task? What is it? I don’t want to deal with Julian, you know, I’ve never been on good terms with him since childhood."
"I didn’t ask you to deal with him!" Mr. Huxley sighed in disappointment, "When you’re in front of your grandfather, you’d better be respectful to Julian. After all, he is your cousin, don’t let your grandfather think you disrespect your brother."
"Got it," Never fond of such lecturing, Tina interrupted, "Now’s not the time for a lecture on manners. Get to the point and let me know what I’m supposed to do?"
"Do you remember that our company has a project collaboration with the Sinclair Group?" Mr. Huxley got up and went to a file cabinet on the side, pulling out a document and handing it to Tina, "Take this project to the Sinclair Group and find Maxim Sinclair."
Tina took the document, glanced at it, and then looked at Mr. Huxley puzzled, "Isn’t this project supposed to start in winter? Why are you bringing it up now?"
"I was planning to advance this project but got busy with other stuff, so I forgot," Mr. Huxley pointed to the text above, "I’ve already arranged for the personnel related to the project to be selected. You should take this project to Maxim Sinclair, and while discussing the project, seize the opportunity to interact with him more."
At this point, Tina understood what he meant.
"Dad, I get what you’re saying, you want me to use the project discussion as a chance to get closer to him," Tina again pouted, "To be honest, this approach doesn’t work on him. He’ll just send his people to connect with me. The last two projects I went to him for, he barely acknowledged me."
"So are you planning to give up now?" Mr. Huxley asked her rhetorically with a tinge of disappointment, "Such a great man and you’re willing to just watch him slip away?" 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"It’s not about willing or not," Tina was also helpless, "Maxim Sinclair is too hard to crack. I really can’t manage it, and my mom said girls should be more reserved. If I keep chasing like this, I’ll become a laughingstock in the Stellarion social circle!"
"I didn’t ask you to chase him openly!" Mr. Huxley explained patiently, "You just need to discuss business matters with him, the rest I’ll handle."
Tina worried he might mess things up and affect her image in Maxim Sinclair’s eyes, "Dad, you should tell me what exactly you plan to do. I’m afraid you’ll mess it up, and there’ll be no chance for us afterward."
"You and Maxim Sinclair can take it slow, but my goal now is to use Maxim Sinclair’s influence to make the other branches of our family wary."
"But will this really work?" Tina looked at him, doubtful, "I’ll remind you, Julian and Maxim are on good terms too. Truth be told, Julian has more sway with Maxim than Justin does."
"Don’t worry about that. Just take this project to get close to Maxim. The rest is up to me. As long as the old man believes it, it doesn’t matter if others do."
Mr. Huxley impatiently waved her off, "Instead of wasting time nagging, why not prepare for what’s important? Put some effort and capture that man’s heart soon. I’m counting on you!"
